Agree, he's fed up with that Vette. It got still the hole in the florpan and he paid 2k for the paint and haven't even insisted in the A-team/Faceman-Vette paintjob. Kind of a pitty. :(
I really appreciate how you say "if i can do this, you can too". Thats not exactly true, i have done some stuff be cause of you, but dont sell yourself short, its nothing less than miraculous how you pull a motor apart and remember how to get it all back. Its a gift. You have to have an amazing memory and an instinct for mechanics
I spent 50+ years restoring antique furniture. I became, "The Guy." who had other restorers send the Swampvette furniture to. I never turned anything away. I can say honestly that I was never beaten but I did run scared I'd fail more than once. When I saw them drop off the Swampvette I saw it as someone saying to you, your good at what you do, now let's see you show how good you really are. The Swampvette is what TH-cam legends are made of. Now someone will carry on and make it their own. The heavy lifting has been done.
Randy Harbor freight sells a wheel lock removal kit it comes with almost all the wheel lock keys you may want to pick it up for the swamp thing and other vehicles that have locks but no keys
I really enjoyed watching the swamp vette videos. I've watched many "resurrection" videos before but most videos end with the car driving down the road with a boat tank strapped to the roof. Very little effort is made to fix the car beyond that. It's nice to see someone take it to the next level. Obviously, it would a waste of money to do this to just any car, but a vette is not just any car. I like to see more of these videos in the future.
What a paintjob!!! Looks like sanded and buffed clearcoat! Amazingly good looking. YOU worked your ass off on that car and we watched it all. Now look at it! Your new house GARAGE is enormous @ six plus cars! You have any idea what the New ESTATE will look like once Spring comes and everything turns GREEN - leaves on the trees - OMG! Winter sucks big time but Spring is on the way. Can't wait to see videos of the ESTATE 3 - 4 months from now! WOW - YOU done good, young man! (Tons of hard work but LOOK! Sonny (CT)
Im going to be honest, first day that i saw your channel was like nehhh, but now im completely addicted to your videos teached me a lot about cars and life , i have no friends in my daily life, so in my lunch I usually sit and see your videos... you help me a lot with my days...❤️
its amazing to see the car in the condition it is in now compared to what it looked like when you first got it. you did one hell of a good job on this!
Randy, I will make a prediction. Swamp Vette will be the shining example to members/buyers at IAA that you can do amazing work, so that the Caprice and later the z4 (minus any surprises) will realize beaucoup bucks. Reason: it's not just a z4, it's AAR's z4 as seen on YT.
Yeah but do they really see who the seller is and would they actually put 2 and 2 together if they don't watch the channel? The cars will sell for what they're worth
LOL! Randy! I used to live in Gulf Breeze, Fl, and that's what I called them too! I had a deck on the back of my house, and every night if I turned on the deck light, that deck would be covered solid with them!
You also proved another point. You took a completely destroyed and flooded vehicle and turned it into a beautiful vehicle. She'll definitely have problems but worth it in the long run. Eventually she'll be factory for someone that wants to take the time to clean up the underside, patch up any holes and get a rust converter on the rusty areas and fix any other mechanical and cosmetic issues. Again, great job man! Once a neglected Corvette will hopefully get the love and caring she needs from a new owner!
Man great job with the Swamp Vet. I was overwhelmed when that thing rolled off the trailer too when you did the first walk around. I’m new to your channel. I first watched the Z24 video because I love Z24s but then I started watching the Swamp Vet series because I really appreciate the Corvettes. So you have a new subscriber here and I’ll definitely check out some more videos. Thank for sharing Randy.
That Corvette is looking phenomenal. You do some really awesome work on these cars I can tell you take pride in what you do. Thanks for sharing your experience with TH-camrs. I for one appreciate you. I hope you and your family are enjoying the new property.
These are the videos i love seeing. This is what i came to the channel for. Is to see cars that are destroyed and see them come back ro live and rebuilt.
And after seeing the work you can do. You can now buy those cars at auction that you really want and not be overwhelmed by the work it needs and then do get it. Instead you can take that car and make it amazing again
Randy, you make an excellent point about 'salvage' titled cars. It all depends on the nature of the damage as to why it was branded salvage. I worked for Copart in the aftermath of hurricane Harvey. We had nearly 40 thousand flood cars just at the one lot I was working. Yes, many had been completely under water. However, at least 30% of the cars were still completely drivable and never had any water inside the car. Basically, the wheels got wet, no more. Yet, they were still branded flood/salvage. Autoauctions.io is an excellent source for finding out the salvage history and oftentimes will have the original pictures from the salvage auction.
moral of this story is that everything happens for a reason and destiny is always bound to happen, that car was meant for you randy! you proved ur skills and that should be you’re trophy
Nice trailer! It's from my parents place, Custom Trailer Sales!! The Eliminators load right and haul good. Had a lot of miles on those type of car haulers. Keep the builds coming.
My whole life I've been told 'You can't polish a turd'. You proved everyone wrong with "Swamp Vette". That red looks right on it. Great job. Take care. (now the song 'Little Red Corvette' is stuck in my head.) LOL
Man that color is perfect. I'm not ti-red of it :) Look who's laughing now!!! That Impala needs some minor paint brush touch-ups and an interior massage. With the windows tinted she's a gem. Sad to see the end of Swamp Vette but plenty more cool projects to keeps us all entertained down the road. Thanks Randy.
I can’t wait for you to run this through the auction and showing a clean title with you knowing that threw you and auction I O. Know the ugly truth. Randy you made her look proper and proud all over again it looks great good job thank you for all your hard work
You turned a "Turd" into a "Gem". This vette shows everyone how good you are at what you do Randy! Great job and thank you for all the content you provide us all!
Randy, thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU for bringing us along on this wonderful rebuild❗️ This is what AAR is all about‼️ Thank you for staying true to your roots. You ought to give us a video featuring the Swamp Vette AND the SN95 Mustang GT side by side before sending them off to IAA. (it would also be great to give us burnouts on both of those cars that you could use as intro/exit shots for AAR) This is what I tune in for, Auto Auction REBUILDS👍 Keep it up and PLEASE STAY SAFE ❣️
I'm quite happy that you rescued that poor Corvette. It didn't deserve to be consumed by the Florida swamp. Also, I do have a bizarre fascination with various MOPAR vehicles like the Ramcharger, so Austin will definitely have me following his work on that one.
This channel is so good, Randy. This series with the Swamp C4 has been my introduction to your content and I dig it. Right on, man. Almost makes me want to pick up a C4. Almost.
20, I am in ND and it's going to be 28 below tomorrow and i was out today this morning and it was 20 below. All our cars need to start in the cold :) Watching this as I had a 87 Vette, it actually got me to work in winter when it was 17 below. I had it in the garage and my other car did not start (caddy with battery under back seat, did not like super cold). I normally left it in the garage in winter and would never do it again, was like the road was greased, those big tires made it the worst icy road driving experience I have ever had. a fun watch, in 210 years the c4's are going to be worth something as right now they are not so they are going to junkyards.
I think it was worth it. Swamp Corvette is a survivor... Just because of that it was worth saving. and you did a fantastic Job on it. I think it deserved all you did.
Hey Randy, All you gotta do to remove the locks if you just have one on each rim. You loosen the 4 lug nuts enough so the rim can move then you go straight forward and backwards hitting the brakes firmly back and fourth. I think you can also do it with 3 lugs total, then It will get you to the point you can unscrew them. I had to do that on my truck at home since I didn't have the key and I couldn't hammer a socket on it to impact it off enough. You can also reverse brake backwards or whatever makes it moves lose a few times to see if it comes loose quicker.
What a blessing in disguise!!! Swampvette is the reason I started watching your channel. Great work and amazing attention to detail getting it to look as good as it does now.
swamp vet looks awesome, can't believe it transformed so quick. come on up to chicago for some real cold weather lol it's nasty up here man. hasn't been above 10 degrees in over a week, good times.
Randy a tip for getting off the security lug nuts when you don’t have the key. Find a socket that fits over the outside of the lug nut and use a ratchet to loosen it. This has saved me before when I lost the lug nut key.
You did a good job bring swamp vette back from the dead. Did you ever connect with Samcrac to discuss why he felt compelled to send that fine specimen to you? I’d purchase that Caprice in a minute! Looking forward to seeing it on the Auction site. Really looking forward to seeing the Z4 content. I think your interpretation of why that car was sent to you is bang on...and I think it speaks volumes about those who sent it to you and about yourself for how you turned lemons into lemon aid.
Randy. You did an awesome some rebuilding swamp vette. You should be proud of yourself as you possess the mechanical skill sets and determination to transform this car from a non runner piece of junk into a running and driving good looking sports car. Great job 👏
I pretty much went through the same kind of thing with a coin operated Bump N Jump video arcade game someone gave to me for free, it had sat exposed to the elements outside in someone's back yard for like 15 years and pretty much all of the wood of the cabinet was disintegrating and the bottom was completely gone. I managed to reconstruct it a new cabinet using what was left of the old as a template and transferred all the metal and electronic parts over to it and now it looks brand new, I'm almost done working on it outside of replacing some artwork and aside from some monitor issues it's working.
Hey man, grab an old 1/2 drive socket about the same size as the lug nut, put an extension on it and pound it on the locking lug. That has always done the trick for me.
Wow what a story and what a transformation I love to see that you took at project on instead of just leaving it I give you mad props for bringing the swap vette back to life and enjoying it and we all knew you could get the vette back on the road
Great job Randy looks awesome. Any reputable tire shop has the proper tools to take the lock nuts off. People lose them all the time it's actually quite common
Randy, Swamp Vette is absolutely a miraculous transformation. Great going turning it around! Love your channel, great content! Keep being the real deal :D
I tell you what Randy. That swamp Corvette is something special in my opinion because everything that it went through and it looked like it would never run cause it sat in water you turned a swamp thing into a beautiful thing and gave it life. What an amazing job my friend. To me personally that vette is something special. Keep up the great content
You're a cool guy and even if the donation of the Corvette was a joke, you turned it into TH-cam gold. Your success also made me double down on my own C4 Corvette's needs because damn, if THAT can be rehabilitated, etc.
The paint looks excellent man! It s amazing the difference is like night and day. Air up the tire and drive to the tire store and they can get the wheel off no problem its what they do. That vett looks so good I would not mind driving that. It needs new door seals. And yea I heard you say your done with it. The new owner can redo the door seals. It runs really great you did well. You out did yourself it was a complete mess for sure. The Lucus is the best fuel additive for fuel injection cleaning. The paint is pretty bad ass looking.
Randy first off congrats on saving a beautiful corvette , yes a corvette , I don't want to call it a C4 OR SWAMP THING though I know that's what is , but this is a corvette that's all I need bcos I don't think I can ever afford any corvette bcos they are expensive , hard to get hand's on cars man they are one of the american cars built to perform and look like supercars thats why corvettes are special and thank you so much for saving this beast and beauty man , she is clean , perfect and pristine in my opinion . Once again congrats from me and my family on the accomplishment , but before I finish up my comment I want to request in the next video when your tinting this beast please get these minor , minor thing's done please Randy as you final last things to do on it :- 1- Replace that sensor that causes the REV meter not to work properly. 2- the Door seals you said you would replace them right!! 3- Head right now over to Harbor freight where you will get a complete wheel lock removal kit its very cheap and you can afford it and change the tires . Randy these are the only three simple things that will take a Pro like you to do all this together in a few minutes please!!!! just these three things , clean it up fully and in my opinion she is 100% perfect and the next person can enjoy it as a beautiful sports car , as a daily driver and as a garage queen. God bless you and your family , amazing people you all are , Stay safe.
Cool Randy vett turned out 🚘🔥🔥nice. The koi fish will practically hibernate in extreme temps ! I would leave the filter running so it doesn't deep freeze. Im sure its plenty deep enough 4 to 5 ft, complete set up is awesome with the new house 🌟Smooth bro
Randy,. You should be proud of Swamp Vette ....it is a testament to what can be done if you apply yourself. I'm wondering if this wasn't a test by IAA to see what you could do. If anything..Swamp Vette is a great Promotional tool for you at AAR and IAA to show the potential of what can be done with salvage cars .
That’s a car that show your heart and soul in your job (i mean mecanic not you tuber of course) and god you got some love into this ... hope you are gonna find a full project for the next one and show this a gain .... can’t wait ....
If you have a welder, tack-weld a lugnut on the top of the locking lugnut to remote them. When I got my Shelby Mustang (restore project, sitting 13+ years), the previous owner had lost the key to remove the wheels, so that's what I ended up doing to get them off. :)
This would be something if you should send some pictures (before and after) to the Corvette Museum in Kentucky. This turned out very well for what it is.
In Myrtle Beach we call em “Palmetto Bugs”. They live in the sewers underneath the streets, pretty much anywhere where it’s dark and moist. Occasionally they’ll wonder into the garage and inside your house. Terminex and Orkin are very popular around here.
Key lock remover can be got at autozone it goes on in reverse and easily removes lugnut . It creates a thread by just screwing it on any security lock comes in 2 sizes. Worked great for some guy that had a flat on Sunday and was on vacation. He would of had to take cab home and tow car. He was hours away from home. I helped him he didn’t have lock so I removed lock and was able to put spare tire on.
Save money running the water pump by putting some soccer balls in the ponds overnight. The water will freeze around, but not under them. Remove them in the morning and you'll see a nice circle of unfrozen water. Might want to leave them in, if you're staying down at AAR HQ. To get rid of the murkiness, put bundles of straw (not loose for obvious reasons) in them too. They'll be nice and clear by late spring and you can then remove the straw.
Randy again you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone about why you do what you did . Didn’t the red vette have an issue with the trans or something. Anyway you produced something from nothing. The car looks great. If I was a fan of red I would be all over it when it went to auction. You’re committed to your family, friends and especially work . You don’t have to prove nothing to anyone. Keep up the great work. I’m not on Facebook, Instagram or any of that other crap . I watch you on TH-cam and it’s relaxing and very entertaining. I look forward to watching your videos when I get notifications. Stay safe, healthy and WARM. It’s freakin’ cold in Jersey to !!!
Take an old socket the is just a little bit smaller than the locks and hammer it on the lock nut. I have had to do it on my own cars in the past to remove rounded lug nots and lock luggage nots.
Nice work with the corvette! Especially for the total cost! You are doing great! I like the fact that you give value to, otherwise scrap, cars. There is one thing though : please stop throwing car keys on car tops!!
Thanks so much for this video series I live in Oklahoma City and this series has really given me a lot of help when it comes to figuring out issues with my own c4
Please Don’t Sell Swamp Thing!!! That thing is like a trophy!!!
No that thing is gold colored shit. Randy did his job and did it pretty damn well he can now make some money on it. But there’s no reason to keep it
Buy it
Agree, he's fed up with that Vette. It got still the hole in the florpan and he paid 2k for the paint and haven't even insisted in the A-team/Faceman-Vette paintjob. Kind of a pitty. :(
Kid Car Critic that car is not worth keeping so i cant not wait for him to sell it time for something batter then it
Not really a trophy
I really appreciate how you say "if i can do this, you can too". Thats not exactly true, i have done some stuff be cause of you, but dont sell yourself short, its nothing less than miraculous how you pull a motor apart and remember how to get it all back. Its a gift. You have to have an amazing memory and an instinct for mechanics
About $15 at harbor freight gets you a wheel lock removal kit to get those wheel locks off
I spent 50+ years restoring antique furniture.
This is true. There are also a ton of you tube videos about it.
Or just hammer an old socket on
@@tedtriestech8864 that works but it takes more time then just picking the right key from the kit
@@tedtriestech8864 #coldchisel
As Randy pulled up on the trailer, how many were pointing to move over!!!
LOL I caught myself doing this 3 times
Me
I really enjoyed watching the swamp vette videos. I've watched many "resurrection" videos before but most videos end with the car driving down the road with a boat tank strapped to the roof. Very little effort is made to fix the car beyond that. It's nice to see someone take it to the next level. A Palmetto Bug is a oversized roach.. We have them here in GA as well.
Roachzilla
Some fly as well
Yeah and 1 inch is on the small size
What a paintjob!!! Looks like sanded and buffed clearcoat! Amazingly good looking. YOU worked your ass off on that car and we watched it all. Now look at it! Your new house GARAGE is enormous @ six plus cars! You have any idea what the New ESTATE will look like once Spring comes and everything turns GREEN - leaves on the trees - OMG! its amazing to see the car in the condition it is in now compared to what it looked like when you first got it. you did one hell of a good job on this!
My goodness, that shine, that gloss. It's BEAUTIFUL!!! WOW!!!
hi Randy, Grind off the chrome on the lock nut, weld a large nut onto it and remove with a breaker bar. Works every time.
Or weld on some other nuts on it and remove it
THIS IS TRUE! especially where i am in ASIA where buying special tool is nearly impossible .....i have a 200A MIG and i do that all the time.

Randy you are a Great Guy, and have a Great TH-cam Channel!!!
It's still a piece of
Art 😍💖Swampthing, I think you move me..
Amazing project Randy, I enjoyed every second of it 👍
Surprisingly. I don't see the big Rouches where I'm at down here in Florida. Swamp thing looks GREAT!!!
My whole life I've been told 'You can't polish a turd'. You proved everyone wrong with "Swamp Vette". That red looks right on it. Great job. Take care. (now the song 'Little Red Corvette' is stuck in my head.) LOL
Swamp vette has been one of the best series of vids. Hope we can get another dead to driving series soon.
Randy you made her look proper and proud all over again it looks great good job thank you for all your hard work
by far one of my favorite project cars on youtube! Great job Randy!
You turned a "Turd" into a "Gem". This vette shows everyone how good you are at what you do Randy! Great job and thank you for all the content you provide us all!
Great job Randy can't believe its the same car you turned an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan loving the videos from a chilly great Britain 👏👍
This is your biggest succes ! Do alp the work that needs and one day when you have big HQ of yours this can be your trophy

This channel is so good, Randy. This series with the Swamp C4 has been my introduction to your content and I dig it. Right on, man. Almost makes me want to pick up a C4. Almost.
I've used a 12 point, a little smaller than the lug nut. Knock it on good. I've gotten a bunch loose that way.

Try Eckler's Corvette in Florida for the lug nut key . I've purchased a lot of parts from them for my 1986 Vette over the last few years .
Eckler's might have your door trim piece too . I'd hate to see you put a new paint job on the car and then put a cobbled up trim piece back on it .
Thanks Randy, That ‘85 Vette Looks Amazing!!
Hey Randy, All you gotta do to remove the locks if you just have one on each rim. Remarkable transformation for Swampvette!
Nice work Randy!! It looks awesome !!! Can’t believe that’s the same swamp thing...💪🏼👍🏼

Wow you done well with swamp Vette ,macco did a great job on the paint work.Great work Randy.
Swamp Vette has come a long way! Every time I see that trailer, I love it more and more!
Show em Randy .. u did good on the SwampVett... .. thumbs up

You might want to have a temporary 4' guild pole mounted front center with a tennis ball on top!
Binging in this corvette restoration.
Awesomeness 👌
Hey man, grab an old 1/2 drive socket about the same size as the lug nut, put an extension on it and pound it on the locking lug. That has always done the trick for me.
That vete is a prove that this channel is called auto auction rebuilds not without a reason :) great job.
I had to comment again when I heard how many views u have had. Congratulations man everyone is seeing y us old viewers love yr channel
We got the first snow for where I live (Vancouver Washington) today and it’s gonna go through sunday
I tell you what Randy. That swamp Corvette is something special in my opinion because everything that it went through and it looked like it would never run cause it sat in water you turned a swamp thing into a beautiful thing and gave it life. What an amazing job my friend. To me personally that vette is something special. Keep up the great content
I love how far swamp vet has come you said you was going to get it to running drive and you did it talking about a man of his word!!
Once again congrats from me and my family on the accomplishment , but before I finish up my comment I want to request in the next video when your tinting this beast please get these minor , minor thing's done please Randy as you final last things to do on it :-
1- Replace that sensor that causes the REV meter not to work properly.
That red is awesome randy!! I enjoyed story time bro! Remarkable transformation!!
Snow pole driveway marker with magnetic base would work great on your trailer for car placement and alignement.
Great job on the Corvette! You really brought her around and amazing that she runs after being flooded. Crazy!
swamp thing is running better because she is proud of her new dress. way to go Randy!t
U sir just got all my respect!!!! Taking on that challenge is awesome!!! Hats off brother
If you have a welder, tack-weld a lugnut on the top of the locking lugnut to remote them. When I got my Shelby Mustang (restore project, sitting 13+ years), the previous owner had lost the key to remove the wheels, so that's what I ended up doing to get them off. :)
Swamp Vette is by far your best project yet - going to take a lot to top it. Love the color!
Wow! Swamp Vette turned out fantastic. Keep 'em coming Randy.
This would be something if you should send some pictures (before and after) to the Corvette Museum in Kentucky. This turned out very well for what it is.
You absolutely killed it on SwampVette! She looks and runs awesome. Great job man!
In Myrtle Beach we call em “Palmetto Bugs”. They live in the sewers underneath the streets, pretty much anywhere where it’s dark and moist. Occasionally they’ll wonder into the garage and inside your house. Terminex and Orkin are very popular around here.
Roaches,

I lived in Kuwait and the Roaches there are up to 3 inches long and crawl out of the toilet.
@@cmb1972 oh Jesus
As a fellow Myrtle beacher yes I call them palmetto bugs
Really nice work Randy! You accomplished your goal and we all watching you make you make meet your goal every step of the way. Awesome!
To get wheel locks or any lug off that wont turn u hammer on 1 size 2 small socket then use a 3-4 foot breaker bar to break it loose. Works everytime.
Randy you are the best!!!
You do such amazing work on all of the cars you get!
Swamp Vette looks Amazing!!!
Hey Randy, the corvette looks a million times better, still needs a few things here and there but a huge transformation!!
When I was young and still living with my mom, our neighbor had a very nice Ramcharger
Swamp Vette looks amazing great job Randy sending love and respect from Boston 💯💖💖🙏🙏
And this is why you are my favorite TH-cam channel. Great work Randy. Look forward to the next impossible rebuild 💯👍🏻.
Looks great! I enjoyed watching you work magic on swampvette. 👏👏👏👏👏
Great work Randy , im enjoying to follow you and your videos here from Denmark .
Thanks so much for this video series I live in Oklahoma City and this series has really given me a lot of help when it comes to figuring out issues with my own c4
