    I drop to the floor when I heard my name!!!
    Thank you so much for your video and every video you ever put out. I truly value your thoughts on hair & hair products and as I was starting my crochet hair journey, I serious thought you had left the crochet hair world but lucky me you are back! Thank you so so much in being in all our lives and teaching us how to do it right...lol!!! Thank you for your time and patience with all the question we throw your way. You are appreciate and loved! ❤

    Thank you so much for the shoutout 😩😩😩 I still haven’t purchased the unscented, so I just walk around smelling like dryer sheets😂 I have never tried the Hawaiian Silky miracle worker😍 so now I have to go pick it up especiallyyyy for this silky style I have in now!

    When I went to cosmetology school back in the 80's ,we used fabric softener for our mannequin' hair and it was "Synthetic"! It made it really soft, detangle and smell good !

      I always used fabric softner to soften and detangle my nephew and niece's dolls hair so I figured it would work for hair (synthetic)

    I use it on my crochet hair all the time. It works for me. It's better than hair mousse in my opinion.

  • @amoryll36
    @amoryll36 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    🇬🇧 🙋🏾‍♀️ That's a good point. Wearing the hair first and seeing what it needs as you go is best. Not all hair is the same, some need product, some don't. Some like mousse some hate mousse and need something else like hawian silky 👍🏾

  • @vickiesapp4418
    @vickiesapp4418 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    No I tried it once and it causes a buildup I just us a hot wash cloth and run it down the hair with praying hands works every time❤ and a very good method to detangle and I wear the deep twist

    For me fabric conditioner is great if I'm not actually wearing it, as in removable wig or hair pieces, as otherwise fabric conditioner used this way (as in on crochet hair) is really not advisable, with ingredients that are toxic to both skin and scalp (even in the unscented and baby versions as they are meant to be fully rinsed out and not diluted and left on), interfere with the immune system and are carcinogenic (as in cancer) with regular exposure (so yeah quite nasty), so Hawaiian Silky miracle worker 14 in 1 or Cantu Coconut Oil Shine and Hold Mist are better for crochet style.
    Please, please, please as a hair and beauty therapist, ladies, do not put the downy mix on scalp or skin, as this can produce a rather unpleasant experience, especially if that triggers a bad skin reaction...
    As you say, Lia, it's better to use a proven hair and beauty product, but even with some of those products there might be some reaction, so it's always better to test them at the back of your ear on a pea size area of skin for 24 hours, prior to spraying a whole area. If there is no reaction then you're good to go, if not then you should look for another safer product for you. Everyone is different and will react differently.
    Great job Lia! If I ever forget to tell you: thank you so much for your channel, you are so good and please keep going! Lots of love from the UK ! 👍🏼🤗😘

    • @sandrineangelique7819
      @sandrineangelique7819 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      PS : I am obsessed with both Indya Ajai and Jess Monique's channels, after yours obviously! 😜 I looked into a homemade version of a fabric conditioner, but even then, there might be some adverse skin reactions... so do a patch test 24-hours prior to spraying a big area..
      But you can mix 1 part of raw organic apple cider vinegar, 1 part baking soda and 2 parts water, and a few drops as in 5 drops in total of your fave essential oil to mask the vinegar smell. You can also add a bit of your hair conditioner if you want a silkier mix and/or instead of the essential oil drops, it's up to you to experiment and see how you like it best. More natural and safer. 👍🏼😉

    I've used the fabric softener among other products. Anything with water and alcohol dries out the hair faster. I recently discovered Hollywood Beauty Argan Oil. It's light and smells like grapes. I use it once a week. I have been able to keep my hair in for 6 weeks.

    I normally dont use product. I prefer natural looking crochet hair that mimic my own. At most I use naroibi when wearing a updo to make the top flatter. Other than that a mist of water and scissors to cut out tangles when needed. One to two months of wear is the goal.

    I'm just looking for something to stop my wig from being itchy on my skin . I have brand new wigs that itch . The hair fibers itches everywhere it touches my face and around my ears . I just washed a wig with Downey fabric softener . I'll see how it feels tomorrow .

    • @LiaLavon
      @LiaLavon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I like Febrezze as much as the next person but I don’t know if I could have that smell me all the time.The great thing about wigs though is you can take them off and not necessarily be attached to the smell all the time.

    • @MusicLover2Eternity
      @MusicLover2Eternity 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LiaLavon Yes! very true. I will say I didn't notice the smell after an hour or so. I don't think I was necessarily nose-blind either. For me, Febreze don't last like that anyway. Don't think I'd try it on a crochet style tho.

    This is an old video,but people that used to smoke in their car, even after they smoke, their car will still smell like cigarettes. Apartment buildings these days don’t want people to smoke and/or ask if people smoke bc cigarette smoke stays in the walls,it even darkens their color…..
