  • Turns out the other back door needed a patch. After running out of welding gas I get out my 20 year old Flux Core Welder and finish the job.

    As someone who's currently restoring a car, all the horror stories I've heard, of how you shouldn't use flux core for bodywork, because it's to hot , it's dirty, you'll just burn through... bla bla bla... Yes you can, but it takes patience, practice, and alot of preparation. 90% of the welding I've done, has been with a cheap fluxcore welder. Even after I bought a MIG welder with gas.

    • @swc-diygarage

    • @swc-diygarage
      @swc-diygarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      fiberglass will seal it making it water tight on the outside. water should never be getting to the inside. I spray the inside with under coating oil once the part is finished and painted.

    • @swc-diygarage
      @swc-diygarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The set up material needs to be the same as the repair. Then adjust heat and wire speed. It's important to maintain the same amount of wire stick out and distance from the work piece. Small changes can have a drastic effect.
