I know what you meant when you said if we didn’t buy a bunch of cheaper pens then we could get the expensive one that we really want. I am currently in that situation but deciding to save my money for something that I really want. I am also trying to avoid buying duplicates of the same pen but in different colors. They are all the same I just like to collect them all! I am going back through your videos to rewatch your pen fasting series. Thank you so much for doing that 😊
Hi @moniquemarieify - right ... I'm being a lot more intentional and trying to get the finishes I like that go with the most number of inks lol. :) I'll be in a pen fast for a long time now. Expect more episodes of the pen fast chats!!!! :)
So pretty! I'm considering the Confetti Milkshake Benu for my Birthday pen, partly because you and other TH-camrs I follow all sing Benu's praises! Thanks for showing the size comparison, I hadn't considered how big it is. I broke my pen fast with a half price Lamy on National Fountain Pen Day.🎉
Oooh that's a great day being able to get half off on a Lamy! :) I had such a busy Fountain Pen Day accompanying a loved one to eye surgery ... so I sort of missed it. :)
Hi @just__celia -- awesome! :) I love the Benu pens so much ... to have that much beauty in the pen body AND reliable excellent writing nibs too is so wonderful!
I’m definitely a Benu pen. I’ve received Euphorias as Christmas gifts too and I really like the Talismans. The briolette didn’t work well for me and I gifted it forward. My first Benu was an Essence that I bought used (I don’t think they make them anymore) and I love that one too with a broad nib. They always write even when not used for a while and all the nibs are great right out of the box. I’ve never had to do any tuning.
Hi Cathie -- I can honestly say the Benu pens have been so reliable that I love them even more than the TWSBI's I have and because of the nib and feeds on them they exceed my love of the Lamy's also. :) I was quite surprised. I knew I'd love the pen bodies because I love sparkle but until I got my first one I didn't realize how awesome the nibs are! :)
Hi Nancy! Oh that is a gorgeous one I almost got one of those myself! I just kept coming back to the silvery one the Vodka on the Rocks and finally chose that one! :)
Thank you - I sure am grateful for each of my Benu pens because not only do they write great ... they are so beautiful to look at they make me feel happy!
I love Benu pens: the glitter, the designs, and they're all great writers. My most recent indiscretion is the Bubblegum Rizz from Endless Pens, and it's inked up with Taccia Momo Pink, a most pleasing combination indeed. The new snowflake-filled holiday pen looks intriguing, but unless there's an intensely good deal, I'll keep the collection at its current level, since it's even more costly than usual. So shiny, tho...❄😻
Thanks, Chris! I think it's been a minute since you last did a focused pen review. I love BENU pens too and it takes a concerted effort to not keep buying more and more colors. I've given away a few as gifts and sold a few to friends so I could get new colors. I have both the Talisman and Euphoria models and can't decide if I like one better than the other. I agree that the newer matching sections and center bands are a nice touch, but one advantage to the black sections is that you can swap them if you have different nib sizes --- which is even easier and less disruptive to the nib unit than unscrewing it. I will keep in mind that the broad pens work well with shimmer inks.
Hi Marilyn - oh I should have thought of that!!! I do that kind of swapping on my Jinhao X750s! :) I do think these Benu pens are so tempting it's something I always need to be aware of my tendency to over-collect and be real careful in my choices!
I like to keep my personal collection down to a small group of favorites because I don't like to go too long in between using each pen, so I'm not really into multiple colors of the same pen. But I cannot think of a better endorsement of a pen than having one and needing to get more in different editions. I see that often with Benu, it really speaks of them being a special brand.
Hi David!!!! Nice to hear from you! I hope all is well!!! You've got a really good philosophy there on your personal collection. I think I am moving toward that myself although I have many I wouldn't part with just yet ... I can see that I'd like to own WAY fewer than the 200+ I amassed doing this channel.
Thanks for the review Chris! Yes, I have a BENU Euphoria Ice Caramel Latte in Medium. It is so perfect in coloring, just a hint of glitter and writes BEAUTIFULLY! I also notice that it dries out fairly quickly. But, I love it. I’ve looked at all the others in their collections and just can’t decide which to get next! Analysis paralysis! I was bummed that I couldn’t get a spare nib in stub but I learned from another TH-cam that this model BENU will accept a TWSBI VAC 700 R Nib!!! So I tried and it worked! Yay!!!! Take care and enjoy your new acquisition. P.S. That Pink Champagne looks gorgeous!
@ I learned about it from another TH-cam FP channel. Works great! It is “Katie’s Craft Studio” channel. The date of the video is October 20 2022. The title begins: “BENU nib swap…. “. Good luck!🙋🏼♀️
I have 6 Benu Euphorias :P I love them so much! They def used to be way out of price range. Now I've moved on to other pens that are still out of my price range 😅
Hi @MamaTomasu -- lol it is funny how my view on "expensive" has actually amended ... when I first came into the hobby I truly thought $15 was insane for one fountain pen. :)
Benu has become one of my favorite brands! I started with a fine Euphoria in Ocean Breeze, and have added two Talismen since then (one fine and one medium). The medium nib does amazingly with a shimmer ink, so I would say you are good to try shimmer ink in one of your M pens! :)
Oh wow ... cool .... I have one of my Opus 88s outfitted that way and I can totally see eye-droppering a Euphoria and using it with a nice wide parallel nib!!!!
@@ChrisSaenz13 you don't even have to pull the nib like for an Opus 88, just unscrew the section from the parallel and screw it on to the euphoria. I just use the pilot cartridge!
I might have to seriously consider one of these since you are having such good luck with shimmer inks in these. ALL KIDDING, Chris, Do you think you could buy me the Floral Flutter or Enchanted Forest ? LOL !!!!! 🤣😂😉 I would need to hit the lottery for those.
LOL same here with the Dracula one - I'd need to win a lottery! :) Yes, now I wonder if the M nib will handle the shimmer inks as well ... that's something I plan to check into sometime ... I'll order a M nib unit.
Lovely Benu pen review! Thank you for the informative history about you and Benu, I immediately went to check other you tube reviews of the Benu Guava, and your one looks the prettiest in my humble opinion!!! Maybe due to your slightly darker more atmospheric lighting? But maybe due to your Guava model really being the best out of the lot!? I did like the shimmer and colour on some septors and briolettes, it's just that I'm a cap poster so that narrows things down for me. I have yet to experience a pen that can not be posted and that feels good to me anyway, cause I just haven't experienced that wide a variety of pens yet.
Oh I'm so glad you had a good time at the pen show and stayed conservative with your $. :) The Waterman Expert is a great pen! The Benu people seem like such good people ... Vodka on the Rocks is on my radar (possible Black Friday/Christmas purchase, if anyone has good deals), but I'd like to know if the glitter is silver or if it's iridescent. For the longest time I thought it was silver. Then I saw someone using it in a video and thought it might be iridescent. If anyone could answer that for me, that would be awesome! Also, are all Schmidt nibs pretty much the same in their performance? I got a fine nib on my Benu and it was unpleasantly scratchy (or maybe it's just feedback?) for so long that I almost gave up on it. But either I'm getting used to it, or it's wearing in a bit, because I can actually use it without it annoying me too much now. BUT I got an Admok with a medium Schmidt nib, and it's smooth as can be - basically what I had hoped my Benu would be. So I'm not sure if it's the difference in the nib width, the difference in the silver vs gold colored nibs, or just that my Benu nib might be defective. I bought my Benu Briolette Milky Way last year after watching your videos. I love it! I use it for journaling everyday! Love your Benu collection!! ♥️
Oh that's so cool I'm glad you like your Benu! :)

It is so dazzling! I love that they used some pink/magenta glittery stuff because I think it pairs just as well with pinks as with green inks. :)
I think I might order a m nib, love the vodka Benu. Having fun is key word. Great video Chris!
