I am a Catholic and I seldom to go to attend mass because the church is far from us and that I dont understand well their dialect here. I just listen to the TH-cam and I found these beautiful songs which I have missed for almost two years. I usually go to Mass every week or almost every day when I was living in the city. Now I am in a remote place to take care for.my husband who is paralized. Thank you for these songs I feel the presence of God with tears of joy. I miss to go to mass as I usually did. My only routine now is to read the Bible and listen to the preaching in TH-cam. Please pray.for my husband and me. Thank you and more power to your Choir. The first thing that popped right in my heart/mind when reading your comment was to tell you to receive Spiritual Communion now that you're unable to frequent Holy Communion. Thank God. If my understanding is correct, Spiritual Communion is really meant for people who end up unable to attend Mass physically for genuine reasons. However, it sounds like there might be a possibility of attending Mass even though you don't understand their dialect. Could there maybe be other churches near though their dialect is not understood by you? I'm not sure if that is excusable for not receiving sacramental Communion or attending Mass, if so. Contact a Priest via phone/email perhaps at your city parish and clarify this. Because I don't understand Italian but if I visited Italy, for example, I would still be required to attend Mass and receive the sacraments in an expression or speaking the language of faith, keeping in mind that the Catholic Mass is the same universally at the core. Some nuances might make it "feel" different like longer than an hour for instance, but the Rites do not change. So, as long as a validly ordained priest consecrates the host, anyone who is Catholic in a state of grace should not keep away from receiving The Eucharist because of a language or time barrier. No other barrier except sin, grave illness, being physically limited enough in some way or physical distance (I don't know how far should be far enough though) should prevent us from consuming The Body and Blood of Christ Who gives Himself to us in the Holy Eucharist. You might not have understood the homily but Our Lord is the same, unless you fear that the priest was not pronouncing the correct words because you cannot understand the language. Then maybe ask someone for translation? Record the priest at consecration time on your phone and play it at home to see if your husband can verify that those are the familiar words?? So please check with a priest. Do your best dear and ask Christ Himself to help you figure this out. Let's keep praying for one another. Please also pray for us and the Souls in Purgatory while you suffer this separation. God love you and your husband in the Most Holy Name of Jesus we pray. Amen Keep us posted about what you learn from a priest please if you wouldn't mind.
