  • This isn't clickbait, I just quit my dental job of 6 years. There is so much I wish I had known going into choosing where I was going to work as a dentist, as it's one of the most important decisions we'll all make. In this video, I reflect on the last 6 years, the good and the bad, what I wish I'd known sooner, and what I'm up to next.
Here's the follow up video of what I'm up to now: • I'M BECOMING A DENTAL ...

I love your growth mindset to always learn more and grow from experiences. Many dentists take longer than 6 years to know what you have come to understand. You say you're a "slow learner", but I think you are very self aware and it has lead to your success. Keep up the good work, the profession is lucky to have you.

However I am always thinking that I like to be dentist and change my career. I do not know if it is a true interest or if it is because of societal prestigious/superiority that dentists show to us. I never saw a dentist that is unhappy (they are always proud of their job or at least show it to us as an outsider that they are superior), so I am not sure how truly dentist think about their job or is it just an impression that they make to those who are outsiders. I feel I am lost about myself. You have been in dentistry, is it truly what it sounds to be or is it just the surface where we as outsiders see? I appreciate your info.

Honestly - this very common. Lack of mentorship upon graduating dental school. Realistically, the system of a given practice will determine your growth - it will either limit you or empower you to grow. Its all about the system. 9/10 focus on that 1 or 2% more when realistically its what is the collection available and been given to the associate in the past. Love seeing you hit the inflection point to move on to something epic.

A good provision setup is an increase in percentage of associate payback if you exceed X amount of production dollars. That's traditionally what I've seen in contracts that reward a more ambitious associate. Congrats on the move back to Southern Ontario
