      Just wondering where you got that neat little bag you carry your tool kit in.

    • @TheKnifeBeater
      @TheKnifeBeater  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got it as a gift years ago. It's the smallest of a 3 tool bag set that I believe came from Ace Hardware. The side of the pouch has the letters "AWP", but I'm sure it's just rebranded by whatever company is selling it. Sorry I don't have more info about it.

      @@TheKnifeBeater Thanks for the reply. If I'm not mistaken I think the AWP Brand is marketed at Lowe's. They make tool belts and other types of pouches/bags. I'll take a look there to see if they have them. Thanks so much.

    That tool kit is a really good idea. I just have my "knife" tools mixed in with my other tools, which is a pain in the a$$ now that I think about it. Thanks for the idea!

    Great video. That small pick up tool is a great idea. I remember using a long flexible one to retrieve a dropped bolt when working on an engine. I was just assembling a pocket clip yesterday and ran into the same magnetic screwdriver not aligning the screw with the hole problem.

    It seems I have to get some of those wiha bits. Most bits are just too soft. I can make them last a little longer by grinding a mm or 2 off the tip when they are worn out. Great video for anyone wanting to maintain his knives.

    • @TheKnifeBeater
      @TheKnifeBeater  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great idea about grinding those cheaper bits down to extend their life. Thanks John.

    Wiha bits hold up really well. I've got the t Handel set that come in a metal stand and has the sizes printed on the stand.jw knives and combat beads make some sweet drivers. I'm using the same stick loctite so much better than the liquid. Good stuff Jay

    • @TheKnifeBeater
      @TheKnifeBeater  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I've seen those kits. I came so close to buying them instead of what I currently have. I've had some really bad luck with that liquid Loctite, it gets into everything. Thanks Rodney.

      I’ve got the winged handled wiha torx set too and it is fantastic. The little stand (that’s also numbered) is a great addition too it. I think I would recommend that more than just the bit selector because you don’t have to then go get a bit driver and let’s be real no one is using the case of the bit selector as the damn driver lmao

  • @ak4dreday
    @ak4dreday ปีที่แล้ว

    you are not the first but a few of the reviewers must have forgot that you could use a marker or paint to write the bit size. Also you can attach a piece of paper with the diagram of the bit size and location. And for those who cant see the size written on the bit, again a little paint to fill in the carved out size with a bright yellow or whatever color works best lol

  • @ScottieG59

    I double up on the torx kits since I often have to deal with free spinning screws.

    Until recently I was unaware of your issue and Iwould like to know what you use for knife sharpener.I don't mean strop or honing but do you resharpen your own knifes and how.Ive got several units I've tried the spyderco sharpener and countless stones as when I first got into the hobby it seems the true pros all started by using stones and depending on the steal I'm okay with what I've got but with s35vn and now even higher end steal s35vn and m390 are the only ones I've tried.s90 and 110 I ha ever had to but I own a couple so the day will come

    I have the wiha bit set with a small wiha driver which has a magnet in it. I normally just put my screws on those, loctite them, and put them in sticking to the wiha bit. Does the claw tool work better than having the screw sticking to the bit?

  • @boss3251
    @boss3251 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow first time I've seen that claw tool. Got to get that thing. Trying to get those freaking clip screws in place has been the cause of way too many meltdowns.Lol

    • @TheKnifeBeater
      @TheKnifeBeater  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol. I'm right there with ya boss. I've lost so many black screws trying to drop it through the clip, not only missing the screw hole completely, but then it falls off the table. So, yeah, I know exactly what you mean about the "meltdowns".

  • @JaredTHunt-p2y

    any difference between Loctite 242 and 248 sticks? I got a 248, but I saw others using the 242.

    • @TheKnifeBeater
      @TheKnifeBeater  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I didn't even realize there was a different type of stick. I always thought the 242 was the liquid and the 248 was the stick. The kind I have does say "all-purpose" on it, but they are both blue, medium strength, and made for metal. Maybe they just changed the packaging from what I have to the 248 designation. Sorry I don't have better info for you.
