I prefer Florida for the exact same reason Jerk does. When I saw the California version, I did get to sit. Sideways... on a planter by the train station... before the show started, after which I had to stand on the planter.
"Burninating the countryside is a very rude activity!" Whoever put that line into the script, you are awesome! And was that ANIMAT?! And MATPAT?! I never expected to see them in these videos!
I just remembered there's a version of Fantasmic at Tokyo DisneySea that's actually pretty cool but worth looking into if you haven't already - like this show it's the usual cavalcade of Disney characters and moments recreated with music and lights, the main differences being that since it takes place entirely on water with floats that constantly move around (including a sorcerer's hat-shaped one that plays video), a slightly altered score with a new song, and that Mickey has a more active role in it than it just being his dream - here's he's conjured up his own fantasies and becomes so proud that he brags about it. The Magic Mirror from Snow White tricks him into going inside itself (...I could have phrased that better) and unleashes the villains, and Mickey is the only one that can stop them. They even did some new animation for the show. It would be its own complete entity were it not for the theme and the climax. Still, it's pretty awesome.
+TheITinFIT - I've seen bits of the Tokyo Fantasmic on TH-cam, and briefly considered addressing it in this review...but all any of us really had to say about it was "this also exists and is completely different but we haven't seen it in person", and the last thing this review needed was to be EVEN LONGER.
+doggans Yeah, guess there's no point in padding it out. I only mention it because I got a video celebrating its 5th anniversary in my subscription feed.
+TheITinFIT - If I ever find myself at Tokyo DisneySea (and that's a BIG if, but who knows), I think a sequel to this video will be in order. Among other videos, of course.
I was actually lucky enough to not only go to Japan with my family and go to Tokyo DisneySea last summer, but to also catch their Fantasmic show. Which was a bit amusing in hindsight since we weren't really trying to watch the show but we kinda just...walked into it as we were making our way to the Mediterranean Harbor. ...and yeah, the show was pretty awesome. Had familiar plot beats from the California and Orlando shows, but it kind of cool on its own with the noted floats where the entire show took place on. Also don't forget the Stitch sequence. Since, y'know, Japan freakin' LOVES Stitch.
Also that one time Dopey fell off the Florida boat and they removed it for a while. In fact they have like a billion plans for when things go wrong since the characters just went on stage

(I'm sorry, but a mountain is WAY COOLER than a tavern on a little island. - All the disney clips (Call it a commercial tie in all you want, but I see it as a love letter to classic Disney with a few modern films thrown in because we still grew up with them) - All the villains (I know that they're a little more forced in, but in the grand scheme of things it is cool to see all the disney villains that we all know and love. It's also a greater threat for Mickey to overcome. Even if they all go out like a bunch of pussies.) - And the Jafar snake was pretty cool.
+Mauricio Vasquez I do to. I also like how Florida has its own stage, that way things won't get in the way like what's happening to California now. And I also like all the villains. If you're going to call "all the forces of evil" you better have more than 4 guys

They add the villains from Florida's Fantasmic, Cruella, Scar, Frollo, Jafar and Hades, while also adding new villains to the show, Lady Tremaine, Gaston and Dr. Facilier
The laughing montage is good but I think you guys regretted not putting in Hamsterviel, Dr Drakken, The Joker, Beavis and Butt-Head, Mandark, Mojo Jojo, Sideshow Bob, Freddy Krueger and Dr Evil.
1:05-1:13, I think you mean "Cam Clarke is Julie Newmar", because... I never thought Jeremy returned to voice Scar in Fantasmic. It sounded more like Cam Clarke doing his Simba voice. Besides, his "evil laugh" is stock footage roars and when he's defeated, he sounds like Frank Welker growls. Anyone else agree with me?
+ZNKChannel - You may be right. Wikipedia claims that Irons returned to play Scar for Fantasmic, but we all know how reliable the phrase "Wikipedia claims" is. At any rate, the Irons-as-Newmar photoshop amused me too much to not do.

AniMat does indeed do a better Figment than me, but I felt the cameo montage gag only worked if it was cameos of people who hadn't appeared in the review yet, the way the vast majority of the boat passengers hadn't appeared in Fantasmic yet. Having AniMat also play Figment would've undermined that gag.

I'm not actually greenscreened; I was using a tripod because I didn't have the heart to drag my camera guy to Downtown Disney for just one shot, and the lighting was weird at that spot at that time of evening. You're not the first person who told me it looks greenscreened, though.
I'm pissed you didn't show old videotape footage from the early days of the show (if they exist online). If the show really did come to light in the 90s, one would expect old camcorder footage of those Disney attractions to be uploaded to video sharing websites like this........
