The Great America commercial (“Hand-in-Hand”) is from 1982 when the park was Marriott’s Great America. It remained a Marriott park through the 1983 season. Six Flags purchased the park in April of 1984.

theme parks were better back then. now they're just overpriced crowded spaces with 2hr lines for rides in peak times, that drain your wallet and no matter how much you pay someone else paid more for "fast pass" and get to cut the lines and take priority over you no matter how long you've been waiting.
