Bhai, why you make it very complex, it is very simple way to qualify the test:
1. For aldehyde and ketones,
Iodoform test is given by carbonyl having alpha carbon as a -CH3 .
2. For Alcohol
Iodoform test is given by carbonyl having beta carbon as a -CH3.
