True... it's actually great to see that this level of passion, dedication and skilled crafts are being maintained and encouraged to continue at businesses like these. Very important conservation work that they undertake. This is automotive history they are preserving, for future generations
And how does one become that skilled? I would love to work in such a place but in sales or marketing. I don’t have the dexterity or patience for fiddling things.
What was charged for Craig's wonderful work sounds an absolute bargain, his brilliant craftsmanship will last a lifetime and is a reflection of Tyrrell's Classic Workshop's quality services.
Exactly what I thought !! This is not expensive enough for this incredible work....You can count one one hand the people in the world who can do this kind of magic so perfectly....
I could imagine that Craig is kind of working for himself,as he might be not an "real" employe in the whole shop.He pays maybe an amount of money to Iian for the "Place in the Shop" he is working at.
Very much how I imagine the designers and the people at the factory would have liked to do it back in the day, without having to worry about getting through sales volumes and back orders. There's something to be said for totally original cars and their preservation, but I do love when we get to see what the original dream was without the real world getting in the way
I admire the top drawer craftmanship. I also admire the sheer confidence of Craig, to take the car of a Lamborghini historian and KNOW he can produce a full leather interior to a higher standard than factory. Truly admirable.
I don't think that car interiors - either in design or build quality - get enough attention. This is, after all, where you'll be spending most of your time. So it's a real credit to yourselves to show this interior in its standalone episode. The Espada isn't my favourite designed car but the interior is really a work of art. So often (too often) I feel it is the other way around. A real credit to you...
Craigs workmanship is just sublime. We’ve just got to hope craftsman like him will still be in the trade in years to come. Love watching these videos and please keep them coming.
“Launch it into the car”?! What on earth sort of carpet cannon is being employed over there?! LOLZ. Wonderful video once again Mr. Tyrrell! Thank you for sharing and impeccable interior work on that Espada by your craftsman Craig!!!!!
That colour combination of exterior and interior is absolutely glorious. Well done to Craig & the gang plus I guess a salute to the owner willing to cough up the dough for such work.
I'm a car guy, former vehicle developer for GM's sporty cars, and also for Lexus, I restore a car each year, so I appreciate the metal bits of vehicle generally. However that's changed as I embarked on a project to reupholster a vehicle myself in leather - learning the ins and outs of this tricky and unforgiving material, buying my first sewing machine, essentially interviewing upholstery shop owners, etc. So, it is with this recent development in mind that I nominate Craig as the true hero of the shop on many of your projects. Interior restoration is the art, the driver experience that must be right. Driver and passenger spend very little time looking at the exterior, compared to having the interior to look at 100% of the time they are interacting with the vehicle. Bravo for putting this out, and for the love of craft, Craig.
"Old-school gentlemen", too-true and exemplary craftsmen to boot! I was never much of an Espada fan, but each time there is feature on them, I grow more enamoured by these fabulous GT cars and equally of the quality and attention to detail Iain and his crew bring to the task for, which the term "bespoke" is absolutely in tune with the car and its presence. I suppose one must blame Harry Metcalfe and his achingly beautiful Espada engine rebuilds which kicked-off Tyrells Classic Workshop for this, but what a joy to see this kind of content and to see the modesty of people like Craig as he works with an overlocker and a lifetime of skill applied to achieve astonishing degrees of perfection. Just an amazing job.
Congratulations Craig for your unbelievable craftsmanship!!! I'm delighted to see the result of your work. How proud you should feel Ian having this kind of master working for you!!!!
There's a lot more to interior trimming than you'd think at a cursory glance...and especially in the older cars with what's essentially a bespoke interior. Fascinating stuff. 👍
This was bought at Artcurial Retromobile in Feb 2023 I think ? I remember looking at it. Ghastly oppressive black suede interior. The car is transformed ! Well worth the retrim cost. Bravo !
Yet again i so admire Craigs work, this is what we take for granted in the likes of cars on a production line, the unsung heroes of the likes of RR, Bentley, Ferrari and Lamborghini, just stunning.
Nerdy? Maybe a little bit. True craftmanship? Yes, absolute! And to see Craigs smile, explaining the carpet makes the world a better place! (And I love the part, doing the stitching on the handles for the rear windows) Great video, thank you so much! Greetings from Austria!
11 hides! And it looks exquisite, and must smell gorgeous too. Sometimes it's easy to forget how big the Espada is, and it still looks stunning. Well done, Craig, for superb craftsmanship. Worth every penny. Please keep up the videos, Mr T and lock Craig away in your safe at night.
Thanks for including the details on what the cars cost when made... this history really adds to the presentation... the craft work on the car is superb...
Craig. Master craftsman. Continually Craig surprises in his obvious demonstrable delight in delivering what he thought was far above the clients expectation in pursuit of the perfect outcome but actually did better. The only thing you didn't share with us was sitting in the car and inhaling the retrimmed glorious smell. Well done gentlemen.
I think the proper interior trimmers work goes underappreciated in the online car community space, especially TH-cam, this should help them get the recognition they deserve, for probably the most skilled and hardest to achieve perfection element of any car which is a fine interior.
Such a privilege to be shown artisan craftsmanship at its best. Iain, you and your team just blow my mind with your knowledge, expertise and dedication. I think I’m not alone in saying we always want more. 🏆🥇
Lovely to see Craigs work - thank you again Iain and crew for letting us see what true workmanship really is. An absolute honor. And to the owner's of these cars who do appreciate them enough to spend the money to have them put right.
Sensational workmanship! Craig must be content knowing he will never be unemployed. I've never liked black interiors in cars. Give me some light colours every time. 👍
I own a Lamborgini LM002 ,I got true a heritage from a family member who lived in Germany, unfortunately the car stood years in his garage, I have it stockpiled it know in a friend's garage, to make the car driveble its estimated it would cost a lot( I will not say the amount in euro),what I do know is where to bring it too...the craftsmanship, the knowledge and the honesty of Mr Tyrell and his crew is truly exceptional, thy fore it
Good to see Craig getting the public recognition he so richly deserves. I've no doubt that were the original craftsmen who trimmed this car watching, they too would be in awe of his skill and attention to detail. I very much doubt he signs his work as it would not be original, but he will have the satisfaction of knowing it will be part of the history of this car for the next fifty years. If this car ever comes up for sale somewhere in the seller description will be the words "interior by Craig...".
Stunning and superb workmanship. A far cry from 98% of the retrimming I see on classic cars these days, that which I see being done on Rolls-Royce and Bentley being the worst. Flat flutes and no crowns to bolsters seem to be the order of the day, but not do with the fabulous work Craig does. Absolutely brilliant artistry and craftsmanship!
I love how close to a nervous breakdown Craig laughingly allows himself to come. I've waited (as someone who worked seasonally in a leather shop for 5 years) a long time for a dedicated episode...an Espada-sode no less!
Oh my lord. Stunning work, absolutely beautiful. It was worth hearing everything Craig and Ian had to say. I can imagine how nice the Espada smells now.
Craig u r out of control mate, awesome. this man must live on 20 coffees n no sleep per day. Craig reminds me of the old fella that did all the metal work on Harrys Lancia Fulvia. head shaking stuff.
It's an honor and privilege to view a true Master's work.
It’s not nerdy, it’s true craftsmanship. Brilliant Craig!
True... it's actually great to see that this level of passion, dedication and skilled crafts are being maintained and encouraged to continue at businesses like these. Very important conservation work that they undertake. This is automotive history they are preserving, for future generations
Exactly! Brilliant work and incredible dedication.
Incredible craftsmanship. Craig is a true artist.
He most definitely is
And humble with it.
@@iain_tyrrell If he doesn't _Charge like a wounded bull_ ; pun intended - he flippin' well ought to!
There can't be many people in existence who can trim a car to this level of quality and craftsmanship
And how does one become that skilled? I would love to work in such a place but in sales or marketing. I don’t have the dexterity or patience for fiddling things.
Craig and his colleagues are proper 100% craftspeople. Amazing quality.
Craig is looking far more relaxed in front of the camera. He certainly shows a lot of passion for his craft.
Agreed. Very good value. No doubt a whole lot more challenging not having it's original trim too.
Agreed. That’s not dear for that breathtaking quality work
Well said.
Craig needs a raise! Such a master craftsman
I notice this one hasn’t been “liked” by Iain :)

That interior is far better than factory. Amazing craftsmanship.
I was thinking exactly the same...

Always a pleasure when you visit Craig's Corner. Wonderful craftsman and comes across as a really good guy.
Always a treat to sit, have my coffee, and watch a Tyrrell's Classic Workshop, and Harry's Garage episode, on a Sunday!
True, that is a really good way to enjoy a break. I can also recommend Auto shenanigans.
He takes a closer look at a piece of UK each week

Wow, pure artisinal craftsmanship and artistry. You're very lucky to have Craig working for you Iain!
Craig is an absolutely incredible craftsman. His ability and attention to detail is truly world class. What a superb episode.
That colour combination of exterior and interior is absolutely glorious. Well done to Craig & the gang plus I guess a salute to the owner willing to cough up the dough for such work.
There is nothing nerdy about Craig’s fine work recognizing a valued employee. You can see it in his smile.
Oh there's everything nerdy about it, and that's why we love it!
I love this channel so much that I’m happy to overlook Mr. Tyrrell’s mispronunciation of “epitome!”
I think it may have been tongue in cheek!
The British have an amusing way of speaking English.

@@iain_tyrrellOwners had to be seriously rich to buy an Espada. No finance, so you had to have the money to buy it whilst paying over 80% tax.
It's astonishing how gorgeous the Miura and Espada still look - 55 years after they were designed.
"Old-school gentlemen", too-true and exemplary craftsmen to boot! I do feel very honoured and proud. We have the “A” team!
Craig is a wonderful craftsman, and invaluable member of staff. More nerdy stuff is welcome.
Craig is one of those one in a million guys with an insanely high skill level, attention for detail and desire to go for nothing less but perfection.
Craftsmen like Craig deserve recognition for how good they are. Not Nerdy at all.

What a gorgeous interior, most modern cars don’t have elegance like that. Craig is at the apex of his craft.
Oh joy another Lamborghini Espada! Magnificent.
The Espada deserves this perfect interior at whatever the cost. An absolute classic of 60s exotic Italian design.
Hats off to Craig. What a superb bit of craftmanship.
Gentlemen, what a pleasure to watch Iain treat Craig with all that respect for his fantastic „nerdiness“. Two thumbs up from Germany!

Unbelievable craftsmanship. A real masterpiece 3:30
I always loved the NACA ducts on the hood.
That's amazing work by Craig. You can tell he's a perfectionist, and makes sure every detail is correct, even if no one will ever see it.
Superb craftsmanship, Craig. As one tradesman to another, I respect your integrity and your fastidious approach to the work.

A piece of art. Restoring is almost always about engines and coachwork, and it's so cool to see this!
I'm 56 years old but would happily work as an apprentice under his tutoliage to be able to do this. Beautiful work.
You say that but it’s murder. On the knees, on the body, breathing chemicals.
Craig truly is a master craftsman. I hope he got a nice bonus, Iain 😊
That was a magic carpet ride! Thanks a lot for all the work that went into showing the little details that make the big difference in restauration.
that was not nerdy it was detail oriented . And another great show .
Congratulations chaps - Craig what a skill and patience you have - it`s increased my admiration for the `sword' even more.
Truly outstanding work. The Italian crafts people that did the originals would approve of these methods and the skill involved.
Craig you are an amazing craftsman. Absolutely beautiful!

This reminds me of an episode of Topgear, can car be a piece of art. In this case, it certainly can! Awesome result!
Thanks!
To me this comes across as the antithesis of Top Gear.... nothing explodes and doors don't fall off anything. Though James May would probably love it.
