My Dad was the Sulky Man. He sold Nassau Sulkys and we sold them from Northfield Ohio , Dover ,Yonkers ,Monticello and many more. I met some of the great drivers that ever raced Harness. Nassau made a bike for every problem a horse had or the style of a drive. I wouldn't change a thing how I grew up. I was the only kid in elementary school that could read a program and knew what a Quinella was. I was jogging horses with my sister at Roosevelt when I was 6. Also my dad was an unbelievable handy capper. He is missed tremendously.

How long have Drivers been using their own bike?? Was it Joe O'Brien who was still using the conventional sulky for years after the modified bike was proven a couple seconds faster. Some people just don't want change. Sure the horse is most important part, but if a bike makes up 2 seconds, the horse could be 5 lengths best and still lose. Last driver talks about comfort, but it has to also have the aerodynamics to be as fast or faster than others.
