The second barrier from Falmuth does the most, because it's from the pope of the church. Since the church specializes against monsters, their barrier is obviously against monsters but it will be explained more in detail in the next episode. The barrier affects mostly the monsters because their bodys is made up from magicules, which means if that's sealed, their basic abilities will decrease. Humans don't really rely on magicules so they probably have trouble even recognizing a decrease in their power. Btw, this is only about the barrier from Falmuth, and not from mjurran. And the fact that Benimaru doesn't suffer from the barrier is because of the way the anime shows. Just think that the second barrier hasn't activated in that scene
Rimurus fight against the orc was difficult because he didn't had a good grasp on his abilities so that's why he let Great Sage loose. She can fully optimize the abilities which helps Rimuru to understand. But since he had his predator from birth he fully understood it so he could use it without trouble

Clayman's anti-magic barrier cancels all magic, so it blocks communication and magic attacks. Its the church's second barrier that weakened Shion. Its called holy prison field which weakens only monsters a lot. Weakers monsters can even die because of it.
What happned is that Shuna finally got a time to shine! ... short as it was.
She used her own magic to nullify the mind-manipulation ability of the female isekai-jin.
And I am happy about it. Shuna get's sidelined so much in the series...
That third eye gave me Magi - The Labyrinth of Magic flashbacks. ^^
I would say Myulan didn't so much "cast it anyway"... Clayman threatened to kill the man she loves and promised that if she did her job well he might even spare him. So in part she is casting the spell for her love rather than in spite of it.
The term "majin" is translated in the LN as "magic born" and is a classification of monster, specifically those who have a higher amount of magicules or are otherwise more highly evolved or simply more powerful. Even Shizu considered herself a majin because of her fusion/possession by Ifrit. Basically, the way I usually think of it is a term for advanced monsters, like those that have evolved or who are just of a heir tier naturally, like demons. Majin are also universally intelligent and self-aware.
Her heart is VERY literally in clayman's hands. In the manga, Myulan was first shown talking to Clayman, who had a glass jar beside him with Myulan's heart in it, telling her to follow his orders if she ever wanted her heart back. As for how she's still alive without her heart, I guess those are spoilers so I'm not gonna tell.

@@timconner7693 how is that a spoiler??? It was mentioned in the anime, that he had her heart and was using it to blackmail Myulan. I just made clear what was displayed vaguely in the anime and was displayed clearly in the manga right from the start.

Myulan's barrier weakens Magic. This is especially detrimental to Monsters who are made of Magicules. Reyhiem's barrier on the other hand is specifically designed to weaken Monsters.

Well to be fair they’re cocky because there’s only one skill rank above Unique and a good amount of entities that have uniques are those like rimuru and the otherworlders unless yer a monster or human that has reached peak power or has been recognized by the voice of the world. That girls Bewilder can kill hundreds but since Shuna had the better ability she instantly had the power to negate it
And most of the people don't even know about Ultimate Skills. So according to them unique skills are The limit.

The funny thing is before they actually activated the barrier around Tempest, those crystals that the Holy Western Church were using, was what was interfering communication with Eurazania - The Beast Kingdom. Communications and Teleportation travel weren't cut off completely until the attack itself had happened.

MINOR SPOILER
The anti magic barrier stops external magic from being cast or leaving/getting inside the area.
The prison field cleanses the atmosphere of magicules which monsters need to survive, so all monsters (not humans because they don't have internal magic) either pass out or are severely weakened.
TL/DR - The pacing will hopefully be as good as the first half of the first season from now on.
They managed to pull of the Youm/Myulan/Grucius dynamic well all things considered. In the other material the beast kingdom trade happened right after they made their no aggression pact, so episode 18ish. We get a slow build towards their relationship as they would have met around the same time.
The reveal that Myulan works for Clayman would have been this episode, so it was a surprise reveal after she was known for 2ish light novels or 10 episodes.
It looks like the corporate board is no longer dictating what to do. They had wanted the first season to end on a giant cliffhanger so people would buy the manga/web novel/light novel and toys. They wanted this event to entice people to buy the other stuff at the lowest cost/risk to themselves. They then realized they had a huge hit on their hand, which should of been obvious given the vast amount of spin off series + sequel series.
At least now it seems the animation studio, director and author are now given full reign, which should help fix the pacing issues. The Web Novel is actually done and the Light Novel is way ahead of the anime. Even the manga is currently ahead as well.
This is just a long way of saying that the source material is there to go to the end of the series. Because the story has already been written 2-3 times there has been lots of room to polish which is great. They know where they are going so they can foreshadow it better.

I did not realize till I got into anime that if I really want to be a good super villain I need to learn to appreciate wine and properly swirl it. I know it is like mid boss villain stuff, but trying to be top tier at the start is probably impossible.

I'm late to the party on this vid, but I have to address the Superman Returns comments. That Superman was a continuation of Christopher Reeve's Superman and that was based on Silver Age Superman, aka the OP Superman that made up powers as he needed them. That being said, Supes was not affected by the Kryptonite of the island at first because he was PISSED that his crystals had been stolen. As he stood there, he began feeling the effects come through his anger. Also, the thing to remember, is that Kryptonite doesn't technically make Superman weak, it makes him sick as hell because it acts as a poison to his cells. it would be like a human having the worst flu for several days, the body aches, you don't have any energy and you just want to lay down and die just to feel better, only in his case, this feeling is nearly instant as soon as he get within range of the Kryptonite's effects. He goes from being able to bench press the planet to instantly feeling like he got run over by a truck. If you watch the first Superman movie, he shows this when he doesn't even have the energy to pull the chain over his head to take off the Kryptonite and immediately upon getting away from it, he's back to full power. Or, you could equate his reaction to Kryptonite to a human exposed to radioactive material and getting instant radiation poisoning to the highest level, just a few hours short of death.

@@YaBoyRockLee No problem, dude, y'all are entertaining as hell. The feat is supposed to be BS to a degree. He didn't do it through his physical power, he did it through will power, just like Cavill's Superman flew with the Kryptonite spear to stab Doomsday and then after getting impaled by Doomsday's spike fist, Supes pulled himself further onto the spike to shove the spear through Doomsday. It was his will to succeed, to save everyone that was being showcased.
Superman Returns powered through his pain to raise the island and get it away from Earth and then he passed out. If he had been shown to become completely powerless like on Lois and Clark in the 90s then it definitely would have been BS for him to suddenly be able to use his powers, but here's something that was not shown in the movie but was included in the novelization, while Supes was gone to Krypton, he explored the remnants and was exposed to massive amounts of Kryptonite radiation that almost killed him before he could get away, even getting lodged in the ship's skin so that Supes had to retreat to a capsule to lessen the exposure. That's why at the beginning of the movie, he staggers when he climbs out of the ship on the farm, the Kryptonite was still stuck to the outside of the ship and why Perry White asked the question if Superman lost weight, because he technically did from being continuously exposed for 2.5 years on his return trip. All that meant was that he had built up a level of resistance to Kryptonite that was augmented by his fury. Also, when he did lift the island, he flew down under the surface of the sea in order to get a large enough chuck of earth between him and the Kryptonite and that's how he was able to lift it. It wasn't until the earth started falling away and revealing the veins of Kryptonite that he started to falter, which again shows his will power because he soldiered on.

the barrier that clayman made are to make sure other human nation allied to rimuru don't come and bother the invasion of the falmuth while on the other hand Demon Lord Milim is holding the beast nation hostage. This is going to be a massacre and we might see the rimuru nation destroyed just like the opening in the 1st season.

I don't think that naming monsters and causing the evolutions is a passive skill, mostly because of how much magicules was used up to name them as well as if that was how it worked, then rimaru wouldn't be as strong because Veldora can't affect the outside world from inside rimaru's stomache.

It affects beings made from magicules. Humans don’t contain magicules so it doesn’t affect them.
Monsters are creatures born from magic. Magic blockers basically makes them way weaker. If they are super strong they can still do alot but alot of people there are severely weakened.
For those who thought slime was light when they only know about season 1 The real story has just begun. From now on what you are gonna see is going to change your whole view of this story.
If someone thinks this series is purely light-hearted after season 1, they didn't pay attention to Shizu...

nah i don't remember feeling like it was a struggle, just that it's not as one sided as an anime only might think. because what you see is not fully explained. when rimuru first surrounds him you see part of him disappeared into a green mist, that's actually part of his body being "eaten" by his opponent's skill. but a viewer might just think he is "evading" him, since there wasn't an explanation there. other than that it's clear in either version that rimuru's skill is stronger and he's going to win. so i disagree with saying he was "pressed".

To the best of my understanding the anti-magic field negates magic within the barrier. So the kijin or Shion, Shauna, and the other monsters would be affected. Cause they are magical beings and evolved with magic.

About the Orc Lord fight, Rimuru only won because he talk-no-jutsu'd him. Rimuru would've lost the Orc Lord didn't give up in the end. Also, even then the battle lasted for hours, its completely dark when they started fighting and sunrise when they finished.
Rimuru wouldn't have lost the fight against the orc lord but yeah,it would have lasted for way much longer than it already did and it would've been a much more difficult fight!....it depended on the skills and rimuru's predator was way better than the orc lord's starved(skill details in the novels)
