    The DX 5000 plus is one of my all time favourites. The NR setting is excellent and makes a huge difference. My understanding is the KPO NM532 mic is electret so I use that setting with mine. Great video by the way . I like this setting for the roger beep NASA style rbf 2550 RBT 300. I set the E-tone for both markers aligned to the 9oclock position

      What would you choose this or a Richard ? I know the Richard doesnt have ssb but i like the look of it also i like the large frequency counter on the Kpo5000 .

      @@williamn01I would choose the DX5000 over the Richard. I have previously owned both radios. The CRT 6900 V is also very good

      @@robgibbsofficial Thanks for the reply , I have a McKinley and an ft891 but I want something old school looking with a nice big frequency counter , is the CRT basically the same as the KPObi take it ? Probably prefer the blue on the CRT as I could change my McKinley to the blue screen aswell , I'm weird that way 🤣

    • @robgibbsofficial
      @robgibbsofficial หลายเดือนก่อน

      @williamn01 yes basically the same but make sure its the V version. Personally my fave radio is the CRT 8900 and the President George 2. Both excellent radios and are a joy to listen to with the Noise Cancelling technology

      @@robgibbsofficial Yea I'm going to order it from Doug at knights I'm sure he has them in and £40 or something cheaper than the KPO , I want something old school looking with a frequency counter I picked up an old cobra as I had one about 25yrs ago but had a slight problem with it so going to return it .
      I just got the the FT891 aswell , I prefer knobs and buttons instead of all the menus , it's actually quite simple tho to operate .
      You reckon the Crt 6900v then ? As I'm going to order it tonight .

      is your channel knob sloppy or does it click when you change channels? clarifier is solid, but not the channels on my crt

    • @2m0rot
      @2m0rot  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't have the radio any more but I'm sure it clicked.

    • @get__some
      @get__some 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@2m0rot crt6900v is a copy. the channel selector has no clicks, but more like slight spots between channels. not quite as smooth as a volume knob, but not far from it. thanks for your answer

    • @2m0rot
      @2m0rot  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@get__some Now that you mention it, it was rather smooth but clicked slightly like a coarse clarifier on a 3900

    • @get__some
      @get__some 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @2m0rot yessir. it's smooth enough on this radio, that it skips 2 channels at times. tried going very slow between channels, and that just confused it lol. most of the k-po videos i watch, the click is audible. can't hear a thing on this crt, but the clarifier clicks like the channel knob on a new galaxy.

    On your radio. Menu #9.
    I would recommend you switch your setting to EL (Electret)
    I think you showed in the beginning of your video you're using the K-po Nm-532 microphone.
    You will get much better audio reports having your radio set to Electret microphone type.
    Thanks for making the video.

      @@2m0rot Quick question, On my CRT 6900N (rev6) using the data cable & software I managed to make each bank 60 channels each instead of just 40. It now has 360 channels. Can the DX 500 Plus do that?

    • @2m0rot
      @2m0rot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the programming software is identical as far as I'm aware. The only difference is: There's a mini usb socket on the rear of the DX500+ so you don't need to open up the covers & void the warranty.
      Only thing is you need a new cable, but the warranty stays intact.

    Hi Stu great video thanks for running through everything about the radio looks like a great peace of kit
    Can you tell me when on band C will it do 26450 on channel 11 on AM ?
    That’s what the Truckie channel is in New Zealand we run 26mhz channel 11 I’m keen to buy one of these but it has to do that
    Cheers
    Bob

    • @2m0rot
      @2m0rot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      26.450 is reached by going to band B, channel 34 (26.445) then clicking the clarifier up to 450

    Any ideas as to what the noise gate and noise compander actually do ?

    • @2m0rot
      @2m0rot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      RX noise compander is a filter that takes more of the hash off. The Noise gate works like a Notch filter but without the increments, there's only one setting On/Off.

    the 6900v7 blue screen is horrible, but the radio did great right out of the box. took the pin 4 sleeve out of an astatic 636L microphone and the audio reports are great. changed settings to dynamic. waiting for these to become available in the states. unsure how to use the programming cable, as my windows 10 says there's port problem. may have to reset radio for programming to work, but playing it safe now, after a problem with trying to program. regularly gets across the pond with under 10w 555usb. thanks for your time and upload.

    Just an Anytone 5555 version 1 .
    Thux radio not getting 25-30 mhz on band switch in radio is a downfall has vd de modified to get 28-29.690 mhz is it's biggest disnfall . However it makes excellent CB band radio.
