I don't normally bother to log and leave comments however I must say this is brilliant and it has saved me a lot of frustration and time. The Ebay "help" pages are next to useless. This explained it all simply and easily - top marks. The only thing I didnt get was the postage but I have since figured it out , set a price and then add a small amount for each extra item.
The first time I tried to create a variations listings it was maddening. You're right; it's a very UN-intuitive process. It might appear to viewers who have never used the feature that it's very straightforward but, in reality, it's way to easy to mess up the "attributes" step (the very first step) and waste a lot of time doing what feels right (entering info, uploading photos) only to find out when you go to do your other variations that it doesn't work at all like you'd think. By that time, you're frustrated and have to start over.
Totally agree! I loved this tutorial it was so clear. But I'm getting so frustrated and have started quite a few times on mine; the actions don't appear to be coming up for all the items - it's been like argggghhh for a couple of hours at the mo, but I reckon it's good for the brain cells!
Or alternatively, " by that time, you're frustrated and want to throw your device through a window" !!! 🤯 omg this is insane! I cannot, for the life of me get the pictures to change colors the way he said he did after he added the different colors to their assigned color!
Good video Nic for the lesser mortals, I spent 4 hours doing a variant the other day on a Tablet, it only seems to work without issue on a pc or laptop. I’ve managed for the past 8 years with all listings done on a smart phone / tablet without variants but finally decided to to do variants after failing 4 years ago lol, yet again after 4 hours of constant glitches on eBays platform for anything other than for those who use a PC, I managed to get one variant listing done. So for anyone who reads these comments use a laptop or PC because eBays server / browser facility on anything else is not up-to scratch. I hope ebay are listening so they can improve the facility & functionality of the browsers on smart phones & tablets.

Took my a while to get the variations button to show. I had to get 'Seller Hub', then create a new listing. Variations won't appear for 'sell similar'. Had to select the 3 dots to enable variations. Once the option showed for me, your video helped out. Thank you.
Nic, I don’t use multi variation listing much and had forgotten how to add the variety of photos to the different options. Quick TH-cam search and guess who popped up! 🤩 all done and sorted, Thanks
Is this only offered under a certain listing type? every time I go out to list an item like Hot Wheel Set with multiple different types of characters it does not offer me create variation as shown on this video? I've been trying to do this for days- Help!
You may now get 100’s of other people listing spare Guess Who cards on EBay! 😅 Handy walk through though, I’ve not tried it myself but good to know how it’s done! 👍🏻
Yes, definitely. Not only have sales dipped noticeably but views and watchers are also seriously down. Also, it's taking ages for listings to go live. I sell antiques and vintage full time and popular items that normally hit the ground running are just sitting there. Thank goodness the markets are back up and running, but maybe that's the reason?

Thanks for this very helpful and concise video. Can you tell me how the shipping postage adjusts depending on the quantity the buyer purchases? Obviously, the postage is less if they buy a quantity of one compared to a quantity of say 24 sets of cards.

The one part that I don't know how to do you didnt work on! xD, I need to make a similar listing to yours but with more atributes. Basically, I have 15 character magnets, I have 2 sizes for each, and I also have some that have a different picture (about 7 of them, have "option" or "picture" A or B... but also size small or medium... I haven't come across anyone that shows this...

Can I please ask how you sell in batches rather than individual items using variations? I've got a lot of toy engine track and for instance want to sell 4 x curved pieces as 1 batch, with lots available, I just don't want to be spending my life sending out 1 piece of track!
Why do almost no eBay categories use this feature? Surely it would be better for eBay to have 5 listings with about 20 variations of the item I want to sell but no, I have to create 100 new individual listings. This is why eBay is so slow.
Does anyone know how to alphabetize the pull down list? I just added 90 DVD movies as variations and cannot figure out how to get the pull down to show them alphabetically.
Nic You touched on being able to change photos for each Card's color in this video as well as a different photo for each color card's name. I am having a difficult time getting this to work. When I would change one variation photo and try to change the other variation It gives me the message all photos will be deleted for the original variation. In your video above I want to have a different photo for not only the color card but a photo for the card's name as well in that color. Can you post how this is done or send me a link to how this is done. I'm not getting anywhere with how this is done.
I'm having the same exact problem as you Dan. I've contacted Ebay multiple times about it over the past few months and the support person on the phone has the same trouble when they re-create it. They have no solution, but keep saying they created a ticket to get it solved. They still haven't gotten back to me with a solution. Hey Nic, can you try adding a photo that's associated with the name on the card and let us know if you have the same trouble? Does anyone have a solution for this?
Anyone can use this tool to do a variant. Not just business sellers. I’ve commented previously but suggest it works without issue using a Laptop or PC, using anything else you will face issues & glitches.

I've used multi variation listings for ages, I use it mostly on game manuals on different consoles.
Once set up it's easy to just top up.

you need to have a store, otherwise it wont give you the option to set up variations

I had to figure this out as well. You have to switch to business listing; which there should be a link to in the top right of the create listing page.
I have looked the web up & down for someone to show me how to do this then you pop up with it today Thank you
