As one of your subscribers who've actually met you, a very chilly January morning 2023, I can say to all those reading this in youtube land, Rachel is a lovely person and deserves her happy ending.
Tony, that is the loveliest comment, thank you 😊 If you are back up for the running show in the new year and are running at Arrow Valley, you must let me know. Hopefully it won’t be as frosty 🥶 …. and good luck with Beachy Head!
Hi Al, thank you. I think my personality is to just keep going and not give up, whether that’s for the best or not I don’t know. There’s been some nice rewards for seeing it through though 😊
Great running as always Rachel and the video was up to your usual high standard. The end of the video was very heart warming. Personally the first half of the summer was very stressful but running I find very helpful when dealing with difficult situations. Best wishes with your future running races and challenges.
Hi Geoff, I hope your stresses have eased a bit now. Running has lots more benefits than just getting fit, doesn’t it. It can help in so many ways. I’m looking forward to lots of new challenges but definitely taking it easier towards the end of the year now 😊
Hi Mary. Yep, I’m still here 😁 Summer was very busy and finding time to edit the footage was hard to find. It’s all up to date now so hopefully easier to keep the videos uploaded 😊 Hope you are well!
Really liked the ending, I think at the end of the video you are telling us you have met a special person, that’s great you are such a nice giving person
What a fantastic summer you have had, some brilliant running achievements but topped it off with some personal milestones too! I am really pleased for you both, onwards and upwards!
Short and sweet video Rachel. Loved it and thanks for the update. Really happy for you and as always enjoy hearing about your running adventures. Looking forward to the next installment to see what you tackle next. Fall racing is coming up! Congrats on the age group win as well.
Hi Eddie, thank you. There’s been a lot to update with as I’ve had loads of new adventures over the last couple of months. I need to start editing or my phone memory will run out with all the clips I have 🤣
Great to see a video posted by you again. That course looked challenging and your quads and knees must have felt tender after those downhills. Excellent video as always.
Hi Donald, it was the hardest course of the 4, even though it was the shortest. A bit like I said in the video, 5 fast miles on hills vs 50 slow ultra miles… I’d take the longer version any day 😁
Thanks Rachel. Really enjoyed this video. Really pleased that everything has worked out well. Looking forward to the next video. Ps. Always interesting to hear people’s running journeys because no two are the same. You ran this race 10 years ago. Can I ask how long have you been running for?
Hi Colin. Hope you’re back to running again now? I’ve always been active but started running when I was about 17/18. I joined my local running club for about a year before I joined the Army. I ran a few races but it was in my early 20’s that I had my children which is where running became much more sporadic but since 2010 I’ve been on a continuous streak of improvement with training and times. That’s the short version 😁 I think I might be unusual in that I’m still getting pbs after so long but I’m training far smarter than my younger self. Not sure for how much longer though, I’ll have to peak at some point 🙂
@@racheld1844 Nice one, Rachel. Always said everybody's running journey is unique and yours is a good example of this. Improving and getting PB's in 30's, 40's and beyond can happen for various reasons. Commitment, training techniques and having more time can be factors. Yeah, I'm back running after a 3 month layoff, but am way off where I was. Just running again is a blessing - I'll never lose sight of that.
@@MrCol104 - that’s lovely to here you’re running again Colin. I totally get the newfound appreciation after having time out with injury/illness. I remember getting back to running fast after a calf injury meant I could do nothing but slow runs. When I was first pushing hard again at parkruns and it was getting tough I’d remind myself that a few months before, I’d have given anything to have been able to run fast again. Not sure that thought process lasted long 🤣 but I do get that being able to run full stop is quite an important thing. Hope your rebuild goes well and that your fitness levels pick back up to where it was 🤞
@@racheld1844 Thanks Rachel. I actually race a sub 3 hour (2:58:57) at Chester marathon yesterday which is so pleasing. Chest issue is still there but it’s manageable’. If you get chance to run Chester marathon, I can not recommend it enough. Just a really good event.
@@MrCol104 - that’s brilliant Colin! Perfect sub 3 hour running and with chest problems still lingering too. My friend ran there yesterday and was also going for sub 3, but the last few hills added an extra minute on for him. I’ve never run an Autumn road marathon before. I’ll be choosing a spring marathon soon so will be looking at starting up a new training block in the new year. What are you plans now?

Perseverance, patience and hard work paying off in the end !! Congratulations Rachel. What a great video.

Hi Paul, yes, a definite plot twist at the end 😁
I love your channel. I was wondering where you’d gone this summer! Glad is a great season. Love from across the pond in Maine ❤

Hi Mack. Thank you 😊
Like watching an old fashioned Disney film with the happy ending ❤👍
Thank you. I should see if Disney wants to take the story to the big screen 😁

Although perhaps your greatest success was inspiring me to take my dusty shoes out for a run today!
Hi Alan. Thank you! Hope you had a great run? ….and even more so that the trainers don’t need dusting off next time 😁
So happy for you, great video as always
Hi Paul, thank you 😊
What a lovely ending Rachel! Some really superb running too! You absolutely nailed that final race and big congrats on the overall win! 👏😎🤘🏅
