Guido, as a reviewer you shouldn't feel obligated to avoid subjects like awkward User Interfaces for fear of upsetting the manufacturer. it's your opinion and if nobody shared their feedback progress and evolution would happen a lot more slowly. thanks for the upload, great job! :)
altern8ive Thanks ! Oh don't you worry, I think Audi is one of the few manufactures who actually does care. Their german pr-team is great and I'm not worried at all about upsetting anybody. It's just that I struggled to say I didn't like it, because the idea behind it is really good and Audi rightfully takes pride in it. It's just the design of the rev-counter and speedo that looks abit cheap to me. Look at the dials in the new Mercedes S-Class, those are digital too, but look anaolog and classy to me. Maybe I should have made that abit clearer :)
+TheGetawayer Performance auto manufacturers should never forget that after the driver gets over trying to avoid the slight dinks and scratches on a new car, that they ultimately DRIVE the car. I too value the manual. But the road-type might dictate what transmission one would feel at home with. I liked again your mention of its comparison with the Cayman S. It's something to reckon with.
Another great review Guido! I wasn't too impressed by this car's looks when it first came out, but the looks are really starting to win me over now, and your beautiful visuals definitely help! This seems like a fun car but I think the RS model is the one to get, that awesome sounding 5 cylinder would certainly address the noise complaints! It's great to see Audi providing you with test cars the way you prefer them, and it's great to see that Audi even offers the TT with a manual still for this new generation. Looking forward to the next review!
This is the Audi TTS I will buy if you bring it to U.S.A (Audi)! Speaking as a happy former Audi TT owner my biggest complaint is and was the fact that you never offered a true manual option to the TTS line up here the U.S.A . I know Audi you may say the you brought the TT/RS State side, but what I wanted hint, hint, wink, wink ;) was a daily driver. TheGetwayer nailed it on the head with this review about a balance between sporty and comfort meaning hitting the check list of a daily driver's car.(manual+engagement=)
The tts really is a fantastic car, I have a 2015 manual, my previous car was a tt tdi which I had from new. Your reviews are far more informative than many I have seen thanks
for me looks are everything in a sports car, handling and power too yes but looks first and i love this 3rd gen tt I cant wait to see it in person, they really did well on this one. It's futuristic style done in a modern way so it looks like a beautiful finished car and not a concept I love it :D
As an owner of the '08 3.2L TT cabrio, I really appreciate your thorough, honest evaluation of this fun to drive vehicle. With you, I feel quite comfortable with the capabilities of the TT. I find it very responsive and quick while still titillating my comfort needs. I like the looks of the dash in the videos, but haven't made the time to go to the dealer to see it in person. I typically like digital dashes, so will be glad to see this in action. My biggest concern is the updates to the maps that DVDs are so woefully lacking. Audi charges ridiculous prices for their upgrades IF they ever put them out, so I'm using a dedicated GPS which was half the price and does twice as much, but has to sit on top of the dash. :( Your other comments are all well placed. Great job!
Mark Johnson Thanks for the detailed and postive feedback, Mark ! I really do appreciate it ! Hope you get to drive the new TT and let me hear your thoughts. Greetings from germany, Guido
Great review. We don't see the new TT in the states for another year. I test drove the Cayman and hated it. Leg room sucked and low power. The TT is great on leg room and much more fun to drive. Better looking too. Thanks Guido.
I love your reviews as always, one of my favourite on TH-cam. You speak the truth and touch on key points about the non-European tires and the over complication of the controls of the interface Too many reviewers get too technical, but you find a great balance in connecting with the average car enthusiast who might buy these cars. Having said that, I am quite happy with my 981 and I doubt the TT would ever sway me over :)
As ever a fantastic review! A great car for anyone to go out and drive quick! Your previous TTRS review helped reinforce my purchase of the Plus version and it regularly gets driven as you say 'Spirited' around wet Welsh UK Roads, I hope you get to test the 2017 version soon! I do however think for most drivers the S-Tronic is the perfect match : )
That all in one screen is holding me back. Wish they had went with the A3 hide in dash screen. I get what you talk about how there are people that just want a sporty car that at time drive fun but most of the time just for relaxing cruising. Reason why all in one screen turn me off a bit. Nice review. I still will consider this
Great review again Guido. Quite tempted by one of these or a previous gen TTRS (needs to be manual for me either way) - I can't tolerate an overly firm ride though... any thoughts?
Fantastic review. I will have to watch your other videos! Great, clear English. In some regions of the USA, roads are not as nice and smooth. Do you have any sense of the road comfort on less than ideal roads?
Thanks for the honest review. You made several good points about the gauges, gas pedal, complicated interface, and tires. When I hear honest opinions (good and bad), I trust the reviewer that much more. I thought you struck a good balance of saying good things about the car and the type of driver that my prefer its abilities.
Great review Guido. I bought a 2016 S3 rather than a TTS as I have two children and a wife. I needed a little extra interior room. Anyway loving it so far. Keep up the great work. Cheers from a Canadian fan.
+david dykeman Thanks David ! The S3 is a lovely car, I have good memories about driving it on the autobahn following a guy in a Ferrari 430, haha :) - Guido
I love the Audi TT design and I've been a big fan. My only gripe would be the digital gauge - I prefer analog hands down. If I want GPS, ill use my smart phone. If they have optional gauge to analog, i would totally purchase one.
Great Review,Getawayer.......What about the noise cancelling inside the cabin. Do you think that you could have a smooth and relaxing journey in terms of longer distances? for example, from the south of Germany to the south of france..
Great review. The TT-RS will be an instant legend. A 5-cylinder in that body? Sign me up. Order one early! You are the first to bring this up in video. VW ruined the pedal setup with MQB. We have both a mk6 and mk7 GTI. The mk6's pedals are attached to the floor like the R8 & 911. The mk7's are attached from the top. Shane the TT did this too. They likely did this to increase foot room numbers (they also reduced fuel capacity).
The Getawayer, I have a question for you. I currently own a Focus ST and I've owned many manual transmission cars, and I'm thinking of getting a MK7 Golf R. My question to you is, should I go with the manual over the DSG? I love to "row my own" and I'm a little leary of going DSG because I'm afraid it wouldn't be engaging enough as a driving enthusiast, what one would you purchase? Thanks in advance!
Best car reviews on youtube in my opinion. I'm just following you since a few weeks when I was looking for a cla45 amg review and nearly watched every review of your channel. I first I wanted to buy this beautiful tts but finally decided to get the cla 45 (although you mentioned some negative things about it) I really hope it was the right Decision. Do you think you can compare the tts and cla 45 amg or are these two totally different cars in your opinion? Best greetings from Bonn and stay as you are and of course keep reviewing ;)
Timbo1306 Thank you ! Very happy to hear you enjoy the videos....Well, I think you could compare them but obviously there is the Audi S3, which I reviewed after the CLA45...What I like about the S3 is that it costs less, you can a manual and on the road it feels almost as fast to me as the CLA45...Still the CLA45 is a great car and with the upgraded transmission, should drive better than my testcar :)
You didn't mention turbo lag. Any impressions? I used to have a 2010 Audi TTS and loved the turbo rush, but it had horrible lag and was a real dog especially in traffic, until you got it above 3K RPM where the turbo cut in. Hopefully Audi has smoothed this out. However, the main reason I got rid of the TTS was that I got bored with the DSG. Auto shifts were fast and smooth alright, but boring and not engaging at all. If the TTS was available in the USA with manual transmission, I'd probably still have it.
Hi - good balanced review. I have a new mark 3 TTS and can pretty much agree with all your points. The car is better to drive for me than my old TTRS but i do miss the old 5 cylinder noise. The digital dash now I'm used to it is great. I will be moving to Michelin Supersport tyres when these Hankooks wear down - and I dont think that will take too long!!
Ahhh Guido, your preferences for manual transmissions is heartwarming. Too bad Audi north America has decided manuals are evil and to be killed mercilessly along side wagons and hatches.
Any manual Audi wagon would be awesome but the NA governments kill the selection of imports because they insist making it incredibly expensive to even offer a different transmission. Accountants and bureaucrats love killing anything remotely fun.
Very sad that Audi doesn't bring manuals to Canada. I can see that maybe it is making less sense for the more family or professional oriented car (A4, A6, A8, etc.) but a sporty car like the TT or the S3/S4, should be available in a manual.
Great review as always! I really appreciate your honesty and your opinions towards this car, I agree that the noise on this car is quite disappointing. I am looking forward to the TTRS for this new generation, I guess it will still be a 5 cylinder motor (which is PHENOMENAL!) I like the way how Audi preserve their rally heritage by keeping quattro on their performance models and that 5 pot motor is just ... Irreplaceable! Once again thanks for the great review!
MaTriX_max Thanks ! I'm sure you can work on the TTS sound, but especially the induction noise from the sound generator wasn't as nice as in f.e. the Seat Leon Cupra 280. Still a very enjoyable car, I think the RS will be amazing for sure :)
i cant wait to see the new tt rs whether manual or dct plus. ive been waiting. hoping for a geneva reveal =D awesome review btw ive watched this about 4 times.
Haven't bothered to do the research but is it that the TT is higher roofline to tyre, than say the Cayman? And what does that do for comparative stability on cornering? I guess you are speaking your heart with respect to the new digital display but I suppose once you settle in and use the dials, switches and buttons you would get used to it. Where I live might be the main concern....the cost of repair if these increasing electronic additions break down or what it does to your driving experience. I love manual but heavy traffic conditions would influence me to the automatic.
Love how you brought up the seating position (which i think most of us Americans attach very little importance to ... if any) i never thought about it but now i realize it can be quite critical on the roads, you got to love Germany! :i Thanks for posting, man ;0
Vanilla Coca Cola Thanks ! Yes, I consider it very important. Think of avoiding an accident and having to turn the wheel as fast as you can and being in best control of the car as possible. That's not possible when you're in a relaxed seating position :)
TheGetawayer i see too many darn ppl with only one hand on the steering & not sitting straight, or they're on their stoopid smartphones texting [regardless of the law....] D:
Thanks for a good review. Best I have found. I'm considering replacing my 2010 Cayman S with the TTS. I've had a Mk1 TT for 15 years. Lots of nice road trips and lots of track time in that old car. Somehow, despite the Porsche charisma, I have never bonded with the Cayman S in the way that I did with the old TT. We shall see with the new TTS when they become readily available here in the US.
***** Thanks ! The steering was excellent. Best Audi steering I've driven since the R8. They worked on that. It only felt light to me coming from Porsche cars who have heavier steering. Most people I know talk very high of the TTS steering :)
I was wondering how you'd compare this mk3 tts to the mk2 ttrs you reviewed before? The tts is nearing the older rs in power but is the older car better, or worse? What about comfort and handling? Cheers
David Haworth The chassis of the new TTS is more capable with a rear-axle that has better turn-in and mobility less understeer if any, but as far as power goes its 4 banger doesn't stand a chance against the old TT RS with the 2.5, which also sounds waaaay better. Comfort of the new TTS is excellent, you can have a very light steering and soft suspension, great on longer trips. Clutch the gearbox aren't heavy at all and easy to use, so they work great aswell...So yeah, I can't wait for the new TT RS, with more power in this chassis, it could be one of my favourites. As a daily I would already pick this over a Cayman S, which says alot :)
TheGetawayer well, I can't afford a new TTS so am more interested in the older TTRS which gets quite different reviews, though I know you like it a lot. It would be a daily driver and I quite like the idea of a dependable 4wd system and a hotrod engine. It's not like I drift round corners on my morning commute :)
David Haworth I really loved it and it had great fuel range too given that its so sporty. Not a bad car to own second hand, eventhough they are still pretty pricey at least here in germany
Nice review, I have an Audi TT 8S TFSI 230 S-tronic Quattro and I know it's a very good car. I will remap it's ECU as soons as possible to have similar performances than this TTS 8S.
Klasse Video Guido!
I'm with you on the digital clusters. I much prefer "oldschool" analog instruments. I don't mind having a digital screen as well but stuff like the RPM is just way nicer with a classic needle. But customers want fancy stuff in these iPhone-days we live in. And I think that simply adding a display and doing the rest in software is cheaper for the manufacturers as well. Good to see you also brought up the Cayman. Seems like the Cayman is getting attacked left and right these days with modern Turbo engines with high HP numbers. Still, I'm really looking forward to getting my '16 GTS, especially since it does not yet have a Turbo ;)
greeting from Greece. nice video, i agree 100% regarding the manual gear box. i have a first generation TT which i just love and improved allot, but i like this new one allot! anyway, good work mate, thank you!
+blackops070771 Thank you ! I like all TTs and the first generation still has the best looking interior for my taste. Maybe you can go for a test drive in this new car. If you do, tell me how you liked it, okay ? Greetings, Guido
First time seeing a review from you. Very enjoyable and informative - subscribing and looking forward to future reviews. Keep up the good work - Happy Chinese New Year 2016 (4713).
Vega Rapidus It's funny you say that - we are all so different! The Virtual Cockpit was one of the defining reasons for me buying the car over others that still have the boring dials. I also think it looks much classier in the TTS than on some other cars I have seen with digital dials that look like they were done on photoshop. Put down the fax machine, Vega, and live with the times ;)
Another excellent review and one that provides vindication for me buying one of the last MK II TTS's I could get my hands on. Yeah sure the driving dynamics and power would be marginally better with the MK III but sitting down in front of a techie display every day instead of that beautiful analog cluster in the MK II was a deal breaker for me.
David S Thanks David ! I wouldn't say its a dealbreaker, especially given that it also has its pros with the google map and other functions. I think I just wish the design of the rev-counter and speedo was abit less videogame like to me ;)
Rick Nickles I need to find the right contact at Ford Germany. So far my emails haven't been answered, but I'll try again next week. My buddy Automann-TV has some nice videos of the Stang if you want to see it on german roads :)
TheGetawayer I see that he got the big V8 GT. To me the most interesting version is the base V6 with 200 less pounds, better weight distribution, and friendlier to the wallet.
Rick Nickles Yeah, we only have the V8 and 2.3 EcoBoost here in Europe. I still have the footage of my EcoBoost Mustang drive on the computer and will upload it soon! TheGetawayer and I are desperate about getting Ford Mustangs for a more intensive tests this year....that's for sure;)
George Paraskevopoulos I thought the same thing. Was a strong Cayman fan. Before I went for a testdrive with the Audi and a Porsche Boxster with the same engine as in the Cayman. For me the Audi felt 10x better ;o but still have to drive a Cayman though
TheGetawayer hey man quick question. I really really really love the body kit shown in the concept of the 600hp tt. Do you think that bodykit will be available for the tts 2016?
Hi!
Hi Guido, great review :) I had a TTS Roadster a few weeks ago and drove almost 1000 km in it, the Audi Virtual Cockpit is such an amazing device after you got used to it. Like you said, with the real time Google Maps its really easy to navigate to a certain place, which is often the problem with normal nav systems, they show you 98% of the way and the last 2% are up to you and are often a pain in the butt. BUT this is a sportscar and it has to deliver in other areas too. The sound is ridiculus, whats the benefit of different sound settings when they only range from "no sound at all" to "quiet"?! Also with the S-Tronic the car is an absolute no-brainer, which is a great engineering exercise considering the speed even average drivers can achieve, but ultimately it´s not what I´m looking for in a sportscar! Still, really fast, very modern in every way and very popular amogst the people Audi wants to address, so I can´t blame it for what it is :) Cheers André
AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS TV Great to get your feedback and read your own impressions Andre, thanks ! I'm hungry for the 2.5 TFSI in this car. It sounds so good in the new RS3 :D
TheGetawayer the step from S3 to RS3 is enormous, the 2.5 TFSI makes such a difference compared to the 2.0 4-cylinder...the S3 feels like a pumped up A3, the RS3 feels more like it came straight from the 1980s - if you know what I mean :) if Audi is able to capture some of the mentalness of the TT Clubsport Turbo concept we saw at Wörthersee, then I´m in no doubt that you are gonna enjoy the new TT RS very much ;)
giannos askim Thanks ! Early 2016 is what I read somewhere, but don't quote me on that. I think we might see it on the IAA in Frankfurt and then it shouldn't take more than a few months for it to arrive, I hope
If you were in the US (we're likely stuck with just the automatic version), would you still get a TTS? Or would you go for the basic Porsche Cayman manual instead? Actually, since you're familiar with both cars, what would the pros and cons be between the two?
Diesel Review I think it depends on the way you want to use the car and where. With awd and the Stronic, the TTS might be a better daily driver. The suspension is also more comfortable, the interior much more modern obviously. As a weekend car I'd prefer the Cayman, eventhough the base one is nowhere near as fast as this TTS. On a spirited drive or on a track day the Cayman would be more fun though being mid-engined and rwd. I hope that's a good answer for your question ?
TheGetawayer Thanks for the info. This would be a second car just for fun on mountain roads. I think I'll wait for the TT to get here before I decide. I'd really like to get a manual TTS, but I don't think that will come to the US.
I drove the standard (200hp) version of the predecessor. While it was a nice car, and a little faster in a straight as well as in some corners, in the end I got back in my Corrado (VR6 190hp) and thought "yeah, that's why I drive this car :)". The last generation TT already lacked character. It wasn't set up much more sporty than a Golf. When I drive my Corrado, it's firm, but not back breaking, but very sharp, exciting and confidence inspiring. The TT lacks that. Engines are a clear topic: although the 2l TFSI isn't a bad engine by any standards, and really doesn't/didn't sound bad for a 4cyl, it a) has nothing on a VR6 regarding sound b) lags considerably c) has a disappointing drop off at the top of the rev range. Steering is MUCH better in the Corrado. The TT's steering SUCKED. Shifters are somewhat even.. the Corrado's feels nicer, the Audi is more sorted and faster. One other thing.. the TT didn't have any traction in 1st gear at all.. spins its wheels at half to 2/3 power.. my Corrado never ever spins its wheels in any gear. Of course traction is a different topic with 4wd, but the one 4motion car I have driven so far (a Yeti 2.0 TDI 4x4) I didn't like at all, because when you dump the clutch in 1st, a huge jerk goes through the car, and it feels like you either smoked the clutch or ripped the chassis apart :) Maybe I'll go for a Cayman S someday.. but I haven't driven it yet, and I suspect even a modern Porsche might disappoint me. I really can't imagine how I could enjoy driving if for example the steering wasnt just right. But maybe I will simply become old and buy one because it's safer, quieter, and more economical ;) Or I will just "complete" my Corrado. So far I have completely renewed almost every technical aspect of the car. So underneath the chassis, it's basically as new (which makes all the difference). Then there's weight distribution mods like a carbon hood and battery transfer to the back, Eibach ARBs, OZ Ultraleggeras (lightest wheels in that dimension), Tarox brakes. I have a new Bilstein B12 set with Eibach springs lying around waiting to be installed. On the wishlist are Tarox 6 or 10 pot brakes, semi slicks, and maybe and LSD and front and rear crossbars. Also the engine can be brought to almost 250hp at ~7000rpm via CNC work on the head and intake manifold & cams - that, I would very much like to do :)
Helo I need your kind help in Drive comfort between the TT & TTS because there much difference in the price where I want the better power in the TTS so I wanted to know if the TTS is a lot firmer compared to the TT I drive a lot in cities and highways so if you can just specify if there its not that much a difference in comfort between them because if it is not I will go for the TTS thanks in advance
I like yourself noticed what I would describe as elements of cost cutting...the accelerator pedal, manually operated petrol filler cap and the Hankook tyres to name some of the main points. I too do not like the SoundAktor within the cabin and also find the ride a little too refined and distant for my taste. A nice car to drive but not great in my opinion. Visually the car is excellent along with some cutting edge automotive technology.
Jason.m Walsh Thanks for the feedback Jason ! You know, I still like this car alot. I love the exterior. Give it the big engine and I think it's once again a perfect sportscar :)
Guerra1301 Thanks ! More likely the C63, but maybe I can do the C450 too. Did you get the chance to watch myC250 review ? I really like the new C-Class. Great car :)
2020 TT RS review is here: th-cam.com/video/tQo-nFgcZJQ/w-d-xo.html
Finally. A car reviewer who isn't obsessed by how a car performs on track and concentrates on real world driving. Refreshing. Top work!
+Andrew Tilston Thanks Andrew !

@@TheGetawayer i got my TTS because of this video..great car indeed..Thanks

+asw motorfactors Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review !

Love the brief over the shoulder shot. that was fresh!
Mithotyn444 Glad you like it :)
There's no replacing the sound of that straight 5, though. Looking forward to this generation's RS model review. Good review as always.
Sean Henry Thank you ! Yes, the straight 5 is lovely. Just won engine of the year again :)
Got to have the dsg with the TTS
Alexg DSG is for girls, real drivers prefer manual.
@@richarddavies5711 that’s what paddle shift is for. I leave my box in manual all of the time unless I’m in traffic.
I love the Audi TT design and I've been a big fan. My only gripe would be the digital gauge - I prefer analog hands down. If I want GPS, ill use my smart phone. If they have optional gauge to analog, i would totally purchase one.
I agree. The analogs looks better than the digital ones.
Great Review,Getawayer.......What about the noise cancelling inside the cabin. Do you think that you could have a smooth and relaxing journey in terms of longer distances? for example, from the south of Germany to the south of france..
Looks just as good as the mk2 TTs with some extra poke. 😊🏁🍻🏁
Great review. Looking forward to mine arriving! Loved my test drive!
Great review. You mentioned a comparison to a Carrera; is the TTS a "budget" alternative? Thanks!
Great work as usual. Would love to see a review from you of the AMG GTs
so.... which is best .... MK3 TTS or MK2 TTRS .... if buying preowned in 2022?
The Getawayer, I have a question for you. I currently own a Focus ST and I've owned many manual transmission cars, and I'm thinking of getting a MK7 Golf R. My question to you is, should I go with the manual over the DSG? I love to "row my own" and I'm a little leary of going DSG because I'm afraid it wouldn't be engaging enough as a driving enthusiast, what one would you purchase? Thanks in advance!
Watch my Golf R review is all I can say Jeff ;)
Your reviews are excellent.
Very nice video, nice view,
Amazing car.
My dream car TTS
I appreciate your positive feedback, thank you!
Great video. Just a question, what did you think about the quality of the manual shift??
Great review, as usual.
Nice review as always. I love that car in yellow.
Chris Baskett Thanks !
Check out my vids of it in yellow :)
I cant wait for you to make BMW M2 review. Im torn between TTS and M2. Great review
+Blackland Thanks !
Love how you brought up the seating position (which i think most of us Americans attach very little importance to ... if any)
i never thought about it but now i realize it can be quite critical on the roads, you got to love Germany! :i
Thanks for posting, man ;0
Vanilla Coca Cola Thanks ! Yes, I consider it very important. Think of avoiding an accident and having to turn the wheel as fast as you can and being in best control of the car as possible. That's not possible when you're in a relaxed seating position :)
TheGetawayer i see too many darn ppl with only one hand on the steering & not sitting straight, or they're on their stoopid smartphones texting [regardless of the law....]
D:
Great review, I love the TT had the MK2 but now I have kids so not really practical.
+John Patterson Glad you liked the review ! I'm waiting for the new TT RS now, that engine is truely special. Merry Christmas !
How was the steering. Could you tell what was happening under the front wheels? Really like this car. Nice review as always.
Dieses Auto ist wirklich mein Traumauto
Nice review, I have an Audi TT 8S TFSI 230 S-tronic Quattro and I know it's a very good car. I will remap it's ECU as soons as possible to have similar performances than this TTS 8S.
wil1080 That sounds interesting ! Tell me about the upgrade and feel when you've done the remap !
Great review man, what do you think of the Audi TT as a daily car?? Thanks and keep up the good work!!
+007mmaelite Pretty much a perfect daily driver sportscar. Many people here in germany use it as their only car :)
Thats my next car. Great review now I have a bit more knowledge about the TTS
Good review and I love the colour. A manual is the way to go for people who love to drive. Very expensive here in Australia.
Klasse Bericht!
TTS- Freunde Dankeschön !
Klasse Video Guido!
I like ur videos subbed
Hi' nice video,I drive an 2014 S3 and ordered the TT-so how would you compere the TTs to an S3 ? driving wise
Greetings, Guido
ok bro.and thanks for your reply!
I love the new TT, but when are we going to get a diesel s-tronic quattro version ?? !!
First time seeing a review from you. Very enjoyable and informative - subscribing and looking forward to future reviews. Keep up the good work - Happy Chinese New Year 2016 (4713).
I m with you... I hate digital things and this new cockpit us just stupid to me. I don t understand why the changed it. Nice review btw !
I think I just wish the design of the rev-counter and speedo was abit less videogame like to me ;)
Very nice review, yeah. The car's not bad either, yeah. Yeah... :)
+Adrian Andon Thanks Adrian !
Glad that you brought this car to attention. I had forgotten about it too. Hopefully new mustang is next on the list...
Rick Nickles
Oh, we only get the V8 and Ecoboost here in europe, I think
Rick Nickles Yeah, we only have the V8 and 2.3 EcoBoost here in Europe. I still have the footage of my EcoBoost Mustang drive on the computer and will upload it soon! TheGetawayer and I are desperate about getting Ford Mustangs for a more intensive tests this year....that's for sure;)
My dream car
I prefer porsche cayman but i will admit that the audi is a magnificent car.
George Paraskevopoulos depends on your budget
George Paraskevopoulos I thought the same thing. Was a strong Cayman fan. Before I went for a testdrive with the Audi and a Porsche Boxster with the same engine as in the Cayman. For me the Audi felt 10x better ;o but still have to drive a Cayman though
***** what if you need an AWD though?
Dgpcars1608 Danke :)
Great video, awesome review!
+Raphael 27 Thank you !
TheGetawayer hey man quick question. I really really really love the body kit shown in the concept of the 600hp tt. Do you think that bodykit will be available for the tts 2016?
martin117ish I honestly don't know, but I hope some of it will make it into production :)
Very good review. For me also the digital cockpit not very engaging. The TT is the perfect kleine Gran Turismo.
Hi!
Good review, how are the seats in the back? To which extend can those be used? Thanks.
+Raf Griep Thanks ! Sorry, I didn't try those being 1,94m / 6ft4 tall :) I guess children would be fine, but not adults
TheGetawayer the step from S3 to RS3 is enormous, the 2.5 TFSI makes such a difference compared to the 2.0
4-cylinder...the S3 feels like a pumped up A3, the RS3 feels more like it came straight from the 1980s - if you know what I mean :) if Audi is able to capture some of the mentalness of the TT Clubsport Turbo concept we saw at Wörthersee, then I´m in no doubt that you are gonna enjoy the new TT RS very much ;)
Good job! Any idea when the RS is arriving? What taking so long?? Like a rock concert "we want more..we want more"
giannos askim Thanks ! Early 2016 is what I read somewhere, but don't quote me on that. I think we might see it on the IAA in Frankfurt and then it shouldn't take more than a few months for it to arrive, I hope
I hop so... and also for the 420!
this or the old/current ttrs?
What would you choose as a daily? the ttrs 8j with 340-360hp or the newer tts with 310hp?
RS but only if it was a manual
Thank you very much for this video
On Wheels You're welcome !
Great review. When will you get round to reviewing the CLA 45 AMG?
He has reviewed the cla
Max Power Thanks ! I already did review the CLA 45 last year. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/5fl6paXQU4k/w-d-xo.html
Sorry Guido! Thank you.
Choosing between the 2013 TT RS or this TTS, what would you choose?
+Keith Janssen I would wait for the new TT RS and see if it comes with a manual ;)
Cool car. Enjoy your channel.
My Garage Tv Thank you !
TheGetawayer
Thanks for the info. This would be a second car just for fun on mountain roads. I think I'll wait for the TT to get here before I decide. I'd really like to get a manual TTS, but I don't think that will come to the US.
Which would you pick from the TTs, golf r, or audi rs3 ?
Bmw m235i
+shaan ali Mercedes CLA 45 AMG
Comfort; Golf R. Sheer speed; RS3. Best to drive; TTs
Josh Thorpe
Mercedes; all together
Of course traction is a different topic with 4wd, but the one 4motion car I have driven so far (a Yeti 2.0 TDI 4x4) I didn't like at all, because when you dump the clutch in 1st, a huge jerk goes through the car, and it feels like you either smoked the clutch or ripped the chassis apart :)
Maybe I'll go for a Cayman S someday.. but I haven't driven it yet, and I suspect even a modern Porsche might disappoint me.
So how firm is the suspension on 19's with such a short wheelbase while in comfort mode? Teeth rattling?
ja fa Not at all, this car is very comfy, you'd be surprised !
Thanks for the reply. Do you feel it is more firm than an S3 on 19's with Mag shocks on Comfort? I have driven two of those.
Am I correct that the TT is basically a sporty VW GTI or R?
Steve W You could say so yes, but that is a great platform I think :)
Helo
I need your kind help in Drive comfort between the TT & TTS because there much difference in the price where I want the better power in the TTS so I wanted to know if the TTS is a lot firmer compared to the TT
I drive a lot in cities and highways so if you can just specify if there its not that much a difference in comfort between them because if it is not I will go for the TTS
thanks in advance
+MA10Station I haven't driven the normal TT only this TTS, but I don't think the ride was uncomfortable. A very nice daily driver imo
how tall are you?
From a scale 1 to 10 how loud is the exhaust comparing it to a average american car .
+Jasiel Ortiz Sorry, I hardly ever see american cars here in germany. Nobody drives them here
Should i get this or the Cayman
+swagcity Drive both and decide :) I have reviews of the Cayman S and Cayman GT4 here too ;)
+swagcity For some reason I really don't like how Porsche cars look. I can't really explain why but that's my two cents!
TheGetawayer beautiful car, nice review.
you will make review for Mercedes C450 AMG 4matic?
Guerra1301 Thanks ! More likely the C63, but maybe I can do the C450 too. Did you get the chance to watch myC250 review ? I really like the new C-Class. Great car :)
Yes liked the C250, I will wait for the review of the C63.
There is an audio input sound for exhaust lol
The only thing I dislike about the car is the bulge above the wheels. If only they made it flat/smooth like the a4 for example
It's beautiful :')
