Enzo Maresca's men dominate most of the game against Brentford tonight who have been somewhat of a boogeyteam against us in recent years especially at Stamford Bridge and despite a late concelation goal, we come away from the game with the 3 points and in doing so capitalise on Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City dropping points!

Maresca is a tactical genius. He is everything that Pochetino was not. The team may be inexperienced, but they gain that experience from fantastic coaching and tactical nous from the manager. Each game has it's own individual plan, because each opponent is different.

Whether we are in the title race or not we must never admit it. The last 2 season have really humbled us, some of us I swear to god have had some serious anxiety issues at times watching us. We haven’t been competitive in the league title situation for nearly 10 years… none of us would of even considered challenging for the league and many of us will remember years gone by when we have started strong and been considered league contenders (Scolari & Di Matteo) then the wheels fell off. Lefts not get ahead of ourselves and take one game at a time coz that’s what real champions do

Liverpool fan here and you lot have played some really good football this season. But just a question, not even trying to be toxic, salty or provocative. Why are lots of your fans saying you’re not in a title race, when you clearly have the squad depth, manager and players to challenge deep into the season? Would be interested to know and good luck for the rest of the season 👍🏼
Youngest squad in the league, players that haven't played much together and a brand new coach. This is why we are cautious. We knew we were on the up, but didn't expect to be in title conversations until maybe next season at the earliest.

@noahj68 also important to note our defence (especially sanchez) can be really and I mean REALLY shaky at times and you need a good defense to win titles

Attack is a form of defense. Also if attack is your strongest point then use it. When your manager isn’t a coward it clearly shows how much better the squad is than we thought.

I think tonight was Sanchez’s best game in a Chelsea shirt. Cucurella & Caicedo were excellent my only criticism tonight would be we never put the game to bed and missed a few really good chances. Sanchez played his 1 in 20 games peak level football and we still almost drew. We will be in a title race if we get a new GK and CB in Jan but as it stands I'm just still not convinced unless we get really lucky like this in every game we suffer in.
