Where in South Delhi are the spare parts like knobs and the part attached to knob which pushes the ignition point available.The make is BPL.
Don't know I do not live there. Try to visit local market you might be able to find one.

No need of greasing just make sure that you fit the gaskets well

Could you tell the price for a new part for auto ignition. Also what is the price for a new plate which is put on the burner. I hv elica cooking range.
Price for new auto ignition valve varies from 150rs to 700rs depending on quality of that valve available.
For the plate of steel it prices around 60rs to 140rs

I did as you directed but now the gas wont turn off when i light it with a match stick and there is no gas fire from although there is a spark...
I think you must again try it you might have not fitted all things properly. Or else get the whole ignition replaced.
I think the position of your shaft is wrong. That's why it won't turn off. There are holes in the shaft. To position the shaft, there are only 2 positions , and need to be align vertically and you will know why by putting in the knob. Since there are 2 positions only, the right position is the one where when is in OFF position, there shouldn't be HOLE facing the HOLE that let gas in.

Fitting may not be done correctly remove and reinstall. Make sure that the controller area is dirt free.
