This is a great video and a nice explanation of the experience. I love the enthusiasm and respect for the fish and the whole outing. I want to experience the Big Horn! Thumbs up!
Grew up there! Fort Smith and the Yellow Tail Dam is on the Crow Reservation. You really did a good job of capturing the natural beauty of that place. Thanks for visiting!
I watched this video and then located the fly shop to setup a trip. once in a life time trip for me. These people treated us so good, food was great, cabin was nice. Our guide new exactly what to put us on and we killed it. Recommend going here I know I'm going back again next year.
More than another video of someone catching fish, Thank You for including the instructional aspects and the input from the guides. Very informative. Great job.
Super excellent video, beautiful fishery, stunning fish, love the chat and technical stuff, what a great guide. Looking good from the UK, great job thanks for sharing. Tight lines
Thank you for showcasing one of my favorite rivers in such an entertaining and informative way! Love the content and as always, looking forward to more!
It's nice that they don't lie about fish length on this channel, I was braced for a 2 to 3 inch exaggeration that never came. The 18" and 22" browns were legitimate. The fat rainbow was better, but lined up, and I was glad to see it released quickly.
I have to say the Big Horn River is the best natural trout water* in America. * Natural being not during a spawn like Salmon or Steelhead the fish live here year round. My largest this year 2024 was a 23" bow and one of my buddies caught a 25" brown and there are lots of quality fish around. We doubled up every day. Master the Moss Slap! If you are thinking of going GO you don't need anything but clothes and a MT fishing license. Meals, Guides, rigs/flies, and N/A drinks are all included when using Big Horn Angler.
The trout kicked my ass on the Bighorn when I was out there last summer, but I will get redemption! I hammered out the same spot ya'll started on the second day and had I did not have the same luck. Sweet vid.
I fished the Big around 2010 when it had just flooded and was still maybe 6ft above normal... fishing a wet with a nymph dropper I hooked a DOUBLE!!... Top was a Rainbow... and the bottom?... LOL... was a SUCKER...
We fisked Big Horn river first week in July 2019 and we really struggled with high water leavels och poor hatches. Was the fishing better summer 2020? Hope to be back summer 2022💕
Sorry to hear that, yes, the fishing was good in the summer. Recommend you call the fly shop and discuss with them options for time of the season to come to ensure you get what you're looking for. cheers
Bob, good question. This was shot last summer on the Bighorn. Guides say the fishing has been getting better and better. We hope to do another video there in 2021 or 2022.
Wonderful video Mark 🎣👍, that 'BIG' Brown trout was beautiful 👌. Big Horn River, has been on my bucket list, for 5 years. I didn't know you can fish CRAP 😲.Could you fish for carp from the bank 🤔, boilies , corn, ground bait mix's.
Recently went in July for some trout and the fishing was super slow and the spawn wasn’t that great in terms of numbers so not that many trout compared to what there used to be
I’ll be there in two weeks. Haven’t been to the Bighorn in over a decade and can’t wait.
This is a great video and a nice explanation of the experience. I love the enthusiasm and respect for the fish and the whole outing. I want to experience the Big Horn! Thumbs up!

Thanks Jeremy, we try hard to ensure there is no BS about fish sizes here. We all get enough of that from our fishing friends!
love that place great vid !
Great place. Cool video. It's funny watching the gentle release of a sucker. I throw them on the bank. That's how I was taught.
Awesome fun. Good ending.
Another great video; thank's guys. That drone footage of the carp take; epic!
Glad you enjoyed it

Love that company. They make beautiful fritz for blobs. Who comes up with a pattern like that? You do mr. McPhail.
Ok that was dope! What a cool guide too. My favorite part is the drone view of the carp taking you for a really good run!
Awesome thank you!
Awesome fishing wish I was there, you guys are so lucky. Shout out for the camera and editing work
Thanks, we will pass this on to both. Ryan did an excellent job as always
My favorite river to fish. I grew up on that river.
Great video...lots of nice fish...But Carp?...My Gramps used to call them Bugle mouth Trout so...tight lines
Amazing
I live a mile from the river
Good work guys, miss that place. Any places for sale down there? 😉
We understand they are. Isolation helps
Carp are awesome on fly
What time of year (when) did you fish the Bighorn?
Mark was there in late august
What weight rod were you using?
I fished the Big around 2010 when it had just flooded and was still maybe 6ft above normal... fishing a wet with a nymph dropper I hooked a DOUBLE!!... Top was a Rainbow... and the bottom?... LOL... was a SUCKER...
Need to get back out there. Went in 2019 and the flows were ridiculous. Hopefully this summer!
Joey we hear they have not had much snow thus far, so going earlier might be a better choice if you're concerned
Is that just ordinary yarn. That you're using for an indicator
It is. Dipped in floatant.

I'm curious, what year was this footage shot? (No, this isnt a covid slam). Good to see the river making a comeback.

With carp being an invasive species why would you release it back in to the water?
PMD?
PMD = Pale Morning Dun
Like to hear your impressions between your Grey Reef, WY and Bighorn, MT experiences.
Do people live here year round? Seems kind of boring if your not into fishing...
we're all different and like other small towns, some people enjoy the peace and quiet of that environment. never any traffic issues!
