I did many mistakes in that second Q sir First I solved it without doing integration After realising it is wrong Next I wrote temperature diff as 140-x instead of x-10 in hurrey and all the wrong ans I got were in the options Tq for the video sir you opened my eyes to not be over confident
Completed : ✅✅✅ Revision Problem 1) I made a mistake when trying to solve temperature at intersection conceptually. (Not mathematically) So try finding temperature at intersection. P is at 10 centigrade and S is at 400 Centigrade. Conductivity of PQ is two times that of RS. Length and area of both are same. Find temperature at intersection R. Use diagram at 10:19 . (No need to solve anything else) The answer for that temperature is at 11:11 . (Solve conceptually, not mathematically) ✅4) 21:18 . I did it, but thermodynamics is your weak area. So no harm in doing it once again. It's a decent question as well. Status : Day 10

In question no 2 when you deal with final situation(at steady state) why do you take take length of wire 1m ? Temp is increased length of wire will also increase !?
Good point but if you see carefully the change in length is less then 1 mm. In comparison to 1m its very very small. So won't affect much during finding Junction temp.
It is beautiful problem based It can be solved by two methods One is usual method But interesting thing yu found while solving is that when you neglected high order terms yu get work done zero so we have to include one more term and that is work done by external agent M-2 it is not usual method but it is done by graph some logic apply here also when we draw adibatic graph and found area of trapezium we got same result but here also neglection theory is not hold as we tend to ignore work done by triangle and only consider rectangle but here also yu come up with work done zero so we have to only consider work done by triangle as work done by external is so small . It is unique problem don't find it anywhere in usual standard stuffs

Sir, in the 4th qs, they have asked for heat supplied to the system, so why are we including the dQ of the second step as heat is rejected in that step
Awesome video sir… when I tried question 2 myself i did not realise that integration was to be done, as usually it is to be done for non uniform systems and it was not specified anywhere in the question.. I simply used the formula of linear thermal expansion at the end and got stuck because I realised that delta L was not given anywhere in the question. these questions of 2016 advanced really make us think a lot.

In first question why the temperature difference is not taken in kelvin as specific heat is given in Kelvin . Please tell that .
