Definitely, it's a huge upgrade from 8 gb to 24 gb, but keep in mind that you won't be able to use Nvidia technology such as dlss 3 or path tracing, and even though amd manages to run ray tracing, it won't be as good as Nvidia graphics cards do. But, for native 4k and ultra graphics, rx 7900 XTX it's perfect.
From what I'm aware, the asrock phantom gaming oc edition (i recently got it) follows all average temps i could find online (it stayed at around 40-45 idle, 77c at 100% (better than others have said)).
Everything is crazy expensive and i debated whether i should spend the money or wait. I decided to just do it. 5800x3d with a 2080super. I originally had the 3900x. I have had the 7900xtx 2 days now. 😊
@@Bigboss-t8b4080 super would match the level of a 7900 xtx, and depends on if you really want raytracing and dlss(good frame generation) and software, or if you just want pure performance, good at raster, and more vram (good for the future). I personally think raytracing is such a quirky useless feature.
@@Bigboss-t8b good idea. I personally don't support nvidia's ai frame generation marketting or the ai chips to increase performance and etc in comparison to amd's raw raster performance, as well as the low vram their giving. But if you dont care about frame gen being their main thing or vram being pretty low you could go for the 50 series. I'm not trying to fanboy amd here, but nvidia is just not going the right path at the moment.
in full hd it’s possible, yes, but in 2k the difference will be 10% at best, and in 4k there will be no difference, I’ve already looked at the tests and they confirm this.
@@snail137 I'm still undecided about Nvidias future with regards to their Linux drivers. They suck ATM with Linux. I can't even get Gamescope running and theirs no frame generation.bwayland support is coming along but it's still poor. The amd mesa Linux drivers are better supported and more mature atm. The other thing I'm not fully convinced is raytracing. I want to game with raytracing by the time games implement the tech more and 4k gaming with it will be pretty standard and not just be delegated to just a small handful of AAA games. These days I play more indie than I do AAA By the time they iron out all the kinks with raytracing on 4k a better CPU will come out and hopefully on the AM6 socket 😂.
@@snail137 I recently built a new pc on am4 in q4 2024 with a 5700x3d and 7900xtx. Don't regret it even a little bit. AM4/ddr4 is so fucking cheap compared to am5/ddr5. I priced 2 builds and it was like, go AM5/ddr5 with a 4060 or 6800 or go am4 with a 7900xtx. No brainer for me using it strictly for gaming. Maybe if I was using it as a workstation or liked swapping parts, but once my build is set I don't like touching it until my next build. This will last me 6-7 years easily and then ill build another rig from the ground up.
