  • It's time to put my Lamar 7000# GVW mini dump trailer to work! I pick up 2 tons of #3 river rock at the local landscape supply yard. Lamar makes the best homeowner dump trailer on the market!

    I wish they would put heavier axles on those I have a similar one and I have put way more then 4k and it dumps and tows fine. Problem is volume becomes an issue with trees limbs or leafs.

      You can get this model with heavier axles. Instead of having two 3500# axles you can get it with two 5,000# axles. You can also get single axle models as well.

    whats the max payload ? i doubt its 7000 lbs

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The max payload is not 7000 lbs. The GVWR is 7000 lbs. Most dump trailers are described by the GVWR. So, when I reference 7,000 lbs. in the video, I am referencing GVWR, not payload. I hope this helps.

    • @2006mrderrickh
      @2006mrderrickh ปีที่แล้ว

      No more than 5,000 lbs.
      5k lbs + 2k trailer weight = 7k lbs

    Dodge ram 5.7 are the best in towing

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi may have a slightly higher horsepower and torque rating over the Toyota Tundra, but when it comes to towing there are so many more specifications you have to consider. Remember, Dodge Rams are available with a variety of rear axle configurations. Some are better for towing while others are better for fuel economy. All Toyota Tundras are built with the same rear axle ratio. All models are built with towing in mind. So, making generalizations about Dodge Ram 5.7 trucks being the best in towing is not entirely accurate.

    I'm strongly thinking of getting this trailer for my ranch, a 5x10 will fit through all my gates and I think the single HD axle will hold up better in uneven terrain and won't tear up the pastures as much

    Most loaders also have a built in weight system so he’s not guessing what’s in his bucket. And my 2015 GMC Canyon came with a tow button that adjusts the shift points.

    • @davidsdean
      @davidsdean ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct, they do have a weight scale built into the loader, they are not guessing or estimating anything as our content creator mentioned.

    Looking at this trailer for my carpentry business. My Tacoma has 7K tow capacity and Im running some stiffer springs for towing...anyone on this thread have any input on running this combo?

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  ปีที่แล้ว

      You may be pushing it to tow this trailer with a Tacoma. The reason why I say that is because sometimes yards have a tendency to overload. If you were to overload the trailer, it could damage your truck.

  • @shootsandscoots
    @shootsandscoots ปีที่แล้ว

    That appears to be 1 1/2 yards. Hopefully you didn’t pay for 2 yards. That doesn’t appear to be river rock, rather crushed rock. The dust is called fines. I like to blow them out while loading. River rock is typically rounded with no sharp edges since water eroded the surface turning them into rounder pebbles or stones. You should tarp the load if you are driving.

    Nicely done video sir ! I'm not interested in a trailer (just surfing) but one thing did catch my attention and that's the guy running the bucket and how good he was at estimating ! I do the same in that i know how far i can push my luck by giving my wife a reason to get mad ! I enjoy living dangerously

    Liked and subscribed after watching your earlier review of the trailer. You have a nice way of reviewing products and I will watch for your other videos. I'm looking to purchase a dump trailer now so found this very helpful. I like that you took the time to give the Tundra and the loader operator a shout out too. The loader operator was off the charts excellent.
    I would love to get a 5x10 DT for the ease of parking and driving it and I would likely be inclined to use it more as well for smaller jobs for those reasons but in addition to my Toro Dingo TX525 (which this would be perfect for) I also have a medium size Bobcat 753 and would love the option to haul it as well. I do have an equipment/ car trailer for it but I just can't help but think I would really regret getting a 6x12 for times when I need to use the BC and hauling materials to or from a job site. Life is making daily compromises and decisions but in your case I think this was spot on no compromise.

      I absolutely love it! It’s very well built (overbuilt in my opinion). You can tell it’s a trailer that will last a long time. The overall build and finish of a Lamar dump leaves the competitors behind.

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I am glad you like the video. I do not believe it would fit. I think you would need 12 ft in length instead of 10. There are people that fit compact TLB’s in this size of trailer, but the front end loader is out over the front of the trailer. Please consider subscribing!
