This film grew on me. Some of his shitty movies that I like are Out of Reach, Out for a Kill and Belly of the Beast is actually my favorite of all of his movies. But I like Halloween 5 also.
Am sure it’s mentioned in the commentary that all the sparks and flashes were a substitute for blood. Post 9/11, it was thought that nobody wanted to see violent action movies any more. Ironically, it’s this movie with its sparks and flashes that people didn’t want to see.
Hey Matt, what are your thoughts on the Seagal/Steve Austin DTV action film Maximum Conviction? It's basically the same movie as this since both are about bad guys taking over a prison...I thought it wasn't that bad IMO. This film has issues but for me it's decent for what it is too. That's me of course but thanks for the rant and can't wait for the anger to continue on the next films LOL.
9:15 Well bro I could answer that because right after 9/11 hollywood felt the people needed ''watered down'' action/horror/comedies until the a year or 2 later then they started doing ''R'' rated films again
This movie is kind of one of those films that I enjoy for all the wrong reasons and end up laughing at all of the absurdities. I still had fun with some of the fight scenes, but I found myself laughing a lot in some scenes because things were so ridiculous, including the part when Kurupt and that other guy jumped off from the floor above and started firing guns. Even I was like "What the HELL?!" Same with Seagal trying to talk all hood. I wrote a review for it on a hip-hop blog that I have. It's called "E-Squared's Hip-Hop Blog," by the way.
whats funny is the woman in this movie mia pepples is about the same age as segal but she dose much better in the fight she has in this movie then him which is so funny you notice they never let mia fight segal because he would have been shown up so bad lol
18:41 That's fucked up Matt but funny LOL! 19:39 What's funny you bring up Sammo Hung bro because he's always been fat and he always done has own fight scenes and still moves pretty fast more then Seagal from 2002 til today IMHO! 20:45-21:04 Your right it does bro ROFL!!!!! 24:27 FREE WILLY ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 26:28 It was drugs! This was a really, really fun ass rant brother I laughed so hard I was almost at tears as for the film isn't munch I liked Ja Rule more then DMX as actor the only film I didn't care for him as a actor was in the ''Assault on Percent 13''remake I remember being a time waster but it does have a lot problems but there's more after this one that I flat out hated I wish you the very best bro LOL!
This film is first really bad. Patriot & Ticker where glimpses of whats coming. Half past is shitty-bad but not in bottom-10 of his. One of the few seagal films released with commentarytrack on dvd
Ah, Half Past Dead. The film where Steven Seagal became Steven Seboomboom. When I first saw this film, I hated it. It is just a lame version of The Rock. Don Michael Paul is a hack; I don't know why he keeps getting jobs, considering the fact that he has yet to make a film that's actually worth a damn.
TBH I don't hate this movie either I saw it on cable probably more than 10 years ago and didn't really mind it. It's a bit vague in my head but the title and cover rings bells now and I thought this is probably one of Ja Rules better acting performances I've seen in a long time and the opening scene is quite memorable with that nasty bitch of a detective. Him and stephen play it off well together in this I thought
"Whale and a black guy" Matt, you are truly a Fool ! Lol! I rented this from Hollywood video when it first came out and fell asleep. I hated this movie and haven't seen it since then. The only part I like is when the guard is beating up Ja Rule because it's funny watching the stunt double get knocked around.
i actually like Half Past dead i know this movie has some of bullshit shit in movie i like to see DMX in movie but he doesn't like seagal i like Ja Rule but he is good i guess not great as DMX good review Matt that's your opinion

Out for a Kill is seriously entertaining to me. The Blu-ray disc is an unnecessarily high quality transfer.

Exit Wounds goes hard. All of his movies entertain in one way or another.
Matt, are you gonna review his TV show "True Justice"?
No...his dozens upon dozens of direct to DVD films will already murder me...so I won't bother with his show.
i actually like his direct to DVD staff i love true justice, just check out his movies no need to check out true justice if it is killing you
The DMX song and name of game they can't swearing out for no fucking reason because the movie is PG-13 witch is still bad idea for movie.
He said "Morris Chestnut(s)"!!!! LMBO!!!

I'll talk about it when I get to it.

really well thats still not a huge age gap either way she would smoke him in a fight in this movie
The last theatrical film for Steven Seagal.
I love your Steven Segal rants Matt but on Segals behalf he doesn't write all the scripts
Half Past Dead was a masterpiece compared to much of what followed. But the PG-13 pretty much killed it.
18:41 That's fucked up Matt but funny LOL!

I remember when half past dead came out and I thought that looks terrible and I was right.
This was a film I watched with my cousin a while back, and we both hated it.
No Doubt This Is Seagal's Worst Theatrical Release, So Dull & Boring. This Makes On Deadly Ground Look Like Schindler's List In Comparison.
Another piece of trash, but coming up are much more worse Seagal direct to video films.
God this is one of the dullest action movies in existence!!!! 😒😒😒
