I remember when you first moved in. I was still missing the Groton place but I had confidence that you not only had a vision but could actually make it happen. Team work, on some level, makes things work. Your talents are so obvious that no one could ever question you are a ‘DOER’! Your husband must have recognized these things in you when he first met you. Finding the right contractors must be a real challenge when new to an area. Word of mouth must play some part. I LOVE how it has all turned out so far. I can FEEL the peace in the rooms as they approach completion of your vision. It is a journey that reflects my own mindset and I’m so happy to be included in your journey. BTW, I knew you would address the fireplace mounding thing when you were ready-not necessary to say so 😊😉
Windows, fireplace, hardwood floors, Butler's pantry are all perfectly blended giving a timeless rustic meets medieval moment in time. I'll take quartz over granite any day! Queen Elizabeth I was a great pick. Not to mention, I love the snow. Simply wonderful!

Oh Linda everything is so charming and well thought out! The color pallet is soft, inviting and yet has a personality. I believe taking a break in the finishing touches is a good thing. It gives your creativeness a chance to look at what you have done and reimagine what is next. Not a bad thing to take time and regroup. The kitchen and butlers pantry look fantastic. Love the fireplace and room. I agree some comfy chairs by the fireplace would be great. What if you switched the dinner room table with the kitchen table as it looks smaller and may fit better. Then moving the chandelier closer to the kitchen to give you room for chairs. I know you mentioned that as an option. Just a thought. Anxious to see the laundry/wine/ bar room. Love the wallpaper in there as I have horses and love equestrian theme.

My favorite is the Butler's Pantry because it is so useful and sweet! Everything is just sweet! I love the windows, wide floor boards, the window seats, and you just have a place to entertain, enjoy the outside, enjoy the people in the kitchen, and the pantry is so sweet because so many things can happen in there and the mess is out of sight of people eating, or washing up dishes. My kitchen is about the same size as your kitchen. I don't have a Butler's Pantry. I do have a large closet, and I believe it needs an outlet now so I can put my mixer in it, and maybe my blenders. Thanks for telling me about the knife magnet. I am going to order one this morning! My favorite color is blue, so I am enjoying your work more for the ideas and heritage of Early American than for colors you enjoy.

It seems like you could swap your kitchen table with your dining room table to be able to keep the kitchen table in center and have better sight lines to fireplace from sink and allow room for chairs. Linda, I am so impressed with this kitchen and pantry remodel. It is absolutely beautiful and you must feel such peace and calm when you sit with your morning coffee and look out on your beautiful surroundings. I too am up around 4:30 or 5 o’clock in the morning and find that I am most productive then! Willow must love sitting near the warm fire and looking out at all that nature has to offer. Linda, I've been thinking about this - and if I am perfectly honest - if I had it to do over I would get comfortable lower chairs - on at least two castors and I would have made my table a little lower. especially having a dining room separately - it could be a good option. but my circle table extends to an oval and was beautifully handmade by an uncle with some wood from the family farm. I am keeping it. :-) I have considered ways to find chairs like that but the right height, perhaps on casters.

I admire your method of planning, executing and dressing the finished rooms. It takes a lot of talent and patience to accomplish all you have done so far. I'm trying to be patient to see the final touches you put into these rooms and then follow you through to the tavern.
I have the same color cabinets and quartz countertops that we recently had installed. Love it! Went with a stone backsplash though as I love the earthy, warm look it gave my Southern kitchen. Love your taste!

Just a word to the wise😊. My bichon loves our window seat and also claimed it as her own. I had a good quality cushion made that was stain resistant etc. to fit it. When there was a spot, I just washed it. I didn't account for her scratching at it to settle in. After a while it was stained and had wear and fabric threads. After another couple of hundred dollars it is replaced, but there is a nice soft blanket I keep on it for my spoiled dog to sleep on and protect the cushion. It's easy to take the blanket off when I want it nice for company😁.

Talk about bad timing! Now, 2 years later, I have some issues that are being addressed by the company but I will NEVER do it again. You are a trooper for all that you have done, thanks for sharing.

We have measured the table to fit in the dining room and it’s really tight, but we might try it now that we’re not holiday hosting for a while

I admire your method of planning, executing and dressing the finished rooms. It takes a lot of talent and patience to accomplish all you have done so far. I'm trying to be patient to see the final touches you put into these rooms and then follow you through to the tavern.

I have the same color cabinets and quartz countertops that we recently had installed. Love it! Went with a stone backsplash though as I love the earthy, warm look it gave my Southern kitchen. Love your taste!
Wow, THOSE FLOORS!! 😍 I loved the house before, but you have truly transformed it into a masterpiece! It's bright and spacious. I want the candle sconces above the fireplace. They are perfection. Love Queen Bess upon her throne. The wallpaper in the butler's pantry really makes that space feel elevated. You have talent!

Linda, love the kitchen! You did good! However, I see Bess either in the tavern or dining room. The tavern could have an Elizabethan look and Bess would fit right in. It would work in the dining room as well. Something New England over the fireplace. With inflation my 2 cents is worth nothing but there you go.😅
A G&T was never more deserved Linda. Cheers! The rocker would be lovely in an upstairs bedroom with a long view. What luck the counter stools. I love it all!
Just a word to the wise😊. My bichon loves our window seat and also claimed it as her own. I had a good quality cushion made that was stain resistant etc. to fit it. When there was a spot, I just washed it. I didn't account for her scratching at it to settle in. After a while it was stained and had wear and fabric threads. After another couple of hundred dollars it is replaced, but there is a nice soft blanket I keep on it for my spoiled dog to sleep on and protect the cushion. It's easy to take the blanket off when I want it nice for company😁.

Looks great to me. I also understand the need to step back, enjoy what is done, and just breathe. In my most recent kitchen remodel, a full year passed and lapsed during the pandemic. Talk about bad timing! Now, 2 years later, I have some issues that are being addressed by the company but I will NEVER do it again. You are a trooper for all that you have done, thanks for sharing.
