I practically live at Walt Disney world and they’re pretty accommodating. Just because something isn’t labeled as vegan doesn’t mean it can’t be made vegan. Always ask to see the allergy menu as there may be options listed there that aren’t on a regular menu (like vegan cheese for pizzas). Most places will have a vegan ice cream option too. At any table service you can let them know ahead of time and a chef will be willing to come and talk to you to see what you can have or what they can make you. 😊 we have actually recently gotten more vegan burger options on our end over here but you still have to ask for ingredient list for the bun bc it often contains honey. 👎🏻
Erika thanks so much that was super helpful! When you say disney world you're talking about florida not disney land in LA right? Also when you said to let restaurants know ahead of time do you mean we should call in before our visit and if so how far in advance?
Stephanie Nguyen disney world as in Florida. When it comes to quick service you can easily ask for an allergy menu at the register and they have it readily available. For table service we’ve done it both ways. We’ve called ahead so that it’s already stated on our reservation and they’ll have a slip that says allergy on it so the server already knows when they get to your table OR you can let them know when you go in. My first trip as a vegan to wdw before I moved here I emailed special diets and they gave me a whole list of what I could and couldn’t have at the desert party years ago. When we got there the message wasn’t relayed well BUT one of the cast members went out of their way to specially grab me own plate of allergy friendly treats! I think it even gives the option now when you make a reservation to state what allergies you have. It doesn’t state a vegan option (yet!) but as I said the chefs are usually more than happy to accommodate you. There’s also many vegan Disney instagrams and blogs that are extremely helpful for planning ahead! I highly suggest checking those out 😊
Erika, thank you for sharing this! I see you mention the allergy menu. Did you happen to notice if they are still accommodating for other allergies? I am allergic to gluten and soy... I want to go to Disney but I do not want to starve haha. If you did not notice no worries!
you could make a video showing what you usually have in your pantry and refrigerator, I really liked to see because I love your recipes and so I had an idea of the basics you always have at hand.
Mona, just so you know you can get vegan cheese pizza at the pizza port or alien pizza planet I think they call it now. Its in tomorrow land! They also serve vegan pulled pork sandwiches at that watering next to soarin! You can go anywhere in DL and ask for vegan option and they will try their best to help!
Did yuh get the veggie gumbo at that terrace restaurant next to the pirates of the Caribbean ride? Omg! Its soooo good! The adorable snow man lemon icecream is so dang good! Thats at California adventure!
I just sought out this video because I recently became an Emily fan and she said she did a video with you. I was like WHAAAATTT??? She is from my hometown of Clovis California! I'm going to have to watch her video too!
Yep. Theres actually a lot of off menu vegan options. No clue why they dont just include them on the menu, but multiple places through the park have vegan burgers and such that you can ask for. It's very annoying. Theres an IG account, Veganatdisneyland that has tons of options listed.
I find if foods are advertised as vegan they're more expensive :/ but it would be nice to know up front what is and isn't vegan at places. I hope u enjoyed your time in LA!!
Lucky you can eat Soy. I would have to ask if all that food you ate was soy free for me to eat it. I end up eating more on the Raw Vegan side when eating out, because its the safest for me, tho not filling enough, cuz I lose my appetite well before able or wanting to eat a large enough amount to fill me up! Sigh. :/ I also cannot do gluten, dairy, nuts, beans/legumes. So as a result, I do eat eggs and seafood, too.
omggg so weird seeing my dumb face in someone else's youtube video!!! haahahaa

They have a vegan burger on the menu at the carnation cafe on Main Street.
Alice Espinoza we tried going to that cafe but we would have had to make reservations.. apparently they have vegan waffles + pancakes
I'm sorry I know this video is old but where did you get your shoes?!?
Can you also do a vegan at the County Fair as well? I hear that’s where most vegan options are very rare.
