How to take a blood pressure

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... We walk through the steps of a normal blood pressure as well as a palpated blood pressure.
-patient consent
-patient sitting upright and relaxed in chair
-right size bp cuff
-apply an inch above where you will apply stethoscope
-ensure stethoscope is on right side of diaphragm
-inflate cuff to become tourniquet
-slowly release pressure and listen to when the blood pressure returns (systolic)
-pay attention to when it also disappears (diastolic)
BECOME AN EMT!
