Bleaching roots & bleached hair WITHOUT SECTIONING!? 😂 YEP!

- I was sick of the roots as my hair is growing out from bleached buzzcut into pixie undercut, so decided bleaching my pixie cut at home with L'oreal Paris Feria Hyper Platinum would be a fun change!

Thank goodness double processing my hair didn't fry my hair beyond repair, I think it actually because quite a decent DIY hair bleaching tutorial LOL! And I was able to answer some of my own questions:
Can you bleach roots and already bleached hair together?
YES!
Will bleaching hair without sectioning work?
Yes!
Will double bleaching my hair destroy it?
Not necessarily!
Sure, it could use a pricey color correction by a professional, but meh, it's good enough, it's just hair, and I'll throw on a fun pastel color in a week - stay tuned!!

From someone who’s done this for years, here’s how to fix the yellow! Use *white toner* right after bleaching (I recommend the brand Bleach London). It takes your hair from yellow to platinum.

I have hound my "massaging the bleach in" sister, I never section the hair. To bleach my hair, I use Extreme High Lift by ION in ash and cool blonde mixed together, and it made a big difference by not being so yellow.
🤣😅 i think we are a small but mighty badass population! mine's grown out to bob length with several inches of roots plus the once and twice bleached end bits. i gotta say i'm a little too nervous to attempt another massage in bleach... but i'm considering it...
Right there with y’all! I’m a short haired bleach “massager” too 💖 I always use *Bleach London* bleach, followed by WHITE TONER (white, not champagne), also by Bleach London. It takes your hair from yellow to platinum, and Bleach London’s product is infused with moisturizing oils so your hair doesn’t feel like straw during the process.
To think that you achieved that beautiful result without going to a professional salon, is absolutely amazing.
It looks great on you :) I used the same one three days ago. My package looked a tad different cause i'm from germany. I deffo can say that bleach is much milder than other ones. No burning, no itching. My scalp is not damaged at all. This is now my favorite bleach.

The conditioner was blue because it is the opposite of orange on the color wheel. Orange is what your treated hair will be prior to the yellow most bleach creates. A conditioner is not enough for that shade. A toner would be better.

I didn't think this bleach worked that well but I only left her on 30min. Burned.

Your hair is a level 8 if you want to go lighter platinum you can definitely go with another pass on the longer parts of your hair and try not to overlap to the other light pieces and back! Try to buy a toner if you want the color to last some time, I think a pastel rosegold would look absolutely divine on you!
Thank you for the tips! I have a box of random pastels from overtone will probably do pink next just 15min or so, when I put it on my bleached buzzcut a few months ago for 30min I was like bright bubblegum head 😅😅😅 though it does fade so quickly, we will see!
I swear I would be so freaked out If I would do this at home, girl you could get bold! Literally!...like, is this product safe for using at home to retouch roots? MIlder or not is still bleaching D:
if you don't follow directions it can go sideways real quick. as with any of this stuff you *should* do a test spot - you could have a terrible allergic reaction with any products, even super mild dyes. and if you leave it on too long, sure, you can 100% burn your hair off!! but... most people use this kind of product at home with no problem. i recently found out my mom used to PERM her own hair at home in the 80s! like, WHAT!?? that's something i would NEVER have considered possible to DIY at home but i guess it's a thing!
Anyone use this over already bleached/dyed hair ...I used this previously and my hair kinda a golden med blonde...I got a good inch of roots that seemed to grow over night...so I wanna bleach again but worried about rest of hair breaking..I'd like to lighten it too
did you watch the video? this is exactly what i did... you could tell what was 1x vs double bleached but just barely. regarding long term, i did have 1 tiny tiny section of breakage in the back, i think from my pillow, i'm not really sure. but overall the single and double bleached hair stayed healthy. i didn't do any treatments, i recommend olaplex and all that stuff for extra measure!
if your hair is long i don't recommend double bleaching on purpose, if you have someone who can paint the roots better for you i think it's a good. move. for me, it was totally DIY and i was curious if i could just put it all over for sake of ease, and luckily, it worked.

Of course short hair can be coloured without section, as I used to do it myself always when I had short hair, but long hair (till middle backspine) is not working without sectioning the hair

Féria makes a toner that takes brass and yellow tones out. Looks great, though.
yes, there are great purple and yellow shampoos that do this as well! i've just kind changing the color up every few weeks, has been a fun ride!

I don’t feel like having to section off especially when my hair is short too! I do the same. Just put on the bleach and rubadubdub 😂😂 the next time I’ll add a few drops of Olaplex #1 in the bleach.

When it comes to bleaching your regrowth, he does say to bleach the roots first and do not bleach your already lightened mids and ends. The only time he says not to bleach your roots first is when you’re bleaching virgin hair. But your hair is short enough that you don’t have to follow that rule.
You can really pull off platinum - I'm a lil jealous 😅 Looking forward to the next experiment!
I'm not sure we can call it platinum 😅😅😅 kids are calling me lemon head 🍋🤣 still, I kinda like it, gonna give it a few days, we are moving this weekend maybe I'll do a new color to break in the bathroom 😜

Turned out okay. Some people actually burn their hair off trying to get to the platinum stage. Ouch. Your hair really doesn't look damaged, though. I'm no Mondo fan (I mentioned to somebody else I wouldn't let my cat near him, he's so goofy) but do like the German guy, Hair Buddha. He reviews a lot of the Tik Tok fails and is kind. Lol.

I did it yesterday and my hair looked like light orange...kinda when you just washed it for the first time. I put some color light blond but did not stick. Then I got a dark blond box and it sticked but my hair is so damaged now :( Never again!
Oh no!! If orange you probably didn’t bleach long enough or your hair was too dark and needed stronger or a 2nd session. I’m so sorry to hear it got damaged, there are lots of repair treatments, deep conditioning. You probably need to do this a few times right away and then once a week at least for a while…

Anyway thanks for making the video! I’m going to put some coconut oil on my hair before dying it. That usually helps with dryness , the. Run out and buy a good mask treatment! I have the Redkin purple stuff-not shampoo but something else 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
so happy to help!! it can be scary, we obviously don't want to RUIN our hair and that certainly can happen (it can burn and break off, none of us will miraculously avoid that if we abuse bleach and our hair 1 minute too long or 1 too many processes) but in general, i do believe anyone can do it and have fun, just be careful

I think your "massage" technique for short hair makes so much sense!! It seems like the bleach mixture was liquid-y enough to apply easily...not like traditional thick, grainy bleach. Would like to know if you think you could've done a 20 developer and come out with a good result??? I think a "toner" of some kind is usually necessary, whether you use a 20 or above developer, on hair that has yelllow/orange which is par for the course. FYI: Fanola's blue shampoo is great for orange. Overall...I think your hair looks great and I think I will try this kit and your technique for my short hair soon. You're so much fun to watch!
I think a less strong developer would have required a 2nd bleaching… not sure 🤔 I use massage in for dying my hair, short and long 😅
