All i can say, De Zerbi is a good coach, it's a fact is tactics are far superior than ETH; yes, i do watch games. But i judge managers not coaches(my opinion). And being a coach and being a manager; i define these things differently.
for me, a coach is all about tactics, style of play and making players follow a system. But a manager goes beyond that. It goes outside the pitch. i think De zerbi has one of the most entertaining tactics in the world. But so is Bielsa. I don't think Ancelotti or sir Alex would've ever thought of playing like that.
ETH has fair criticism about tactics this season. But he kept saying he needed players to play the way he wanted and we saw that when varane and lisandro played in the final against city. I also think what he tactically did at his Ajax years is enough proof that he is competent in that field.
The only reason i would prefer ETH over De Zerbi (my opinion), i what i have already seen outside the pitch. The way he handled backlash, being respectful to the take-over ( despite all the rumors of ineos sacking him), bringing confidence to rashy, raising the kids, instilling discipline in the dressing room, setting standards, handling sancho and ronaldo, while still keeping the majority of the players onside. Mourinho was soo close at this but it was clear the players didn't like him anyways. In the same scenario; Ragnick and Moyes completely tumbled down due to the pressure, Solksjaer was a people pleaser and it still didn't work well for him , Van Gaal's football was just outright boring and it felt like he wanted to leave (In my opinion).
I think De Zerbi is not ready yet for united as i consider him a coach for now. He hasn't really experienced what someone like ETH, Arteta, Klopp, Ancelotti, sir Alex etc have experienced in their first years in big clubs. I feel bringing him to united is a risk that can take us 2 years back again. Just for reference Xavi quit barcelona due to depression. I think bringing him De zerbi requires an adjustment period for him, to cope with the pressure coming with the club (especially with a horribly run club like ours or barca) and we would never know if he'll turn into an ancelotti or tumble like the former. For me ETH has passed this test and now its a fact that he's tactics have to show up next season or is out.
I don't know if ETH is the man for the future, but he i feel he definitely deserves to stay to what i think he has done off the pitch. I feel there's a few things ineos should do before getting rid of him. Like getting rid of players from old eras, improving recruitment. Also a clear structure in the club would be perfect under De zerbi or any other manager but we still don't have that and ETH still rode through and brought home trophies. If there's any time to experiment; its now, when we have coach who can win things atleast. And when we reach a city level of management then we can invest on pure tacticians like de zerbi.

Ive been crying out for a Carrick like midfielder for years so Exequiel Palacios would be a dream tbh. With our track record of signing destroyers who panic on the ball. It would be breathe of fresh air to sign a midfielder that isnt another destroyer that treats the ball like a hot potato.
Another thing with signing Exequiel Palacios is it doesn't block Oyedele pathway to the first team.
Whilst its only youth level, Oyedele doesn't seem to panic under pressure and doesn't treat the ball like a hot potato.
Now that ten Hag stays, could you do a video how he can rectify the tactical issues of last season, the most glaring being the huge space between midfield and defence due to him wanting his forward line to press aggressively but also asking his defence to hold a deep line, seemingly out of concern with their recovery pace. The caveat being he won't have bug budget to burn, probably at best 3 new players.
What we want to do is something like what barca did. A No.6 (busquets), Neves(Xavi), Mainoo(iniesta). I dont understand this obsession with No. 10s. They are a luxury not a requirement
Not sure that there is an obsession with number 10's - Real Madrid for one don't play eith a 10. Regards Barca, all three being all time greats with Messi in front of them speaks for itself.

Nice content and analysis. I don’t see Newcastle doing biz with United without us paying hefty fee for Bruno G. I like the idea of Palacios (putting his injury record aside), he’s like combining M. Caqueret & J. Neves into one player. Instead of paying £100M+ for Neves and another progressive player, why not get a complete package like Palacios. Who won’t like that but poor recruitment planners. I think United still need a world class Head of recruitment. Because the rumors of players we’re getting show patterns similar to what we’re used to.
I'd prefer koopmeiners to all of them..he's left footed which i think is very vital for dynamisms in the midfield,he's got good long range shooting and excellent passing,he's intelligent which i think is an underrated quality and the majority of our players lack that,and he's very technical too..the other player I'd get in that stance is john mcginn

I have been thinking the same thing too. Mainoo and Neves are too similar profile. If given choice, I would definitely pick Neves over Mainoo because I think he is more press-resistance and carry the ball more than Mainoo. Not sure both can co-exist in the same team.

Amad has good qualities that can be used in midfield but this is just hypothetical and won't happen. Ideally we sign another midfielder to replace Bruno. We won't be able to get someone that good but we can build a balanced midfield overall with the right transfers
