The Sky King is my dream amp, truly, perfect clean amp, in itself is super versatile with pentode/ultralinear, as well as the drive channel I really like, it takes any pedals well if you set it up right imo, the DRV is also great, but really for certain things, distortion with clarity is it's go too, nice mid range, thanks man!
@@HarryAndAGuitar yep…I have a Blue Sky King and it’s a pedal beast. Even without pedals the breakup is nice. I actually was going to grab a RAT. But didn’t know if I kind OG or Turbo. So on my big board of Botique pedals, I have a Mooer Black Secret lol. I mean it sounds the same..but probably getting something more gig worthy later. I know the DRV seems to be great for low to mid tones. May have to grab one at some point!
You’ll love the DRV man, I have the gorilla warfare MKII as well and had the jam pedals rattler, they can all get close to each other, the midrange is different on them all more than anything, DRV sounds best for nice midrange and has more range of useable gain as a result, gorilla sounds best higher gain as it’s a tiny bit less mid rangey. God I love the Sky King, I’ve had pretty much every clean amp you can imagine apart from Two Rocks and the Sky king is my favourite!
@@HarryAndAGuitar wow passing up a Two Rock! I looked at them as well lol. I do have a question seeing as you use the Sky King. Which flavor Big Muff works good with the amp? I’m looking at Tone Wicker, Maybe a Hoof V2. I use Humbuckers as well so it’s tough! But yeah I’m using the Mooer Black Secret for now. Depending what I like Turbo or OG and if I like it overall. I’ll probably jump up to maybe the Black Mass, Gorilla or Rattler. I do like what I’ve heard from the Rattler. Most I’ve heard of the Gorilla has actually be your channel. Seems to pair well with a lot of stuff and modern rock sounds with the amp.
I definitely want a two rock next, I just meant I’ve not owned one yet! Hmm, I usually always run my Fuzz’s into a light overdrive like my Lightspeed, takes away some of the harshness rather than running into a clean amp. My favourite muff is either the Thorpy fallout, or an era specific Wren and Cuff. I’ve heard the hoof is amazing though! The rattler is great, I’d go for the DRV though, it’s just far more versatile :)

I use two tube screamers to simulate their guitar tone one in half gain been boosted by another with gain knob in 2H o clock
