Than you for taking the time to record this.. I am a beginner guitar player but I love lute music so I plan on getting a lute sooner or later.. if one can find a decently priced usable lute.
I look forward to going through these starting at episode 1!

I hope you find them helpful! It can be really difficult to find an affordable lute. The Lute Society of America has a rental program and they also sell instruments: lutesocietyofamerica.org. In the meantime, you can tune the third string on your guitar down to F# and you'll be able to play a "fake" lute. You can also add a capo to raise the pitch a bit (2nd or 3rd fret). I did this before I was able to get my first lute and it was a great start! Cheers, Laudon

@@laudonschuett3019 We have a small lute society that rents out instruments in my country as well but all the Renaissance 6/7/8c are already rented. I have received some good feedback on the Muzikkon lutes so that might be my course of action in the following weeks or months.
For now, I am doing exactly what you mentioned, third string a semitone down and a capo on my guitar learning to play the guitar with some beginner Straloch pieces.. :) And using very much lute inspired RH technique..

@@miqbri wonderful! Sounds like you are doing all the right things. If you are willing to save up a bit more, the Le Luth Dore instruments are excellent for students: leluthdore.com/lutes/instruments/

@@laudonschuett3019 I think these would a great option but unfortunately from what I have read they have been out of stock, with no indication of ever coming back, for months now..
