Just got started on the Zenbook 14 Oled touchscreen - the screen is nearly shocking in its detail. The keyboard is beautiful. This is a great review - thanks.
Do you have any insight as to when the S13 will be available for purchase (specifically the EU area) ? I’ve got my eyes on this laptop for a few months now and find it frustrating not having a release date. Thank you for being one of the first reviewers to showcase this laptop!
@@Rumasry yes it will go hot. But only if you use programms, that need a lot of power. I usally use onenote chrome and flstudio and it will never get hot. Only when i play league of legends. But i have a pc for this so thats no problem. The cable brick gets a little bit warm too. But i think thats not a problem either, because it charges with 100W. Since 1 year it still works really well. The only problem is the pen. There is no offical pen for this laptop so you have to choose but there arent that many good ones.
I hope ASUS brings out a refresh of the Flip S 13 with 13th-gen Intel or AMD Ryzen processors without changing the weight, or specs. It needs another USB-A 3.2 port of the other side and a anit-glare coating. Thats it
I just ordered the brand new Vivobook Flip 14 with the same panel for 855€ (student rebate). Great value if you're doing student stuff and want a great, flippable touch display. I can report how the performance is next week if interested!
@@taekookiemylove sure! So the display is a 10/10, would not want anything else. Touch working perfectly. I'm going to say it's a bit heavy, no comparison to a tablet obviously, but I use it at home mostly. Keyboard very good as well. The Performance is sufficient, but not great. (Boot times and fingerprint are perfect tho). Same with the battery life. Zenbook would be better here and Ryzen 7 obviously has way more power if you need it. Overall I'm happy with the decision!
@@Gochsener i only need a laptop to watch TH-cam video, video editing ( i prefer phone tho) , Spotify, netflix, study purposes ( Google meet, websites etc) .. nothing else , should i buy it??
@@taekookiemylove for watching it's perfect. Editing depends on the quality and length, you know it can take some time. Speakers are okay, would use headphones or external speakers
I was hoping to see more about the touchscreen & note taking. I'm considering buying this one for my daughter for her uni and wonder whether it can be effectively used during lectures (with handwriting recognition et al) or is it more a gimmick for 'doodling'...
Having got the UX3402ZA, which is a zenbook air 14 oled, it's really nice, but I don't like the compromises a touchscreen digitiser does to the display tbh.
sorry feel bad for you. Spending thousand to have a defect alike display that looks 480p in light background. It looks so bad that i didnt proceed to buy the OLED flip and went for IPS lg gram, couldnt be happier

All full metal build 680M Zen 3+ iGPU only Oled laptops with 32GB & + RAM are out of stock. Asus has multiple plastic build versions ultrabooks in stock, or heavier machines 2.1Kg+ with RTX 3060 (only 6GB, very little for Blender rendering). Lenovo stock got depleted after christmas 4 months ago, they won't renew stock. They will wait new Zen 4 gen to arrive mid 2024.
I have the i5 version from 2022 which only had 256gb but at least the storage is upgradable but I love the OLED screen it's perfect for watching movies. I can't recommend for gaming this Intel for some reason does terrible even on Direct X 9 games so I can only light game but I use it for TH-cam and Movie content. Its a great HDR screen when you enable it.
I just got a flip oled and the visuals are terrible. The colors are washed out, the details are non existent. I have followed instructions to calibrate the HDR and nothing changes. This was such a waste of money. I had to return a previous asus becuase of a graphics card glitch. I almost kept it becuase the oled screen was incredible. I decided to "upgrade" to the flip and it was a waste of money and a terrible mistake. Be very careful and make sure you can return a unit that is disappointing.
Why only review intel models? AMD CPUs are much more power efficient and have good enough performance too. The Zenbook 14 with Ryzen 7 7730u is a much better laptop with much improved Battery life for a much lower price! By the way 150 nits is way too low for real life battery testing( and why not use the laptop's actual brightness setting like "6 out of ten" or 60 per cent brightness that is easy to replicate at home? For me 60 per cent is the minimum for watching any content. You also have to set volume to an acceptable level for real life use, like at least 30 percent. Battery test like that would be much more representative to real life usage, and that's what we need to know before buying a laptop.

150 nits of brightness is so low, how much battery life can you expect with 300 nits ?

Oled is gorgeous man.
I wish they implement atleast a mini led in their gaming laptops from 2023.
I also hope glossy panels will become more common on gaming laptops, they just look better imo..
