This video is the reason I bought a model of 1983. I had a Challenger on order and saw this and went right online to order 1983 for my WP layout. Just an excellent video!
JT, the amazing thing about that chase is during most of the run there were mayve about a dozen of us chasing - not the hordes we saw with 844 several years ago. It was almost a leisurely trip down the canyon.
Yeah 844 in 2009 was crazy. I feel like there weren't as many folks during the 2012 chase. Traffic on I-80 wasn't bad... Canyon is just tough when there are a lot of people because it's only a two lane road without much area to pass. Once you get behind the "leader" you'll be fallowing them for awhile.
Big Boy may exude power, but 3985 is poetry in motion;.

What a gem of a video!
Incredible shots Ken! 3985 sure blew out a lot of exhaust between Portola and Keddie. You had a very nice chase with plenty of great shots.

Alex, somewhere east of Kedide the 1983 died so the crew pulled a unit from a passing train at Keddie.
Get rid of the diesels!
