The magnet gun doesn't work very well with the big Nuggets, and it usually makes the lag even worse
also it would be very clunky and half of them wouldn't go in and he would've just wasted a shard
also don't insult his intelligence, he is very smart

An interesting concept could be a weight system. When a crucible/container reaches a certain weight on a scales block, the container is moved along the conveyor. You could also add an auto emptying system so the same container go round a loop and keep refilling.

i think that why the gold was messing up was that when you scrubbed the bucket on the conveyor, it might have messed with the nuggets physics and make them phase through stuff and not get sorted
To prevent lag when doing stuff like this : when starting to lag melt it down lag dissapears and keep adding to the melted gold
