  • Many Native Hawaiians grew up eating poi; a Hawaiian dish wasn’t complete without it. But many Hawaiians have never pounded a batch of poi or really know what fresh poi tastes like. Daniel Anthony set out to change that. He’s been teaching people about its history, health benefits and how to make it themselves by hosting poi pounding get-togethers.
Seeing a market for the product, he created a small business that operates on the island of Oahu. This is the story of an entrepreneur and activist of the Kanaka people and his quest to pass down the traditional food of poi.

What a great man. It's so important to keep traditions alive, especially in places where they are under threat of losing their history.
