I listened closely to this video and it struck me very deeply, but from an almost opposite place from where you come from. I am Jewish, born in upstate NY and all I knew about Judaism was that I am Jewish. I have lived in Israel now for 53 yrs. I am in Safed and there are missiles on a daily basis. So we can now defend ourselves, we don't need to cower. I have a lot to write about many of the subjects you mentioned but there are so many things to write I have to get my head together in order to write it down. You call the video 'very raw' which reminded me of your video "Get' which was also raw to the effect that I watched it about 3 times. It is really talent that you can do this on literally global level. It will take me some time to write all the thoughts etc which you evoked in me. I am sure your prayers are efficacious.

I feel your feelings Frieda. Thank you for sharing them. I also had an elevated experience in Meah Shearim last year. I am a modern American orthodox Jew. I was waiting for my son praying in a little stubble nearby, the sun was going down and the night and the stars were rising. Lights came on. The whole street was swarming with frum people rushing, kids, women with strollers, families, siblings. Pastries shops were in full blown, bookstores open. I felt going out of my own body and witnessing an eternal picture. I was in awe and tears started to pour. My soul was shouting: this is where you belong ! This was a first pre-Aliyah sign. This is where we all belong. And if we all do the right thing, Mashiah will finally come. Not when Jews are still glued to America, even if it is my country, I love her and will always be loyal to her.

As a non-Jewish person, a Christian, seeing the surge of anti semitism after October 7th has been like a waking nightmare, like living through every book and documentary I’ve ever read/seen about the Holocaust. I cannot believe people still hold these beliefs and I cannot even begin to imagine the collective pain the Jewish people must be experiencing. You are all in my thoughts continuously and I will be an ally to you, always. Am Yisrael Chai ❤

Frieda, thank you so much. I cried a bit after listening to you, because this is exactly how I feel about everything. I feel alone and scared after 7 October 2023. My family comes from the Soviet Union where they survived unimaginable antisemitic horrors. We live in Europe now and for a year, the harassment has been unreal. A few weeks ago, a teen was uncovered who planned an attack on the local Jewish community where my mom works. I'm so heartbroken. The most horrible thing was that in the eyes of many, we as people don't deserve to be treated with dignity and somehow, the core values of the democratic society aren't applying to us. This showed me how quickly our social norms can erode, it just starts with the Jews first. My grandpa's family narrowly escaped the Holocaust and now I try to calm him down that it will be okay because every week he says that "they will come for us". I can't do it anymore 😞 It's hard. Sometimes I think of all these poor hostages and it kills me inside.

I really think you misunderstand a Humanist perspective, it takes nothing away from people of any religion our ethics and morals are just as strong as any religion. Why should we declare a hypocritical belief in something we don't truly feel, that does undermine true believers. I believe should their unexpectedly be a god I meet upon death, I think a decent god would judge me on my actions to care and help other humans, not how many hours I didn't spend praying to a god to carry out actions I ought to be helping many religious and non religious people cooperate to create a peaceful and fruitful world for all regardless of belief. Enjoy your religion, I'm very unconcerned about a soul I may or maynot possess. I am extremely concerned about the conditions of life for my fellow human beings. I am concentrating on the here and now and the actions humans can take responsibility for. Life after death is something that can concern me at the time. Any comfort that people obtain from their religion I am all in favour of their are many devote people in many different religions, if they do good not harmful fighting other religions I support their beliefs for them. I'm Humanist and deserve equal respect for my view and actions in the world too. I wish you well and thank you for your concern for my welfare.

Thank you for being courageous enough to speak. I cannot imagine your internal struggle. There is the innocent voice of the child who had certain beliefs inculturated into her vs the voice of the adult, no longer innocent, who questions. I have never lived any part of the Hasidic experience. I believe one of the Mysteries of life is that God gave every human being free will. Self determination is a form of exercising what God has given us. I see Israel as a maturation in which some Jews have chosen to take responsibility for their life & step away from victimhood. I believe that we have no choice about being a victim as a child. As an adult if we are still being victims we have volunteered. I am learning a lot from watching your channel. Frieda, thank you. I wish I was closer so I could give you a big hug and we could gently shed tears together. I do not understand this “baby killer” image you kept repeating about the Jewish people. As a Christian, I was never taught or shown this but was shown that G-D’s chosen people were always under threat and mistreated even before Jesus was born. After the “invasion” last year, unrest broke out on our university campus. I wanted to go to the Hillel House to show my support. I had to walk through Muslims calling me names and had police protection to get closer to the building. I explained why I wanted to enter and the police got me closer to the entrance and the intercom and then was granted access into the building by those inside. I was kindly spoken with and offered a chair in a room where I think everyone might have been Jewish (except me.). I was offered tea which a woman brought to me and we talked. She said I would never be allowed to enter a synagogue during this war because of heightened security (& you taught me and I was allowed in in June!). And then they seated an elderly male next to me and introduced him as a Holocaust survivor and I saw his tattoo and wept. HOW can the world continue to hate like this? I am really struggling with Islamic followers at the moment- how with their violence towards Jews and Christians can I even like them let alone love them? And I watch a video from Frieda with gentleness and hope and I need to step back and my heart needs to do another summersault. PLEASE keep doing what you are doing. As someone else said, that GET one….. G-D gave you a very special gift; thank you for sharing it with so many of us who choose to listen and learn; change and grow.

I fell on your channel by chance and I am happy I did and was able to watch this video. Thank you for making it and sharing it and please keep it up here. People need to hear your words. It is extremely difficult presently given all the hate and polarization and silencing that we are witnessing which only compounds the pain, suffering and trauma. But please know that there are non-jews myself included who share the deep concern over the alarming levels of anti-Semitism we are witnessing. Anti-Semitism or any other form of hate is NEVER an acceptable response to anything, period. Know you are not alone and we are with you in praying for a more peaceful new year for all 🙏🤗.

I’m glad that you made and published this video and I hope it was cathartic for you. I’m not Jewish but for what it’s worth, you don’t need to apologize for your feelings towards Israel. The people who are now openly exhibiting their hatred for Jews, especially in supposed institutions of higher learning, prove that Jews can only count on Israel for their safety.

Dear Frieda thank you for your explanation of the historic Hasidic approach to Israel. It fleshed out the picture so commonly used. Your honesty and feelings are valid and most welcome. You are brave and a beautiful soul. I am reminded of a saying I have heard for years “the Jews are the people the world loves to hate.” Sad but true. Let us thank Hashem for the strength we have been given to carry on and be a good and creative people. You are an example of this gift. ב״ה

Frieda, I have been watching your content for many months now and find you so impressive. You are balanced, fair, and teach us so much about the culture you grew up in.
I’m a Gentile who attends a Messianic synagogue and my heart breaks for what ALL my Jewish brothers and sisters are facing, both existentially in Israel and in the diaspora. I never dreamed I would see this level of antisemitism in my lifetime. I pray you won’t take it personally and that you won’t allow it to hurt your heart.
Know there are more of us who believe in love than those who believe in hate. ❤

I think of you often and pray for your tours, the education you give, the joy you bring and your passion for drawing people together. The devil has hated God’s chosen from times beginning. But the Word says Israel will never be destroyed. I’m sorry for the suffering, but confident that His people will endure and survive. Keep promoting peace. And I pray for the peace of Jerusalem. ❤️

Freida, my heart breaks listening to this video. The depth of your feelings is emblematic of the way we are supposed feel about fellow human beings. Your pain, so evident in your words, that people can feel this way is not naive but it is child-like in the best way in that it is a prayer for a better world that still does not exist. In the Christian Bible Matthew chapter 18, verse 3 recounts Jesus telling his adult followers “Truly I say to you, unless you change and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” It was recounted that Ronal Reagan once said that if it wasn’t for women, men would still be wearing loin cloths. Women are the civilizers in civilization and your pain reflects thats. I’ve been an admirer of you and what you’re about. You are a bridge builder in so many ways. Thank you for this video. “May the Lord bestow favor on you, and grant you peace.”

I am sorry you are walking through this twilight zone in NYC where hatred, ignorance, and scapegoating has been so inflamed during these last 365 days of incredible sorrow. Being a person of the Bible, I feel a connection to Israel, though so small in light of your experience, that has brought me to tears of immense sadness and also of the joy of triumph in the face of hostage releases. 🙏go out for you and for Israel. I can identify with all you are saying. Life is very scary for us right now with violence and vile slogans right here where I live too. Thank you for open your heart and express for what we all live through right now. When my children traveled to Israel on what is called the birthright trip they were moved to tears, feeling the arrived home! They were raised in SA in an exclusive Jewish community and as young adults we moved to Germany. We always thought of Israel as home !

They are NOT HATING on them. They struggle with seeing secular jews have no connection to their religion and faith. Who hate G- d and his Torah. Some secular jews are the most self hating people around. It is painful to see the behavior of " JEWS" in our holy land. They hate the religious jews who are on the path that G- d chose for us. Frieda, I’m a proud Jew who has had a different upbringing in than you. I was taught rightly so that Isreal is & will always belong to the Jewish people as it’s been gifted to us by the true G-D not recently but thousands of years ago as it’s written in the Torah (bible) & even the koran. I’d like to thank you for today’s pod-cast & the other ones in the past. Some I agree with, some not but thank G-D we live in a society that we are allowed to express our feelings. You have been very fair to express positive feelings about your & our upbringing. The world at large judges us unfairly way too many times. All without information about who we really are. As we can see since this barbaric act that these horrible people decided to perpetuate last year. Now some in our society think they can scream stupidity about us when it truth it’s not us but those monsters that perpetuates these acts. Too many uninformed & ignorant people are instigating hate instead of spreading love or even excepting that this beautiful world that we live in is full of a diverse population. They want us to except them but in truth they don’t except us as a just people. Once anyone gets to know us they can see the lies that are being spread around. Hate & ignorance darkens the world & society where as love & acceptance brightens. History is proof of that.
A simple message to all the non-Jews : we’d like to thank you personally for standing on the side of truth. Your words & love are well received & felt. As history has shown us (unfortunately) too many would & can & do side with the evil population just so they don’t get effected by them. But there are some who can & do understand that right is right & evil will always be wrong. So I’d like to say again thank you for your support. Please continue to show the world that we are a wonderful community of people who care about righteousness.

Because today was Oct 7 I struggled a lot to be on social media, feeling (similarly to a sentiment you expressed) like I HAD to say something, anything, to fight the tide of misunderstanding and hatred that I've been seeing online for the past year (often from ppl I have known for a long time) In the end I did post. I am not a jew, but I too feel the fear, that any one who loves the G-d of the Bible is hated. As an American who sees my nation supporting antisemitic actions in schools. We think we can side step this conflict but it is now. I am so thankful that you shared your thoughts. I am so repentant for every person who would send you a beautiful lady, hate, shame, blame. Thank you for sharing with your viewers life after October 7. As a Jewish woman, having grown up in New York, I was aware of antisemitism and yet did not understand it. Following the horrific attack by Hamas on Israel, I heard groups from Jew for Peace to extreme left organizations calling for the end of genocide by Israel (some I thought were my friends). . No other time in my life, was I more confused and saddened by people's words and actions. Fortunately, I heard the heartfelt words spoken by Herbert Pagani back n 1976 - "Pleading for My Land Israel". I recommend that all take a few minutes LISTEN to Herbert Pagani on TH-cam. :
