Wow. Hans Zimmer's replacement certainly lived up to the task. Tenet's pace is faster than Inception's, so the intense throbbing electronic score is perfect. Great job Ludwig. I was also reminded of Daft Punk's Tron Legacy score.
Dude if you haven't seen it; Hans Zimmer wasn't able to do Tenet's score because he was working on the one for Dennis Villaneuve's Dune... AND THE TRAILER FOR THAT JUST DROPPED. th-cam.com/video/n9xhJrPXop4/w-d-xo.html
With perhaps one exception I found the Tron: Legacy score consistently more tuneful. Its orchestration played a large role. The Tenet score does its job but with a rawness.
@@Brandon-se4wn Reminded me in places of Tangerine Dream's soundtrack to the William Friedkin film Sorcerer, both of which I recommend. And I'll need find the track but I'd heard what had to have been a direct homage to the Inception score.
47:18 You can hear Travis Scott's voice mixed in. After Goransson completed the soundtrack, he discussed with Nolan that someone new ought to be brought in to do the credits. He argued that the audience would likely want something new, something they hadn't heard yet in the film after the finale. Goransson ran it by Nolan and he agreed Scott would be great to bring in. They produced the song "The Plan" and decided to go back and mix in his voice with a few of the tracks throughout the movie.

Unbelievable soundtrack Went to see the movie in an IMAX theater, and I have to say it was the best cinematographic experience of my life. My favorites tracks are : -Rainy night in Tallin (That bass drop made the whole theater shake, and I got an indescribable adrenaline rush as the special units started running) -Meeting Neil -747 -Trucks in place -Posterity -Foils - Freeport
1:12:36 LOVED this in the cinema, think it was playing during the part of the scene showing the inverted blue team. I don't know why but this part fits "inversion" so well.
It literally is the music inverted. The music always runs in the same direction, so when you see it from the perspective of the blue team the music is inverted. This is actually helpful to understand a few moments where you see Neil (who changes directions a few times during the final battle).
@@Mark-cs2pq Whoa fellas lol. Göransson has a LONGGGGGGGG way to go before his body of work rivals Hans. Is he off to an INCREDIBLE start? YES! Is he on track to become one of the best to ever do it? Can't even begin to name all the composers that have incredible bodies of work far, far, far, more comprehensive in scope to Göranssons.

Amazes me that people still haven't figured out you watch Nolan movies at the cinema the first time for the sensory experience then watch them again multiple times when they're released on home video to figure out the intricacies of the story. Part of the allure of his movies is how layered and complex they are. I'm so glad there are directors how there who aren't afraid to take chances and don't feel the need to spoon-feed their audience.
The first moments in "Meeting Neil" were completely mindblowing, it makes the character instantly much more misterious and interesing just with one single note. Amazing
YES! FINALLY! Someone who hears it too. I have dreamed of this sound after hearing this OST like 5 times and could not for the life of me remember where it was from. I actually checked the whole OST and somehow missed it out of eagerness, only to find it later and get such bliss. That bass drop is something ethereal...
@@cristianodettori Definitely. Everything about it is just perfect but I can understand why it didn't appeal to the general audience. Which is a shame because in every scene could see the love and passion that was put into making it. I have hope the movie will become more popular as time moves on just like the first Blade Runner which wasn't a big hit at the time of it's release. All the people who are blabbering about how Ludwig is inspired by Hans Zimmer in scoring this movie just fail to give right reference where exactly is the inspiration and from which movie..! almost all either giving references of single notes or just bringing out references from their a**es..!! This timeline you mentioned is the exact part where Ludwig is inspired by Hans . If you listen carefully it is inpired by 4 soundtracks of Zimmer - 1) "A watchful guardian", 2) "Like the dogs chasing the car" 3) "Risen from Darkness" 4) "Rise" ( 1&2 from the dark knight , 3&4 from the dark knight rises). This peace of timeline is the mixture of these 4 soundtracks plus Ludwig's touch.!!

My favorite Nolan OST so far: the fast pacing rhythm, the frantic feeling of all the score: a real race against time. I love how he incorporated electronic elements, and an almost industrial feel very similar to Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross works, maybe a little more nevrotic. I never heard Ludwig Göransson's works before, and this was a pleasant surprise. listening to this in the theatre was a deep, visceral and raw experience. I absolutely love it.
If I'm not mistaking he did the soundtrack for Black Panther and it was really fkn great! Lots of research, fresh sounds, and meaningful/purposeful arrangements. His music truly tells a story on its own.
This is probably one of the best soundtracks that has been composed ever! It is excusite, original, I would even say avangadre. Congrats to Ludwig Goranansson. 👍👌👌👌👌

@@ryanjosephdp really? I didn't know, but the Mandalorina definitely had one of the soundtracks I've liked the most recently.
the boy has talent!
Whenever the protagonist goes reverse the music does to when you listen closely which is such a keen eye- mean ear to detail
