It just reminds me of those frantic space dog fights or those moments where rockets are flying overhead and you are frantically trying to move forward while cracking off that mini gun and those grenaaades!!!! Fucking love this game. Hard as hell but a damn fine experience if you can overlook it's obvious flaws
man such great memories of this game that eerie dark space music its a shame it came out around the time when internet wasnt so big not many knew about it had to play demo discs to see games back then aww remember that lol now a hidden gem theres no game like no man sky dosent count xD walk around your ship in flight go to your armoury pick the gun dogfights in space hunt down criminals you literally felt like a bounty hunter hard game too hope a developer gets inspired to make this game imagin how badass it would be nowdays 😎
The effort is appreciated. I did have the proper listing at one point, and had even tried putting it into the description but TH-cam was having an off day at the time. The songs are largely named 'Action1", "Action1a", and such, with various music stings and ambient tracks generically named, so I suppose I just decided to crossfade them into one video, hence why it's a little difficult to notice when songs end and begin. The track at 1:02:12 too, in case any one doesn't already know, is actually the Rollins Band. The band formed by Black Flag singer Henry Rollins, the very voice of Mace Griffin himself.
Such an underrated game, and such a great soundtrack. The Action themes are all great. Wish this game could come out on Steam. I know a PC version exists, so it's a shame it's not on there. I know the original developer is defunct, though, or they merged into another company, which then split into 2 companies I think...I read about it a few years ago, sounds like a complicated history. I wonder who even owns the rights to Mace Griffin at this point.
I would say that it is Activision Blizzard who own it now, assuming Vivendi fully owned the licence when it was developed by Warthog Games. Couldn't see myself enjoying a sequel/reboot made by Overwatch/Call of Duty/Destiny folk, if I'm honest. The actual developers now I believe work as TT Fusion under Warner Bros. I think they make the Lego games.
The Mace Griffin soundtrack doesn't really have actual track names, but that music is part of "Action 7". It's either Action 7 or Action 7a. All the action songs have an "a" version, which as far as I can tell is just a shortened version of the full track.
@@TheSteelStallion doesn’t seem to be the same one that’s the main menu theme but doesn’t match when you view the first cutscene idk this soundtrack it really damn good though I must say
@@59spadesofalife52By introduction you mean the first ever cutscene with the voiceover explaining the overall background of the story? I assure you that's the same one I've time stamped. It'll sound different for the first second because the tracks are crossfaded for this video. I've even double checked with my still installed copy of the game and it's definitely the same track. Unless you mean the introduction with all the rangers in the first mission, which is 47:24, ambient music.
It's safe to assume there's copyright on it on some level. Based on how limited the games audience is, it'll be somewhat difficult to find who actually has claim to it, though.
@@TheSteelStallion Yeah, the story of Warthog Games is sad. The rights got sold and resold, moved and moved again. I've been listening to this video since 2015 btw xD.
@@TheSteelStallion An outright rebook/remake would be the best in my opinion because I wouldn't like to leave this game as it is. The gameplay is flawed in a few ways that just spite me whenever I come back to this game. Also, the story could be done, let's say... better in some segments.
Krugo is setup by simply mentioning his name like 5 times in the first half of the game but never shown, it would be nice if there was a mission in the prison mines after the prologue where Krugo saves Griffin and they share an adventure together or something. This way, the character of Krugo wouldn't be a total stranger to the player when they have to rescue him in the second half of the game. Also, it would bring Krugo's and Griffin's relation full circle, as in the beginning Krugo saves Griffin and then Griffin saves Krugo. Grier has a similar problem. She is in the prologue, then she dissapears and reappears in the last 2 missions. She doesn't have any real impact on the story in the prologue so when she appears after the whole game, I didn't even know who she was. The only oddity is that she is the one female ranger. Schmidt is probably established the best out of these three, as you actually get to spend some time with him before the Whistleblower mission. Griffin helps him, Schmidt gives him intel, Griffin goes on a mission where Schmidt guides him the whole way. I do not understand why they've decided to make the story go in the way they did in the Whistleblower mission. I don't know if it was "the style" back in 2003 to kill off all friends of the main character or not. But if they wanted to do it, why not? However, they've done it in such a cheap and unimpactful way. Krugo, the best friend of Griffin, gets executed without even saying some last words. Krugo's cheap death only bothers me because I've played the game like 6 times and I've actually grown to like that character in the missions he is in. Senator Schmidt's death... is even worse because unlike Krugo, the player actually has an attachment to him, and I believe he also goes down without a fight or anything more. As for Grier... of course the badass woman had to die. These characters could've died while trying to help Griffin or perhaps even sacrifice themselves to save him. In the game, they kind of die while helping Griffin on paper but in practice: Krugo and Schmidt just drag themselves behind Griffin's back the entire Whistleblower mission, they don't attack with the player, they don't even defend, instead they stand in that one door 4 snipers behind it and get shot so the mission fails. When they stop tailing behind Griffin, they get captured off camera and Griffin willingly comes there, doesn't fight back, gets captured and almost dies with them. Thank god for that Grier plot armor. One of the main villains, Richter, has the same problem as Grier in that, he appears in the first mission, then is absent for the entire game, and then appears for the last 2 missions. One last thing, Moscone just outright dissapears from the story after the Whistleblower mission, no scene with him, dialogue, monologue, not a single scene with him in the epilogue. And these were just the story problems xD. One thing that bothered me the most was that, in Whistleblower, when you're landing the ship where Krugo, Schidt and Barbo are on their knees, you can't use the ships minigun to kill everybody in the entire hangar.
My ChildHood game i played on the PS2 as kid and finished it on the PC as an adult good times
1:12:30 one of my favorite bits!! So intense during exploration!!
Some of it sounds straight out of star wars. Some awesome very memorable and intense feeling motifs!!
26:03 man this motif is sooooo fucking epic it sends shockwaves thru my spine especially during frantic combat... Awesome !!!
IKR. I mean, this sounds like something Disney/Marvel or WB/DC would use for the MCU or DCEU films nowadays.

Why do not you put in parts? Separete the songs, it gets better. Does this please.

If Mace Griffin becomes a film, Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale or Channing Tatum should portray him.
