  • Goa’s climate is well suited for various spices, hence it has many spice farms producing best quality Indian spices. The state has many massive spice plantations that let people come in and see the produce in their natural environment. In this episode we are embarking on a tour of the famous Atreya Spice Farm in Mollulem with our host Shweta Ilkar. She is a food blogger who runs the popular Instagram page called Much Food Goa.
What seemed to be a fun and relaxing tour turned into an educative and wholesome experience full of anecdotes and pristine local food. On reaching there we received a warm welcome from the genial owner Amrut and colleague Abhijit. Over a rejuvenating cup of lemongrass tea, Shweta enlightened us about some traditional Goan dishes. Soon Abhijit took us on an immersive tour across the verdant and delightfully fragrant surrounding.
We got learn about the benefits and uses of some of the popular Indian spices. This included lemongrass, clove, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, pepper etc. The best part was to know about their medicinal properties and Abhijit articulated them very well.
After a long walk we came back for a traditional Goan lunch. The highlight of this light and wholesome spread was the bangda and ananas sasav. For all the amusing details do watch the episode till the end.

It's wonderful episode. It's like exploring the Encyclopedia of spices with knowledgeble team of Atrey Farm. The information which rendered here was never been explored in any spice farm episode. The language used to communicate with visitors was awesome & very friendly. Your episodes are reaching high standards of exploration. Like earlier one a episode started with आलू की जलेबि which ended on high note of Spirituality. Thanks a lot for such a rich contents of your episodes. Good Luck.

Thanks for this precious video. I am diabetic and have curry leaves growing in my backyard in Melbourne Australia. Love the taste and flavour of curry leaves but did not know it's medicinal value. Now that I know will eat the dried curry leaves every morning.

Anubhav bhai you were right. "The Portuguese introduced potatoes, tomatoes, pineapples, guavas, and cashews from Brazil to Goa and consequently India. The chili pepper is the most important aspect of Goan cuisine; it was introduced by the Portuguese and became immensely popular as a very important spice for wider Indian cuisine".

When I venture out to eat, I like to go to places with food that I don't know how to make. So my favorites is Indian. Indian food has so much layering of flavor, and the dishes go together so harmoniously. For food lovers around the world, the cuisine of India is an absolute delight. Exotic indian spices and indian ingredients create a culinary explosion of flavours, aromas and colours. This spices farm is incredible! Cheers, Domenico.

Bahut badhiya...👌.. loved the farm visit... it was a short package of valuable information about the various spices...
Also the pineapple delicacy seemed delicious... (sweet, tangy, spicy, something similar to a delicacy of 'kachhi kairi' which is relished during summers, here in Gujrat.)
