Wow, wow, wow, I’ve seen quite a few Warley videos on TH-cam the past week and this one has to be by far the best. Others concentrate on layouts but yours had everything, really enjoyed seeing the manufacturers and what’s coming to sale and what’s on the modelling table for the future. Plenty of variety with this video Sam, well done on something different and showing us that have never been, what is really on offer there. 10/10 👍🏻👍🏻

Very good cover of the Warley show.
Some very to me well known faces at the OO live steam club, I have a few of those locos of my own and they did an excellent job on learning me how to operate the system as it should be run, and always help me out when spare parts are needed.
They even went as far as producing their own label spear parts, that now and then need to be replaced and that Hornby wouldn't produce any more.
If it was not up to them, the game was over for many who bought the system, great team they are.
A petty that Hornby started this project and gave up so soon on it

Fascinating to see what's happening in OO at the other side of the channel Sam. We've just had the International exhibition event in Friedrichshafen with well over 200 exhibitors from 1 - 3 Nov. It's a profound hobby beyond our starting experiences tbh, good heavens. We've yet have to visit one of those events though. Again a massive thank you for reviewing Rivarossi's 4014 UP the other day. We've left a comment if you're interested as it has helped our decision making rather directly and how to fare in the near future 🙂
I'm lucky enough to have two of the live steam locos. They are utterly gorgeous and amazing to run. They need a lot of setup and prep work and yes, they're hard to get the hang of, but when they work there's nothing like them in the hobby!

I have one of the live steam locos but have not had an opportunity to run it. As far as I know it has never been run and I expect it will need some tlc before use (I imagine the oil grease might be solid by now).

If they weren't so super expensive, I would've expected a Hornby Live Steam review from you at some point. I actually have two Live Steam Models, one set bought new, and the first thing I did was run my brand new Mallard off the track, giving it a scratch on the paint outside the cylinders. Was absolutely pissed at myself for that one, especially since the Hornby manual said to nudge it to a start if it did not move forwards after 3-5 clicks. I'd love to see them retry this idea again in the future, but also glad to see people haven't forgotten about the models either!
I'm hoping that one of the model companies makes an LBSC K Class mogul, if they're so interested in making pre-grouping models!

Sam,,,So glad you came and had a roll on our Live steam roadshow. The manual aside,, they are really fun and keep you wanting more, excellent resume of the warley show by the way, nicely condensed and not too long!! Well done to Chloe on the lenses too.
I was stood behind you just after you videoed the Port of Par Bagnalls on the saturday, but didn't say hi as someone else was talking to you.
I really enjoyed the show, although didn't see too many bargains or items I was interested in, especially 0 gauge.
When I went round to the Dapol stand later in the day, there didn't seem to be any sign of the class 323 announcement, which I'd noticed on facebook earlier in the day.
Can't wait for the TT HSTs...
Glad you had a go with the live steam, I suggested it under one of your videos a while back. It's a phenomenal piece of engineering and the club are really friendly.

Right at the end I just caught a glimpse of the guys on the N Gauge Society stand, home of an incredible exclusive N gauge shunter which pushes the limits of what can be done in the scale.
Was a good show and roll on next year.
Ahh sorry for that… so many people that we missed apparently… though it felt like we met hundreds! Ahhh excellent, not sure I spotted that shunter but it sounds good!

Suggestion: When you go to a show like this, including comic shows, bring your own water and a snack or two to get you through the day...then afterwards, go out for a decent dinner at somewhere nice. I and my wife been doing it that way for years - saves a lot of money!

Bought a knackered Hornby Standard 4MT, a lovely kit-built K3, a Hornby Cadbury Castle, a Mainline 4300 with Collett cab, and a bag of N Scale bits and bobs!

Chloe well done for your filming you made him look really brilliant and the models to thank you for putting in some of the actual layouts to I really enjoyed it I was there I was there on the Saturday with a friend and it was a good show, I would recommend the show to anyone and you did as well but you’re right about the prices one tip I would give take food with you if you’re there for one day and take a drink the food prices are not very nice keep up the good work Sam could you have a bit more great Westen please

Hornby instructions being wrong. Yes, I've just filmed a video for how to install their Mk3 coach lighting kit. Definitely a couple of errors in there. I think they write the instructions before the product is ready for production, then forget to update them 😕

The Hornby live steam is actually brilliant once you get the hang of it. I worked out my own way of operating it after many disasters using the hornby instructions and never had an issue after that. Real shame more locos wernt done.

Those Bachmann double fairlie locos look cool. At 6:57, i love the kato circus mini dioramas. I just recently began making some of those.

The Ellis Clark Austerity 2-10-0 is very tempting. I'd go with BR black with the early logo. I'm not sure about the KR version. Although their Big Bertha model makes me wish someone would make a SDJR 7F with the original cab tender.
Another temptation is Rapido's Jones Goods, a locomotive I've always been intrigued by. And I like their decision to develop pre-grouping models. Pity I'm not planning an OO layout anytime soon. (I want to build a larger scale narrow gauge layout.)

I'd like to see yout try the Fairlie, the WWI tank, the bogie coaches, box van, and Statfold Barn Brake van from Bachmann's 009 range. The EFE "Italian" Pacer caught my eye along with the O gauge diesel.
Those Ellis Clark articulated coaches are something I'd like to see you get someday. Articulated passenger cars that aren't complete trains always interested me
That Oxford crane looks lovely. Nice to see an OO gauge crane that isn't some giant post-WWII thing
I always wanted to see you take a look at a Peco-Kato George England, and you better get some of their TT wagons.
I'm glad the Port Of Par engines didn't need a 'tender' to house electronics in or supplement pickups
13:03 I kinda dig the red tanks and cab. Although I'd make the entire boiler black and the cylinders red too if I were to make it an actual livery
I always wanted to see Sam'sTrains run a live steam model. I'm not disappointed! I was always amazed Hornby was able to make live steam in OO scale, using track power to heat the boiler instead of using lighter fluid.

What a huge exhibition, the last time I was at an exhibition there it was £15 to get in, food was always going to be expensive, and parking was a bit of a shock. But great to see it still going. Not a cheap venue. But always fun.
Yeah, just daft prices these days... and Hornby Magazine are hosting an exhibition at the same venue next year and it's much cheaper.... so confusing!

We saw 34006 "Bude" at Warley, on the Gauge 1 layout - coal fired. I think that it's the smallest gauge that one can get real life coal firing , apart from 16mm on 32mm gauge. There is nothing like the real Stephenson event!
Shame it wasn't a longer video. I wonder if in future years there'll be a Sams Trains stand selling your models and merch. Good to see new Hornby TT120, also Peco who often get overlooked. Notable that very few new announced items are modern day subjects. Some manufacturers like Realtrack and Heljan were missed?
Yep - unfortunately it was pretty slow going - we met and talked to someone new literally every couple of minutes... thoroughly enjoyed it though! haha I did think about having a stand, but it'd mean missing the rest of the exhibition!
