For those looking for a good Exorcist sequel, I highly recommend The Exorcist III. Actually written by the guy who wrote the book that The Exorcist is based on, I wish more sequels would follow its example of writing a story set in the same world but not necessarily all the same characters. Hell, I spent a fair share of the film wondering how exactly it was a sequel until the connections became clear. It's more of a mystery what's going on than the original, which is not a jab at the original but shows it's a different kind of story genre.

The film industry is so scared to try anything new for fear it will flop that they're rebooting shit in hopes that it'll succeed. "Remember this, it did well, let's do it again." But they genuinely have no idea why that thing succeeded in the first place. They're so out of touch with the average viewer and what we want that they struggle to come out with anything good. I have a feeling Coppola's movie is going to be a sleeper hit because it'll be something new and fresh, and the reason he didn't get funding is because it's a risk that the film industry doesn't want to take. I'd bet that they did offer him financing for the film but it was highly conditional on rewrites for "modern audiences", as critical drinker would say, and he didn't want studio interference. At least, that's what I'm hoping is the case.

There was an ad for Rebel Moon, in which the titular character was fighting 3 full sized men, roughly twice her size. Its scifi. I was ready and willing to handwave that away. Give the movie a chance.
But then I started the movie and the first 5 minutes was the titular character pushing a plow.
A plow sat in loose dirt, IE not hard to push and she struggled. So much so Zack added slow mo to the scene to highlight it. She can toss a man twice her size across a room, but she cant pick up a cantelope sized rock without a real struggle.
Thats when I quit the movie entirely and went looking for reviews of it and found out that I had made the wise choice in not wasting a second more on that movie.

The most hilarious part of the movie is that Snyder pretends radios don't exist. Which they didn't in the movies he's stealing his ideas from. But they do in super-space-future. So really anything that happens should probably be well-known rather quickly everywhere. Instead, the main character can off a squad of soldiers set specifically to watch her village and nobody has any idea it happened for months. Her whole town should have been razed within 24 hours.

Those three, plus Toy Story. You have to give Bond credit for never being worse than "pretty good" in its 25-film run over FIFTY years. Harry Potter was consistently good throughout its run, and (other than Michael Gambon's untimely death during the series) the core cast stayed with it from start to finish. I'd put LOTR a *very close* #2 behind Toy Story. Both series come as close to perfect story-telling as it gets in cinema, but I'm giving the very slight nod to Toy Story because it was created from whole cloth while LOTR was an adaptation from the novel (that's "novel", singular, written in -- ahem -- three parts).

I know The Exorcist. Is doing the direct sequel treatment. I get why these movies are being made. I rather prefer a remake. A reimagining of the first film. Having no connection to the original Exorcist film. Including the sequels and the sequel follow ups. I don't mind if a remake existed. It does need a sequel. It can be standalone and no interference of the rest to the franchise. Much like how Rob Zombie's Halloween remake films did before. More creative freedom than ever.

Why make Bill and Ted 4? There’s really nothing left you can do with Bill and Ted since we’ve already seen them fulfill their destinies now. Again.. If anything, why not just film an actual ending to the movie that isn’t just a shot of the Earth and a two sentence narration? I’m guessing that there wasn’t much of a choice at the time because lockdowns were probably starting before the ending could finish filming. But what’s stopping them from doing it now?
