    Hey Lady! Congratulations on the success of your candle business! I know this video has been out for a while now, but just in case I wanted to share with you a formula for finding the fill weight of new vessels if you don't mind my sharing.
    First, you put your vessel/mold on your scale and tare it to zero. Next, add water to your desired fill line and make note of the weight. Lastly, since water is heavier than wax you multiply the water weight by 0.86 to get the wax weight and proceed with your regular candle formula/recipe.
    So for example, if your water weight is 5 ounces you multiply 5x0.86 = 4.3 oz of wax then you would use .43 oz of fragrance for a 10% fragrance load. I also use a similar technique for my soap molds so I don't have extra soap batter and it works!
    Again, hope you don't mind my sharing and I hope it helps you and your subscribers! Continued blessings to you, your family & business! 💕💕💕

      Thank you for this. Iam trying to start out as well I wanted to make sure I understand the formula. If Iam using grams say the weight with water is 10grams I still multiply with 0.86? Right and the answer I get is still in grams. Thank you again

    Very interesting video! I use a different wax, bit I like to scent larger spaces. I use this blend for my wax melts, because it's been impossible to find Eco Soya Wax Melt wax! This is a good sub for that! I haven't been on in quite some time. A tornado hit three days before Christmas in 2021. Destroying everything. So, I've been extremely busy with that.
    It's nice to have time to watch again. You've come a long way baby! I have been here since the very beginning and you have really grown. Congrats!

  • @RoseKindred
    @RoseKindred 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, after watching the video and hearing about the difficulty you had with getting the wax weight required for the molds I may have a suggestion for next time. From my wargaming/model experience using molds, I learned that with new molds to fill it once, in this case, make a "waste candle" with your standard oil/wax measurements. Once it is complete pull out any inserts (wick/sticker/etc) and weigh the whole candle to get a better estimate on what would be required to fill it. I found that using resin vs water vs plaster all have different densities so while I was using a mold with their measurements mine were always different.
    Interesting video, I'm going to pop around and watch a few more.

    Try putting the vessel on the scales Empty then tare it up. Fill the vessel with water and then I know the weight it takes. I have been making candles since 2016 and this I found is a no fail method. Once u have the total weight u can work out the scent percentage.

    This was the first video I’ve ever watched on how to make candles. Excellent presentation! I definitely want to start out with making this particular candle. You have a lot of links in the summary section but I did not see links to the actual supplies that you mentioned in the video. It would be so helpful if that list were included in the summary. Especially for newbies. Or do you have that list as a link to a word doc or Excel spreadsheet? I look forward to watching other videos that you make and getting more involved!

      I understand it may be easier to just see it in the description box but I use too many supplies and tools to list them as I can only fit so much until I reach the word limit.

    I am wondering of the pillar wax would work better than soy cox wax as I made these using coconut soy and they melted all over the place and in 3 hours . Yikes

      Regular wax is not made for pillar candles like bubble candles. You have to use pillar wax so it burn straight down. It’s a more hard wax. Regular wax is soft.

      I'm not sure what you mean. They cure to a hard pillar candle.

      Oops, like 2 weeks curing time for some candles.

      @@latricejohnson3210 About a week; as with any candle the longer the better. so it's up to you if you want to cure longer than a week.
