- This is a dedication song to Sekhmet. Some of you may not know this, but I used to compose soundtracks and various indie music. Music happens to be my first love! After I was given the task of learning Ancient Egyptian and compiling a practical spoken form of Egyptian, I thought perhaps one day I would bring my musical composition talents to bear and create some songs for the ηetjerεw. That day has finally come! I hope you enjoy this music. I have the words in the lyric video, and I am also including them below:

I love this and want so much to learn it by heart! Even slowed to half speed, I struggle to pick out the nuances between the different vowel sounds in this audio... is there a pronunciation guide availible I might use to learn how to pronounce from this transliteration? I will have a pronunciation guide and lessons on my Patreon page eventually. It's a lot of work and slow going but I hope to focus more on getting this out there in the future so that others can learn to speak this language. Thank you for your patience! This is a decades long project and I'm years invested into this, but still a long way to go. More coming soon!

Thanks for your great question. I'm from the USA, am a linguist and egyptologist working on my degrees, I am attending the university of Manchester (online), and I have also been a musician and composer of music since age 9. I was called to this work by Mä'ąt a few years ago and given the task of resurrecting a spoken form of middle Egyptian for liturgical purposes. I don't put my work forward as the definitive way of speaking Egyptian since there were many dialects and many variations of Egyptian over the course of thousands of years. But it is my hope this brings at least some of the sounds and a form of the language back into use for worship. Just as Coptic is still used as a form of worship, I am hopeful this version of Egyptian will be useful as well for prayers, hymns, songs and worship to the ηetjerεw! I have a Facebook group called "The temple of Mä'ąt" and I post completed work there. Frequently you will see transliterations and other content that I don't post here as it has no audio/video. So definitely check out that group and join up! See you there...
