      +Christian De me too! Does the paint look a bit watered down? To make it easier to clean possibly?

    • @GEfromNJ
      @GEfromNJ 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      +Christian De Yeah seriously. It seemed like it was water-soluble paint, and everything (clothes, luggage, etc) looked to non-absorbent. So hopefully it was just the crew quickly wiping things down with lots of Sham-wows.

      +Christian De That's exactly what I was thinking. What a nightmare to clean that up 8 times. :-)

      +Frédéric Sidler I mean, considering they were sponsored, I seriously wondered if they just switched planes after each take, haha. The water-soluble paint theories above make more sense though.

    • @macaoron
      @macaoron 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They probably did an 8th one just in case (usually called a safety shot), but the 8th shot turned out to be the better shot because 1. the paint didn't hit the lens and blur everything and 2. Tim's balloon with blue paint was more in-your-face.

    • @eladbari
      @eladbari 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** yeah, man! that blue balloon exploded so nicely! There was a more appealing "choreography" of everything [ppl and objects] in the frame on the 8th take. seemed more seamless and all the time there was something interesting to see with smooth transitions from each action to action :]

    I didn't know you could have such a long Zero G phase with a plane, thought it was only like 30 seconds max

    • @2L84U
      @2L84U 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TheRealBeatMaster It is 30 seconds max - the video was split into 20-30 second parts which were filmed independently, with breaks as the plane had gravity again, then the shots were merged in post-production. Each of the takes in this video will have been done on completely separate flights, as they'll have needed time to clean the plane.

    • @TheRealBeatMaster
      @TheRealBeatMaster 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      doctorwhofan98 I expected cuts, but I didn't see them, it's so well done!

    What is the science behind these anti-gravity moments?

    • @laserfloyd
      @laserfloyd 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Maja Stojanova The plane flies parabolas which is basically like going up a hill and down a hill over and over. That same butterfly feeling you get when an elevator drops but way more prolonged. The plane dives at a freefall rate which simulates microgravity.
      Astronauts and cosmonauts use these planes to train in because up in the space station the same thing happens but it happens all day, every day. The ISS is constantly falling towards the earth but it's moving so fast that it never hits the earth. That's basically what an orbit is.
      It's fascinating but that constant up and down motion can wreak havoc on people who get motion sickness. You'll notice the lead singer (forgot his name) had a patch behind his ear. I'm betting that's some kind of motion sickness patch. :)

    • @SergioBonilla1
      @SergioBonilla1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Maja Stojanova science.howstuffworks.com/zero-g1.htm
      The band also explains it here, with a wikipedia link: okgo.net/2016/02/11/upside-down-inside-out-faq/
      And the band explaining it in a video:
      facebook.com/HiWeAreSweet/videos/543510315823210/?hc_location=ufi

    • @lajoswinkler
      @lajoswinkler 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Maja Stojanova laserfloyd explained it thoroughly, and I'll add that this isn't any antigravity. Gravity never ceases to act, whether it's OK Go guys or astronauts. They're all falling at the same acceleration as the craft so they don't feel their weight as the floor is not pushing against them. Gravity is what's pulling both of them, except the ones in orbit have such high lateral speed they never hit the ground.
      Every time you jump you experience the same thing, but it lasts for a very short time.

  • @Gilotopia
    @Gilotopia 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You guys don't know the lyrics?

    • @SergioBonilla1
      @SergioBonilla1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Gilotopia They broke the song down into parts to sing for each 27 second weightless section. Then they had to stay in their last spot for 5 minutes as the plane was reset for the next section. They're getting the timing right of where they should be and what they should be singing next.
