Mueller Hut

Weekend trip to Mt Cook/Aoraki National Park to Mueller Hut via the Sealy Tarns in November 2023 with our three boys and two girlfriends. I booked for our group of 7 when South Island bookings opened for the season. For large books, especially a Saturday night, you need to book early. There will be cancellations for smaller groups throughout the season but not for 7 on a Saturday night.
We were fortunate enough to strike a stunning weekend - bluebird skies and enough snow to be fun.
The steps up to Sealy Tarns are brutal but the views are rewarding. The steep up continues to the ridgeline, before winding through rocks with Mt Sefton dominating the views tot he right. The return trip saw us enjoying the quick way down by sliding down the snowy faces before lunch at Sealy Tarns and the last leg down the steps.
