Bazzet using Fragarach to win in a rock-paper-scissors match is ridiculous and creative enough to be my favorite usage of a noble phantasm in an entire series
Remember that in the main story, Bazett used a command spell to transform Angra into her arm? Well, that it is, basically is as they said in the story, the things that happened inside the loop were real, so of course Bazett is found to her new arm because it is the only thing that reminds her that Angra was her servant
Rider's is the one that was important because it gives a lot of characterization to her that makes a TON of her scenes in the game make a lot more sense. Though you could have deduced it without this Eclipse scene it still serves as confirmation. And if you didn't realize how Rider felt during the game, then this Eclipse scene would probably be the thing that gives the game the most replay value not counting the main plot reveals. Basically the short of it is that Rider loves Shirou but is restraining herself both for Sakura's sake and because she feels unworthy of it. And after you realize that, you start to clearly see it in most of her scenes, even the comedy ones. For example here's one of the biggest ones: Remember that scene where Rider was with Shirou in her room reading books and Sakura got in, then during the scene she eventually got mad at Rider because of her teasing Shirou and Rider freezed completely and started to repeatedly apologize for the rest of the entire scene? Without context, it just seems like she was teasing Shirou too much without really thinking about it and then realized it made Sakura jealous so she felt guilty and apologized. Which is why Rider's seriousness is even a little bit off putting and maybe even comic, but it's not that out of place since we know how extremely loyal she is to Sakura. With context though, you realize that it wasn't a matter or Rider being careless and not noticing she was going too far with playful teasing, she was apologizing like that because it wasn't playful at all. What happened was that she lost self control and started to actually try to seduce Shirou for real there without realizing it. She started to apologize when Sakura got mad not because she realized it was bothering her, but because that was when she realized what she herself was doing and the reality check brought her back to her senses. When you notice that, the way she was so serious and almost desperately apologizing to Sakura over and over again makes completely sense and it's borderline depressing. The amount of negativity on her mind during that specific scene is almost definitely Rider's second lowest point emotionally in the whole game behind only that night scene when she died in front of Angra. In fact, it's been a few years since I read Stay Night, but I think it might be lower than any scene in that game.
In case Sequel and Himuro the Love Detective didn't make it clear enough, Eclipse scenes are all outside the loop, that's what separates them from the rest and gives them a separate button on the menu. Himuro's is before the loop, Sequel is after the loop ended and the others are unclear, but don't really matter. As for any confusion about the timeline, it's explained in the very beginning of the game, everyone being alive has absolutely nothing to do with Angra or the 4 days, it's a result of Rin messing up Second Sorcery. It's a bit confusing because they mention several times how "the 4 days where everyone is alive are a paradise", so we tend to think that everyone being alive is a characteristic of the loop, but that's just misdirecting sentence structuring. It's intentionally misdirecting as a way to give it a double meaning through the 4th wall. For the characters saying it, they mean "These 4 days where everyone is safe and there is no reason to worry about consequences", for us it means "this game where you can see all the characters you love alive, even though you thought they were dead." Hollow Ataraxia does that a lot, making a connection between the characters and how they feel about the loop with the players and how they feel about the slice of life video game. It's the same as them talking about filling the events and how that takes a special meaning to us as players. Unfortunately that makes a lot of people say that "the timeline doesn't make sense" or that "how can Sequel be canon if Rider and Saber are alive even though it's not inside the loop". It's just like Kingdom Hearts, where 80% of the "plotholes" people say the game has aren't plotholes at all and are properly explained in the game, but in a confusing way that a lot of people just didn't understand. The game does have plot holes, but WAY less than people say it has. Same thing here.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it in the comment so I'll do it now, when I say that the complains people make about it not making sense are unjustified, I'm talking specifically about Rider and Saber being there. That, as well as the left arm both make sense and have explanations. But Caren knowing Angra is definitely strange. That's the one thing in this scene that doesn't seem to make sense, since the scene is obviously outside the loop and Caren shouldn't have any memories of it. Her knowing who Angra Mainyu is makes sense, she'd need to have some knowledge of things to be able to insert herself in the loop after all, so it's only natural that she knows about Angra and the nature of what was happening. That said, that moment with her and Bazett doesn't really click, since even if she knew who Angra was and even if she knew how he looked like and his behavior, she shouldn't have any personal feelings towards it, which makes her blushing at Shieou dressed like Angra weird, since that'd only happen if she remembered it.
Hmm, I guess you didn't (or weren't aware of) the *explicit* scene between Caren and Anjra Mainyu, Eh, whatevs. For Rider, her intentions were to make Shirou more active in pursuing Sakura but she herself harbored feelings towards Shirou herself. As always, Rider values Sakura's happiness over all else so she felt a bit ashamed of those desires and hid them back. With that and Shirou basically using the NP against her, the truth was laid bare.
Well, it is clear that Rin's eclipse happened in her route, that eclipse is a fan favorite thanks to the fact her eclipse is the only time in all Fate that he directly stated that she loves Shirou and he said it loud too.
@@warellis Saber's is most likely NOT in UBW Good, as it makes zero reference to the route. Not to mention Saber wouldn't try and seduce Shirou behind Rin's back, since she's well aware Shirou is Rin's in that route and doesn't have romantic feelings for him in UBW. It almost certainly takes place during one of the Hollow Ataraxia loops.
@@christianflora2316 Saber's scene does take place in one of the loops, dare i say in a lot of loops probably. Saber's scene is referenced in an Illya scene where she asks Shirou to bathe with her, and when he and Saber refuse, she complains about the fact that she knows Saber and him do go in together.
@@jairomelchor8024 Yup, I should've referenced that scene for evidence. Thanks for doing that for me! So yeah, definitely didn't take place in UBW Good. After all, Rin is the love interest in UBW, not Saber (which both Shirou and Rin clearly get across in the epilogue of that ending).
Now you completed the game, now you get why so many people love Hollow Ataraxia even more than FSN? Also, for the lore, basically the thing with Rin trying to replicate Zelrech sword was the action that created this new timeline, in this timeline Bazett was not dead and Caren was able to preserve her life, basically the main story of Hollow Ataraxia happened inside this new timeline, and like we explained in earlier videos, as the Shirou in HA is really just normal Shirou + Angra (because he is a 0), Shirou can remember things that happened inside the loop as vague things, we saw that here, he knows Bazett and Caren and at the same time, Caren and Bazett remember all the things that happened inside the loop so of course they "like" Shirou, because he was basically the filter for Angra. Also as they explained in the story, the events that happened inside the loop will happen in the real world too. Personally, i love this game, and everytime i hear the ost "last piece" (that is basically everytime i open the game) nostalgia assaults me and it make me tear a bit. Now remember to read the manga of kaleiiid, at least read it since 2wei, 3rei in the manga is a must, you can feel the love of the mangaka to Fate stay night and Hollow Ataraxia there, and the anime didn't justice to that love
The Avenger we see in later games based itself off of Shirou, yes. But Avenger & Shirou aren't the same person. He just apparently possessed Shirou for awhile while helping Bazett through the coma she was in.
Bazett's speed-eating and complete disregard for flavour or variety even gets a chapter in Emiya Gohan. Her usual gyudon place is closed for renovations and she winds up at Copenhagen.
If ya didn’t get it, Bazett’s left arm being demonically possessed is in reference to when she used a command spell to make Angra “Turn into her left arm”. Seems in Sequel that meant that her first artificial arm became possessed by Angra, although seems he can’t do anything. Caren want’s her BF back but Bazett’s not handing over Angra to anybody so they’re in a stalemate. That being said Sequel in itself seems borderline non-canon to me for a couple reasons so just take it as a joke.
I always assumed it had to do with the 3rd sourcery. Bazett was in the dream as a Soul and that Soultook in a portion of angra, As such When her soul came back to her body it still has that piece in her as its has nothing to do with her physical body. I assume with the right usage of magic Angra could be Extracted in whatever form or bonded to the Arm instead of Bazett but She aint about to lose best boi.

Huh I never got that final ema with Saber, Rin, and Archer. Just turned off h content now and it finally showed up. I think Nasu was asked about if "sequel" was canon and what timeline it followed and his response was basically "don't think about it too hard."
The is a clear in-world explanation for Hollow Ataraxia's timeline and everyone being alive, it's a result of Rin messing up when trying to replicate the Jeweled Sword and fusing a bunch of different parallel universes. They explain it near the start of the game before you even get to the world map, it's right after the first Bazett scene. What he meant was "Don't think too hard about why that event made things end up in this specific way", since it was essentially an excuse to have all the characters present, but there is a canonical explanation that makes enough sense. Basically, he gave us the "what" and said "don't think too hard on the "how"". But it is canonical and it is explained.
The amount of copers that the epilogue is real is insane, the Zelretch sword implosion was a complete red herring, and the game only shows shirou and rin finding bazzet because they’re the only sure things between all three routes. Everyone being alive goes against the game’s themes and Nasu tell you to not think about it too hard. It’s just a fun little spoof so you can see Caren and Bazzet interact with the crew.

The timeline presented in the fake world of HA is theoretically possible, just highly implausible. Alternatively Rin retroactively stiched a bunch of timelines together in an accident involving the Jeweled Sword Zelretch.
The main theory is that the first part of Hollow Ataraxia, where Rin causes an Incident with her Second Magic experiments, causing Fuyuki to live with many possibilities to exist at the same time, is something that DID happen in the real world, and that Angra Mainyu just used the Real world as a basis for the 4 day loop.
