To take care of insects on d stem, did u say - mix a part of soap solution and spray on the stem? Is this effective? What if the plant gets to ingest this solution while spraying will it not be harmful to it or even die?

You can use your spare steel butter knief/spreader as trowel (Khurpi) for loosing the soil , believe me in pots and container it works more efficiently than real khurpi ..

pesticide depends on the pest occurrence if you are seeing pests very frequently even weekly is fine
