There's literally tens of thousands of actors that play Batman in the DCU and they'd make more sense than using Battinson, who doesn't fit in a world where super heroes have always existed and kaiju attacks are a common occurrence
God I hate what the MCU did to super hero films. We can't just have a solo universe with heroes from DC or Marvel anymore it's all gotta be connected and a shared universe. Let the Batman be his own thing and make a different Batman for the DCU
Not all comic book characters necessarily have enough depth to be main characters in their own standalone stories. Some stories work best when different comic book characters coexist and interact with each other in a shared universe. Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War wouldn't work nearly as well if they didn't have access to other superheroes and characters in the MCU other than Captain America. Sometimes it gets too boring to watch stories of superheroes on their own in a grounded world without other major superheroes to crossover with and play off of.
But Superman is a stand alone, it’s just that they can also be combined. Marvel started with stand alone movies, when everyone got their own stand alone then they merged them.
God I hate what the MCU did to super hero films. We can't just have a solo universe with heroes from DC or Marvel anymore it's all gotta be connected and a shared universe. Let the Batman be his own thing and make a different Batman for the DCU
6:31 yes I 100% want it to happen because A. Gets rid of the confusion we’ll have if we get a second different Batman and B. Gives us an already established Batman for the DCU in terms of that he already has a movie. People will say “oh but the clash in tones and moods” okay so? Matt Reeves knows what to do and can change up a few things so that his Batman can fit into the DCU by the end of his trilogy. As someone else had said, that clash is exactly why they would work together too, Batman and Superman.
I would love for that to happen, but I want Matt Reeves to finish his trilogy before something like that happens. And if he isn’t in the DCU, it won’t beat me up that much
I feel like with more time as Batman, I can definitely see Robert Pattinson part of a justice league. It’s just we’ve only seen him as a detective and a loaner we don’t see him as a leader yet.
Rob would be perfect for the DCU and imagining him trying to work as a team with the league and eventually becoming the co-leader with superman would be amazing
WB wanted Robert as the only Batman in DCU.. James Gunn wanted him.. Only Matt Reeves is holding.. But in the end it's Robert.. If The Batman 2 make billion at box office? How the hell WB will hire new Batman actor..it's cannibalism in on its own brand with 2 Batman actors..matt reeves had already the script. .but james gunn doesn't want it..he wanted change just to fit in Robert Batman Into his DCU. .and WB wanted it
Let’s keep these 2 worlds away from each other…. Rob P Batman, I like the dark tone, grounded and mature feel as though it’s for grown men and not kids.
It would make sense as to why they haven’t finished the Batman 2 script yet. I for one would be interested in if they could meld two completely different worlds like that. The Batman can still have his three stand alone movies and just be apart of the bigger picture. It’s already a success so why risk the other movie flopping from too much exposure?
I really hope this ain't true, while it COULD work, I still think it shouldn't happen, because, The Batman universe is sooooooo dark gritty and realistic, while everything else we are getting, is so fantastical and comic book esk, while both are cool, I just don't think it'd work very well together, but if It does happen, I might be proved wrong
Do you guys remember the behind the scenes of the Batman ? We see a wonder-woman and Superman cosplays. This can work ! They cut it but search it! It comes up
The Batman 1 and 2 are still set in 2022 for all we know by the time Battinson appears in a crossover or the 3rd film there could be a time skip and he’s going to be deeper into his career grown more into the hero he needs to be and accepting of other hero’s appearing by then. Also remember Robert Pattinson said he wanted to make his Batman different by introducing a Robin again so that could happen in the dcu 🤷♂️
Pattinsons Batman is too gritty and grounded for their Justice League Unlimited universe they are attempting. Keep them separate. They should just introduce an already 10 year established Batman for the DCU and possibly give him a Robin. My pick for Batman for DCU is Brandon Sklenar
The Batman and Superman side by side pics work really well together. These films have that same gritty tone to them that The Amazing Spider-Man films have.
My only problem with this is that joker from the Batman wouldn’t fit here for some reason, I’m not sure why but it just doesn’t, like I wanted a more comic accurate joker for this universe
I kinda hope it doesn’t happen because they kinda take creative control away from each other. The Batman should continue to have its own world and not worry about other continuity while the DCU should have its own Batman to fit its needs and atmosphere. Trying to retrofit an existing property into this emerging universe could cause a ton of problems.
The batman movies are taking place back to back so the trilogy is going in-universe in 2023. Just say it's a prequel and have Robert play an older batman like year 4
@@mero7731 It's not about meeting superman its about the whole james gunn wants the batfamily to already exist thing. Year 4 is far too early for most of the members.
We need a Batman that isn’t JUST fighting mafiosos. It’s so boring now. How many times are we going to ignore that Batman ALSO have Posion Ivy and Clayface. Just stop.
As much as I love The Batman being in it's own grounded universe, I think it being in the DCU would still work. I think it would be really cool with fantastical characters like Clayface and Killer Croc
That would be the worst decision they could make. They need to cut the cord on everything that came before and tell a new story. The tone of The Batman and Superman are at odds. I wouldn't want a grounded world like The Batman to also have a flying dog and Green Lantern with a bowl cut.
@jeffmhuber its almost as if the tones of the batman and superman characters are naturally at odds to begin with... one might say that's why the pairing of the two works...
No, keep The Batman separate! With Gunn now in charge, we finally have an opportunity to get a more comic accurate Bats. Blue/grey suit and all. A more adventurous take on the character than we've ever seen on screen. The caped crusader.
That way, we could get a batman from the dcu that is fantastic, you know, like batman having white eyes and a long ass cape, and have some fantastical villains!
I saw jeff sneider say Matt Reeves has been taking long because of personal reasons. Although, I could see Batman part 2 and 3 getting shot back to back. meaning they could wrap up Reeves trilogy by 2027-28. Reeves gets to tell his trilogy while Gunn gets to use Pattinson for his DCU in 3 years. Also, to the people who say Pattinsons Batman wouldnt fit with the Justice league, The Batman took place in Batmans early years at batman. He's still learning and will grow over the course of Matts trilogy.
The only way this will work is if matt reeves let's go of the hyper grounded take on batman and let it be more super villain orientated and fantastical
I think it's a fundamental misundertanding of what Reeves is doing with his Batman universe to imagine any kind of Superman swooping in. It would nullify the whole point. Far better to just do two very different kinds of Batman movies, and let each be fully its own thing, rather than break everything cool about one to fit the other.
Heck no dude. Battison was not made with a shared universe in mind. It should be its own thing. No rush. No last minute changes. Man of Steel back then was supposed to be its own thing until Warner Brothers wants DCEU to be a thing and you get Batman V Superman which is still a stupid name to me. It's like calling End game Thanos V Avengers. Stupid.
I agree. The Batman was never intended to be part of a shared universe. It would be unfair to Matt reeves artistic vision to compromise it into the DCU. I get the appeal for DCU Pattinson, but it’s just easier to have two different Batman.
I get that. But how would you explain this introverted Batman magically willing to be a part of a team like the justice league? Also this barman is in year two of his career, why would he have a full on bat family?
@lucasJohnGillespie character development? Robin is supposed to be in the next Battison movie, he always brings out the best in Batman as well as the zany and ridiculous.
Sorry for this essay in advance: Look I doubt, but I will say never say never. Just look at the first Iron man. I doubt anyone in 2008 thought that in 10 years that Iron man would face a giant purple dude in outer space. Though Reeves clearly has a vision for his Batman crime saga, and Gunn seems very pro creative freedom. I feel like compromising what Reeves is doing into the DCU would be a contradiction to what James has stated he will do as the DC head. On the other hand, I remember seeing an interview during the Batman (2022) release were Reeves didn’t entirely shut down the possibility of a superman in his universe, but did suggest that’s not in his plans. I get the appeal of putting Pattison into the DCU. He’s so dark and serious compared to the bright look of the new Superman, and it’s a perfect contrast. I just find it hard to imagine the other stuff, i.e the bat family and justice league. This Batman is so young that rushing him into having a family or team would feel weird. The best way I can imagine Pattinson in the DCU is to let Reeves do his trilogy first. Then have a major 8-12 year time jump once you do the brave & the bold. This could explain why he now has had a couple of robins, etc. (Maybe a different suit too). Then do maybe a world’s finest movie, then justice league. No matter how they try incorporate Reeves Batman into the DCU, it’s clear Matt Reeves will want control even when he isn’t directing which could clash with Gunn. It’s hard to determine because this Batman is young and we still don’t know how his story will progress throughout the trilogy. Cause it’s hard to imagine this Batman in JL cause he’s so introverted as Batman & Bruce Wayne, but that can change. At the end of the day, it’s so early that idk. Just let Matt complete his trilogy, see how this new Superman movie does financially and critically, and then talk. This is so much effort dough that I believe it’s easier to just make a new Batman for the DCU.
I heard a rumor that James Gunn said they weren’t going to continue with the universe is Superman bombed. My theory is that if it’s successful they will merge it into the DCU but if it fails they won’t touch it. Edit: it could be why the Batman 2 is taking forever and hasn’t even started filming, they could be waiting to see how Superman does
Honestly, I'm game for it happening. Like, I've always felt that The Batman from before they even started filming Superman but it was announced, I felt that could be your first movie. And when you think of Batman as a character in the greater world of DC, yea, he's got some mystical villains and all, but in the grand scheme of things, he's always felt more grounded than others. So, tbh, I've always felt that they could make this Batman work in the DCU. Like, Mr. Freeze for example and doing like, cryo freezing stuff instead of like, freeze rays. Do some grounded but also do something like Poison Ivy who's on the more mystical side or Ra's al Ghul and with the Lazarus Pit.. They could have his Batman do both, some grounded and a different approach to a character. Like, that is different and could be cool to see. There's nothing wrong with that. But like, you could still try and make his movies feel grounded and do some stuff fantastical. The more I think about this, the more I like the idea lol.
I think the big news about Matt Reeves is that he's gonna be involved in everything batman, as a producer. He's producing dynamic duo, the new batman animated series that recently came out, clayface. He'll be involved ad a producer
I wouldn't mind if it happens. I kinda like the idea of two Batmen just cuz I love Batman and the more Batman in my life the happier I am, but I could see Robert Pattinson going into the DCU. I know there's talk about the tones not matching and The Batman being too realistic for the DCU, but the whole point of a Batman and Superman dynamic is their clashing tones and how they come together to make an unlikely team. Plus if you look back at Iron man there is no WAY that anyone could've guessed he would be in a cinematic universe full of purple aliens and rainbow stones. So who's to say you couldn't fit a realistic Batman into the fantastical DCU? The tldr is that I personally won't mind either way. Wether Robert Pattinson joins the DCU or we get two Batmen on the big screen, I think it'll be great
I hope it doesn’t happen because Robert Pattinson‘s Batman (is great but) has already proven to be way more grounded and less of the fantastical Batman. I’d rather have another Batman that’s more in line with the comics/cartoons
Everyone in the comments saying this is definitely not gonna happen remind me a lot of all those in 2022 who swore up & down that Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield would not be in No Way Home. When are people gonna learn that Directors lie. 💀💀💀
I'm not the biggest fan of Robert Pattinson's Batman but if they continue to develop his character then I'm all for it. I mean all James Gunn really needs to do is make a 1:1 screen adaptation of the DC Animated Universe or just take those characters and add things from the comics that fans really like. As for the Batman I would like to see in the DCU, I would really like if he got the blue and grey, or even black navy blue suit (but with modern upgrades) since we have yet to see that version on screen. Making him a detective with a sense of humor and using more gadgets like he does in the DCAU would also be great.
in order for it to work, i think there would need to be some sort of time jump in order to age batman up which could actually work pretty good considering robert pattisons age aswell
Once fantastical Batman from the DCU comes out. I’m sure the grounded Batman will die down pretty quick. People will eventually get tired of the Batman just fighting regular humans or humans on steroids. I want him to fight a gotdamn crocodile man and get poisoned by a green plant lady!
It's about time. Having two Batmans doesn't make any sense, especially when one is already super popular to the extent that it's spinoff HBO series receives both critical and popular acclaim. DC needs all the goodwill & hype it can to salvage its shared universe, and The Batman brings precisely that.
I have a theory that could make these two films work in the same world. Given how James Gunn has described the DCU as a Star Wars like world where we can jump along a timeline a different points to explore these characters, what if the Batman was the first DCU film set a decade before Superman, where superheroes are not common place and thus the world still feels grounded. Now we jump to Superman 2025, the world has changed and Robert Pattinson Batman is 10 years into his career and very much more in line with a fantastical world whilst keeping the tone and vibe of the first film. I could see that working
Tbh I wish this is true the Batman film is one of my favourite Batman films and if it dose go in the dcu then we will be getting fanatical Batman villains which would be sick like imagine a clay face monster chasing Batman down the flooded sweets
I think if they did decide to go that direction, I think I good way to do it would be to have Batman taking down the more organized crime type villains only for the more bizarre and fantastical ones to start to takeover and overpower the typical gangsters and Batman. He begins to second guess himself more and begins thinking of the lessons he learned in the first film with not doing everything by himself and being open with others, so he might get a Robin and potentially reach out to Superman or some other characters. Batman is still in his early years, so there's plenty of time to develop his character and give him more of a comic accurate suit and cave. But I'm also totally okay with The Batman staying the way it is, as it's been super successful and has a lot of great potential.
Putting not-so-realistic Bale's Batman in not-so-comic-booky Cavill's Superman's world would have been difficult but possible: like having John Wick or James Bond fighting the aliens from Alien with the help of some good alien dude. Done well, it may have even been fun. However, I don't see a way you could put Reeves' Gotham (AKA an even more criminal version New York in the 70s with Tony Soprano-like criminals, Serpico-like detectives and Hannibal Lecter's like serial killers) in a world with overly campy and colorfully fantastic supernatural beings.
Think about the earliest Batman and Superman comics. Batman fighting gangsters and Superman leaping buildings. The tones were never similar but they figured out a way to mesh them. I say go for it.
Please don’t let that happen! The two universes are clearly aiming for very different tones and styles. The new DCU embraces a fantastical approach, while the Batman universe leans into a grounded aesthetic. Combining them would create a jarring mismatch.
i honestly hope it does happen I love Roberts version of Batman and he honestly seems like a genuine nice guy to me so I really hope it does happen but we're just gonna have to wait and see

The fact this unironically has 6 likes(you know he liked his own comment) is proof of societies downfall. Such a bad take
God no
@@Dhampire1976 it's not that serious 😂
There's literally tens of thousands of actors that play Batman in the DCU and they'd make more sense than using Battinson, who doesn't fit in a world where super heroes have always existed and kaiju attacks are a common occurrence
God I hate what the MCU did to super hero films. We can't just have a solo universe with heroes from DC or Marvel anymore it's all gotta be connected and a shared universe. Let the Batman be his own thing and make a different Batman for the DCU
Well …. MARVEL/DC should have universes because that is COMIC BOOK ACCURATE.
Stand-alone stories are ALSO comic book accurate.
It's not exactly that. People want it to happen because it would literally be the animated series coming to live action.
Marvel started with stand alone movies, when everyone got their own stand alone then they merged them.
youre 100% correct, why cant characters be separate.
No just No. Reevesverse needs to be its own thing.

Mr Clown, You forgot your Makeup
I would love for that to happen, but I want Matt Reeves to finish his trilogy before something like that happens. And if he isn’t in the DCU, it won’t beat me up that much
I feel like with more time as Batman, I can definitely see Robert Pattinson part of a justice league. It’s just we’ve only seen him as a detective and a loaner we don’t see him as a leader yet.
Rob would be perfect for the DCU and imagining him trying to work as a team with the league and eventually becoming the co-leader with superman would be amazing
Agreed James has a choice here that could be influential to changing the hierarchy of the DCU forever

Not happening dude.
3:00 Bobatalks is great!
My pick for Batman for DCU is Brandon Sklenar
that's a really good pick, i hope they cast him
Matt is waiting for this superman to boom first until he submit the whole story line to DC studio
I just hope Andy Muschietti gets to direct BRAVE AND THE BOLD
Because I loved his approach on the Cape Crusader in THE FLASH
dude… same here! that was some of the best batman action i’ve seen!!
jensen ackles will become as BATMAN with glowing comic white eyes!!!!!!!!!
🤮🤮🤮 Andy muschietti for Batman hell na that would be dog water
As long as he doesn’t bring back the bad CGI.
He is an awful director
The Batman Being In DCU I Don't Mind.
I’d accept this if The Batman Trilogy is just a Prequel to the DCU set YEARS before Superman. Then recast Bruce Wayne in Batman: Brave & The Bold.
I kinda hope it doesn’t happen because they kinda take creative control away from each other. The Batman should continue to have its own world and not worry about other continuity while the DCU should have its own Batman to fit its needs and atmosphere. Trying to retrofit an existing property into this emerging universe could cause a ton of problems.
some dc fans hate how people have creatve control
The batman movies are taking place back to back so the trilogy is going in-universe in 2023. Just say it's a prequel and have Robert play an older batman like year 4
@@mero7731 year 4 is still too young and the DCU is going for a more timeless vibe
@painguy_404 Superman is like Year two and he literally meets supes in year 3 in the comics
@@mero7731 It's not about meeting superman its about the whole james gunn wants the batfamily to already exist thing. Year 4 is far too early for most of the members.
That would be a dream come true to be honest
The thing is rn there’s time to grow Pattinsons Batman and In 3 movies I can see him becoming part of the justice league and having a robin by then
We need a Batman that isn’t JUST fighting mafiosos. It’s so boring now. How many times are we going to ignore that Batman ALSO have Posion Ivy and Clayface. Just stop.
If the batman was added then we wouldent get the batfamily. WE NEED THE BATFAMILY
Yes
That way, we could get a batman from the dcu that is fantastic, you know, like batman having white eyes and a long ass cape, and have some fantastical villains!
Battinson is plenty comic accurate. Just accurate to particular stories
1:52 LA Knight jumpscare, yeah!
This is not happening it is just he is overseeing all batman related projects because hes really knowledgeable (on batman) and Gunn trusts him
The only way this will work is if matt reeves let's go of the hyper grounded take on batman and let it be more super villain orientated and fantastical
even if they decide to merge the 2, how would they explain the whole superheroes always existing thing in the DCU
They can just throw a reference here and there, it doesn’t have to be a big deal and it really doesn’t effect the story either
I think it will be amazing the contrast between them and the different tone is what will make the universe even better
I get that. But how would you explain this introverted Batman magically willing to be a part of a team like the justice league?
Also this barman is in year two of his career, why would he have a full on bat family?
@lucasJohnGillespietime skips
@lucasJohnGillespie character development? Robin is supposed to be in the next Battison movie, he always brings out the best in Batman as well as the zany and ridiculous.
@SWAHswah-tm7sn
I’m not sure Reeves is gonna include a ronin. Especially not in the next one.
Sorry for this essay in advance:
Look I doubt, but I will say never say never.
Edit: it could be why the Batman 2 is taking forever and hasn’t even started filming, they could be waiting to see how Superman does
youtube we are ignore fake fans
Nah nah PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN
Batman needs his own setup.
i would LOVE for this to happen
Wether Robert Pattinson joins the DCU or we get two Batmen on the big screen, I think it'll be great
3:06 yes I love how boba is getting in the game he’s great goes over anything so on his channel bobatslks
When you say you try to picture pattinson as Batman in a Justice League movie invision a better batsuit & way more advanced tech
Matt Reeves was also a producer on Batman: Caped Crusader
That means that Batman: Caped Crusader is officially part of „The Batman” universe!
I’m not against the idea but it would definitely feel weird
PLEAAASE BE REAL! The fact that the contrast is so harsh is exactly why we want this!!!
these people hate matt reeves having creatve control this rumor has got out of control

Tbh as long as Matt Reeves' vision comes to fruition without much meddling, Id be so down for Pattinson and Corenswet to team up. I would eat that up
in order for it to work, i think there would need to be some sort of time jump in order to age batman up which could actually work pretty good considering robert pattisons age aswell
Yes, but on one and ONLY condition, they have to ACTUALLY take away the title 'gronded' because right it is so overused nowadays
Matt Reeves is apparently against that and that's why Pattinson will never be the DCU Batman
@BaithNa Also true. But right now, grounded Batman is so overused and keeps holding him back his true potential, which is fantastical Batman
@@BaithNa Hell, even Arkham Batman was fantastical while his world feels both grounded and fantastical
Well for one it's less risky to use a batman that's already well received and accepted in the role
To me Robert Pattinson Batman is like Kevin conroy Batman from the DCAU, it would be cool to see them do the contingency plan story in live action
nooo. i want a planned continuity
That’s not happening. Let The Batman Reeves verse be its own universe.
I think it would be better for the DCU as a wwhole if this did not happen unfortunately😢
we've been through this with Chistian Bale & Brandon Routh. They should have done it then and they should do it now.
Robert pattinson has crazy range as an actor so I think as his Batman evolves it could work
