Going over a “scheme” to start a small farm retail business in order to establish small buying clubs for select products. Most wholesalers require minimum volumes and some try to make you provide some proof that you’re a “legitimate” business.
I’ve shown the support for buying in bulk and manufacturer direct before, in regards to when we go on a goat feed run. This is essentially the same, only we’d be looking to sell the surplus in order for us to get what we need and essentially break even.

I guess that makes me an old man! I debated all the same you suggested. I do have a line on free logs from tree service companies. I can even use his log truck and/or skid steer to load and haul logs to my place. He just won’t deliver them for me at his expense as I’m too far away.
I don’t think it cost effective to use my shop planer to make shavings. It’s just not meant for that much constant use and abuse. But yes, and incidental shavings we get right now are bagged and kept for later use. I would love to get my hands on some super sacks! They sure are handy!
