I wanted to cry for you on the first soap 😢😢 It was definitely a temperature issue with it being too warm on the oils. The excess oil could have been the EO not being able to disperse easily in the thick soap. I am so happy that you didn't give up and nailed it on the second go. Sometimes we need to do these things to remind us to check the basics 🧡🧡 The swirls are beautiful and you even got some of my favourite curly swirls. Thank you for supporting me!!!
Pine tar is one of my best seller and the temperature is key. I never had a problem and I use copious amounts of oatmeal, honey and kaolin clay as well and my lye to water ratio is one to one. Great job!
Brava! The second one turned out great, but the first one is probably lovely, lovely pine tar soap anyway, once you get it under the shower. Pine tar is notoriously challenging, but I love my pine tar soap no matter how it turns out looking. Sometimes it's gorgeous; sometimes it's not. Worst-case scenario: I shred up the ugly loaf and put pine tar confetti in a tea tree soap. I'm so glad you stuck it out. Your tenacity will pay off once you try that soap.
ye gods! that first one i wouldnt have even botherd trying to mold that! but that second one was on point! it looks amazing! you are a better woman than i am! xxx
Nice save with the first loaf, and glad you could keep it (being pH safe) to use on yourself. Plus not give up and make another batch very soon after. It’s like getting straight back on your bike after a fall. What surprised is that you were stick blending your pine tar batch. Stirring with a whisk only, and watching it go to light to medium trace is sufficient enough for many people like myself to not need stick blending at all with Pine Tar soaping. I’m in the UK, maybe it’s an additional ambient temperature thing for you where you are. Love the stirring to trace method myself, it’s easier and doesn’t even take long, which is why I sometimes stir the essential oils in with the oils Mix it in good and proper, before the lye solution is added. Well done though.
Yes! When my oils were warmer it accelerated very quickly but when they were cooler at room temperature (27 degrees Celsius) for me, it all stayed nice and fluid. 😊
The smell reminds me of a spa like experience. It’s quite hard to describe. It’s one of those smells that some people love or hate. Kinda like how some people feel about coriander 😂
That needs to be sent to eco soap bank because of the leakage. I honestly wouldn't want to use it. I hate that it went sideways on you and hope the next batch goes better but you really shouldn't use it. That could be lye seepage, or oil or fragrance oil seepage. But there no telling exactly what it is and it could be alittle of each. So please don't use it send it to the eco soap bank and just make another batch. Just because at the end of the day it's still soap don't mean it's still safe to use. If it is lye and you use it or give it to family to use and everyone gets burned well????????? It's not safe to use!!!! You don't know if there's lye in all that wetness! I'd never use something like that just in case there is lye. I can't believe you think it's still just soap and will use it looking like that. This is classic soaping 101 do not use if there is seepage!!! Not a smart idea!!
Thanks for your comment I cured it for 6 weeks as per usual and ph tested it and while it’s still ugly, it’s absolutely fine to use! The seepage was the essential oil and it had evaporated/dried but the next day. I will be keeping it and using it myself.

I’m so glad I gave it another go too! I was so happy with those curly swirls!! 💚
In real life, things don't always go exactly as planned it's GREAT to see honest effort on you tube. Thanks

Persistence is key! Great looking bars of soap!
It turned out great on the second batch! Glad you tried it again!😅
You blew it out of the water with #2! Awesome job!!!
Try hot process to a full gel state with the pine tar soap. Don't let it dry out in the pot. Mold at vaseline stage. Good luck.
Hello, love your video. Where did you buy the soap cutter from?
The link to the soap cutter is in the description box below the video. I got it on Etsy 😊
Great save. Keep going! Hugz, Tree

So you recommend soaping at room temperature with Pine Tar?
Yes! When my oils were warmer it accelerated very quickly but when they were cooler at room temperature (27 degrees Celsius) for me, it all stayed nice and fluid. 😊
Te falto darle unos golpes por las burbujas 😊
👏👏👏❤️
But how does it smell? Horrendous like pine tar out of a can or nice like dr Squatch?
